Um, Where's the Ice?! - A July 2012 European and DLRP Adventure*UPDATE 12/15 Pg.29*

Oh my gosh, that Nutella packet is the cutest thing!

That Space Mountain looks AWESOME. Is it just me or does Buzz have a very maniacal look on his face?

I miss those European Breakfast sooo much....... Coffee...... Cheese......Bread.....Bread......Bread......:dance3:

I will admit the gun performance is a bit variable - otherwise how can you explain that I got the BEST score in my group every time!:rotfl2: DS(19) insisted his gun was broken but I think I'm just great:snooty::rotfl:

loving your TR :rotfl:

we also do early breakfast, or tickets always shows 7.00am :rotfl2:

but breakfast at 7.00am in Kyriad was packed :scared1:

Um, if I had seen those nutella in a jam-style packets in Europe I would seriously have come home with a bag full. Adorable.
I don't think I did Space Mt. in DLP! Now I'm really disappointed! I wonder if I can get to Paris next spring...

Woohoo! I am slowly getting caught up on everything!!! I loved the shopping pictures!!! I would be in major trouble!

My normal breakfast plate every morning.

Also of note....the cute cute cute Nutella in a jam style container! Why oh why don't we have this here?

file-193.jpg

So funny...I saw the first picture and immediately thought "That Nutella rocks!!" And then you basically say the same thing! :goodvibes

I've been AWOL a while, but trying to catch up now.
I looooove European breakfast! The best breads & cheeses. And, ya, the coffee is delish. I'm with you, I do not care for the bilge-water coffee at WDW. I bring VIA and mix it into a carton of milk for a latte to go. Maybe some Nutella, too, next time ...
Your castle pic is so great. I am just eating up (for heaven's sake, there I go with the food again!) all the details of DLP!
Pathetic performance on Buzz, yes, but actually pretty impressive considering your mom zapped you in the head. Plus, you get bonus points for the elephant, I think.

That's okay, I have gone AWOL a few times also.

Bread and cheese is like my favorite thing to have for breakfast. It's just so yummy and so simple. I can't stand the coffee at WDW. I just can't. I will only drink it if I'm really desperate.

Oh, that is right she did zap me in the head. That must have been why my score was so terrible. :rotfl:

Another awesome update :thumbsup2

I love that their SM is so different - can't wait to try it! And I love that pic of Buzz with the storm clouds overhead!

Oh, and that Nutella packaging, so cute :flower3:

Their Space Mountain is pretty great, you'll love it!

Ahhhh that breakfast looks goooood! Is that cheese?
That is a good idea with the breakfast time cards.
Hoooray for good coffee!!!

Their version of Space sounds awesome!
I'm a sucker for a good launch:thumbsup2

I think French Zurg and Spanish Buzz should have a battle!

That is indeed cheese my friend and lots of it. They typically had gouda and emmental, which is right up my alley.

I'm a sucker for a good launch too. Launch coasters are definitely my favorite kind.

French Zurg and Spanish Buzz battling would be amazing! I would pay to see that.

OMG! Saw your TR at the top of my sub'd TRs and knew I had to catch up NOW. I'm sort of shocked I missed an update BEFORE I went to wdw. How did THAT happen?

Love the Haunted Mansion. Looks so amazing. Love your description of Space Mountain. That sounds like awesomeness. Love that you get 2 extra early hours. That is cool. The whole place sounds like so much fun.

Oh - and your score on Buzz - I hope you go back and seek revenge.

Pictures are great. You're really capturing the essence of the place.

More please!

That's all right, you had a trip to worry about.

Phantom Manor is amazing. Definitely my favorite. Space is a great change from all of the others. It's not comparable to the others, just totally different which I love.

Oh, I do plan on seeking revenge on my score some day.

I think it's so interesting how DLP's Space Mountain goes upside down! That would be cool. And the Buzz Lightyear looks cool too. It sounds like their guns are like the Disneyland ones...I really wish they would update the WDW ride because I found that those guns were so much easier to use.

Their guns are identical to the one in Disneyland, and I'm not great at the Disneyland one either. I blame it on the guns. :lmao:

I think all of your excuses for your score on Buzz are completely valid and I would've been making the same ones! :)

Sounds like a great morning so far! On Space Mountain, does the ride vehicle go up through that tube-thing on the outside??

I'm glad that you agree that my excuses were valid. I truly believed that they were. :rotfl:

You are correct my dear, the ride vehicle launches up through the tube that you saw outside.

Oh my gosh, that Nutella packet is the cutest thing!

That Space Mountain looks AWESOME. Is it just me or does Buzz have a very maniacal look on his face?

Isn't the Nutella thing the best? Nutella is one of my favorite things ever. I love love love it.

I miss those European Breakfast sooo much....... Coffee...... Cheese......Bread.....Bread......Bread......:dance3:

I miss it too. So so yummy.

I will admit the gun performance is a bit variable - otherwise how can you explain that I got the BEST score in my group every time!:rotfl2: DS(19) insisted his gun was broken but I think I'm just great:snooty::rotfl:

I'm liking the gun performance theory. I will say that I potentially had a faulty gun. :rotfl2:

loving your TR :rotfl:

but breakfast at 7.00am in Kyriad was packed :scared1:

Early breakfast was always great for us, there weren't many people there. They always started coming in after we had left.

Um, if I had seen those nutella in a jam-style packets in Europe I would seriously have come home with a bag full. Adorable.
I don't think I did Space Mt. in DLP! Now I'm really disappointed! I wonder if I can get to Paris next spring...

I was tempted to come home with a bag full of them, but honestly I'm trying not to eat Nutella too often because I've been losing weight, so I resisted.

Woohoo! I am slowly getting caught up on everything!!! I loved the shopping pictures!!! I would be in major trouble!

So funny...I saw the first picture and immediately thought "That Nutella rocks!!" And then you basically say the same thing! :goodvibes

It was very difficult to resist everything when I was shopping, but I was proud that I did. However, I did regret some things upon my return and wished I had bought a little more.

Isn't the Nutella thing amazing? Seriously though, why DON'T we have that here? :confused3

So glad I am finally caught up on one of your TRs!

That castle is absolutely gorgeous. I hope to go there one day. And I love that there was an actual pirate ship outside POTC. I've only read one other DLP TR and the photos just look amazing each time.

Um, if that jewelry you took photos of is available online, I may be in some serious trouble. Maybe I could call that my Christmas present(s). The tile was gorgeous too! How fun would that be to have randomly placed about in your kitchen on the backsplash or something.

Little packets of Nutella? Sounds heavenly! I think I would have just walked around with extra packets in my bag in case I needed a snack and needed to dip something in chocolatey goodness.

That sky looks ominous there.

Sounds like a great morning.

Once again loving the International Travel Tips (have you considered trademarking?). Bag scanners sound MUCH more efficient!

That's a nice perk that a continental breakfast is included in the room rate... lots of European hotels seem to do that...

Did they bring you that plated or did you go up to a buffet to select it? Good coffee, bread and some yogurt/ or cheese...:thumbsup2 Those nutella packets are really cute... ahhh Nutella... I can eat that stuff off the spoon from the jar...:rolleyes1 and have...

We unfortunately didn't have time to ride Space at DLP which breaks my heart...(have to go back...:rolleyes1) I loved the design on the outside... very Jules Verne...

Oh my gosh... the thing with the police/military and guns... so true and so unexpected ... Eric and I were in Venice and I remember seeing the police/military walking around with machine guns... and I thought something was seriously wrong... but turns out it was just business as usual...

Ah yes, Nutella. I'm more of a Kwatta girl myself (I prefer my chocolate spread a bit less sweet) but that's of course if I have the choice.

I'm glad you enjoyed Space Mountain. I like it but it can be a bit of a bumpy ride for my poor head sometimes. It depends. Weirdly enough we usually sit around the middle every time and one time I got out of there with such a headache it was insane.

Ah yes, the joy of faulty Buzz guns. One time I got 0 points. ZERO. My brother was delighted though... :rotfl2:

I am going to check and see if we can order the Kwatta online for us. I can't remember what brand we used when I was little but am so glad we can get it in the US now.

I love that there's an actual pirate ship near POTC too. It makes it so much more authentic.

I've looked for that jewelry online and found only some of it. It's Swarovski and you can find some of it on their website. Sadly, I couldn't find any of the ones that I would really want.

The sky was a little ominous looking, but it never produced anything bad.

Sounds like a great morning.

I have considered trademarking my tips, but I don't think many people would buy my book if I published it.

Bag scanners are so much better. With the quantity of people that go through WDW, I'm surprised they haven't invested in them yet.

Loving your report so far. :)

Can't wait for more.

Xxxx

Thanks! Glad you're enjoying it.

It is a great perk to have breakfast included and it's one of my favorite things about traveling in Europe.

It was an open buffet, so you are able to go up there and select what you want and go back for more when you're done. :lmao:

Very astute about the Jules Verne thing in Discoveryland. They actually designed it after his ideas and you can see them throughout the park, which I think is tons of fun.

I would prefer my chocolate spread to be less sweet too, but that's a hard thing to come by here. We were super excited when Nutella because widely available, so I don't raise my expectations too high. :rotfl:

Space Mountain can be a little on the bumpy side, but one ride on it was okay for me.

I am going to check and see if we can order the Kwatta online for us. I can't remember what brand we used when I was little but am so glad we can get it in the US now.

It doesn't sound familiar to me, but then again, I was raised here so.....yeah....:lmao:

Loving your TR:goodvibes As someone who goes to Belgium and NL regularly (DLRP less often:() I take "continental" breakfast for granted. It surprises me how much of a novelty it is to our US visitors - surely you have bread, cheese, ham etc available in your homes and could have it for breakfast if you want:confused3 Maybe its just a mindset like us not having spicy foods for breakfast (such as breakfast burritos) having "biscuits" with jam and cream and call them scones. Scones and gravy ? - not in my lifetime!:rotfl2:

I agree that it probably is a mindset with the breakfasts. Even I have been assimilated into the US breakfast mindset and don't eat the European breakfasts as often as I should. I know that Danielle has mentioned that my husband(her dad) was just diagnosed a diabetic and when he eats the European breakfast his blood sugars are much better than if he eats a US breakfast. I really do miss the fresh breads that you can find at the local bakeries in Europe. Unfortunately there are not a lot of bakeries in the area we live in and the bakeries in the supermarkets are good but the breads are not as tasty.

We just don't have the bakeries on every corner thing going here.....the breads in those places are amazing!!! And the pastries....yummmmm.

A breadmaker might be your new best friend:thumbsup2 Croissants are a bit of a faff but for rolls or loaves its excellent:goodvibes Mine has a recipe for a quick loaf which cooks in one hour::yes::

I had a bread maker when Danielle was younger and used it so much that I wore it out. purchased another one and didn't like it as much but still used it so much that it wore out too. Maybe I should look into getting another one.

Mmmmmm, Nutella. We buy it in a double pack from Costco (each jar is 26.5 ounces) and eat it straight out of the jar with a spoon :thumbsup2 I justify the big containers because it so much cheaper at Costco than at my local grocery store! I like to rim a martini glass with a little Nutella when making a Frangelico martini.
