Wait a minute, I'm 40, when did this happen? Nicki & Todd LIVE reviews! Completed!

I am all caught up!! Your review of Maya Grill surprised me as I had heard bad things about it , but will have to take another look !!!Mmmmm!! I want to try R &C again I loved it the last time , I usually don't order shepherd pie as I make it regularly , still have to try the bangers and mash which were a fav. of mine growing up!!!

All caught up now! I fell behind fast. Looks like a great trip so far! First of all I must say that I love the new do! The purple highlights are super cute! Now onto the food. I am totally jealous of your F&W experience so far. Everything looks absolutely incredible. I liked your story about being carded! My hubby always gets annoyed when he's carded, but I love it! I always say that I'll be sad the day I stop getting asked for my ID at the liquor store.

Thanks for the great Maya Grill review and pics as well! I had never considered eating here before, but that looks like my kinda place.

I also have to throw in my love for Argo as well. What a great movie! Glad you enjoyed it too. :thumbsup2

I hope you had a wonderful birthday! I don't normally go for Mexican but the Maya Grill is looking incredibly good all of the sudden. Boo to the lack of a Scotch egg at R&C... I could pop those things like candy.

Your DH sounds scarily like mine. Sleep and food... sleep and food. For some reason this side of him comes out with a vengeance on vacation, especially the food part. He can go days without eating at home if he wants (too lazy to eat or something :confused3, I've stopped trying to figure it out), but the minute we hit the vacation road he is famished. I think he spent half our trip in Europe in fits over when our next meal was :lmao:... never mind the early morning wake up calls!

So jealous tat you are at food & wine! My first trip when I retire from school in 25 years is to food & wine! Till then I am living through your trip report!

I was so sad tha we did not get to meet up!!! Another time for sure!! Breakfst at Boma looked yummy as did dinner at the Maya Grill. I am bummed to have missed some of those yummy things at F&W.

So sorry we never got a chance to meet up :( but maybe next time...loving the reviews and I hope you continue to have the weather we had today!
Have a blast!
M
PS I was going to say Happy Birthday in person but I guess this will have to do... Happy Birthday!

Wow!!! F&W looks amazing!!!My fav thing was that ugly sausage thing from Germany! :rotfl: Sorry the roll was not spectacular this year.:sad1: We didn't care for the plain lobster claw last year & we LOVE seafood.IDK what's up w/ that stand. Both myself & DH wanna try that scotch egg. It looks really good! As a HUGE egg roll lover myself, I can say that's enough reason to stay @ MK til 1am, maybe Todd will agree & you'll get ur way! LOL!!! Well,it looks like you two are having a PERFECT vacation. Enjoy the pool, that sounds nice right now. :beach:

I feel like a steered you wrong on the Lobster Roll at F&W!
I honestly don't remember the dill on it - my lobster was nice and tender. Maybe I got lucky?! :goodvibes

Loving the reviews and pictures - hope the rest of your trip is fun!

Awww Nicki you are so pretty for your bday dinner!! Happy belated birthday! You look amazing. :goodvibes

I learned something new about Citricos - didn't know they had an tapas menu for the bar. Nice!

Sounds like you are definitely enjoying your birthday celebration trip with Todd! Loved the Maya Grill dinner - I think you have more than a few people now wanting to book dinner there. Your F&W options all look great even if some missed the perfection mark! Especially the spanakopita. Sorry it wasn't that great though.

I'm looking forward to reading more Nicki and Todd adventures.

loving your reviews :thumbsup2

Todd went for the Cottage Pie, basically Shepherds Pie.

you know the difference with Cottage/Shepherds pie?
We dont call it different in the UK.

Cottage pie is made with minced beef
Shepherds pie is made with minced lamb

:goodvibes
although most just call them shepherds pie over here.

Sorry for the lack of updates but we got back really late last night and have been at the pool all morning. Hope to post yesterday's reviews when we go back to the room, before going back to Epcot!

How dare you enjoy your vacation without updating us ! : ). Seriously I hope you are having a fabulous wonderful chillaxing day!

LOVING your reviews as usual and your conversations with your DH are so entertaining. Thanks for sharing !!!

Thank you for reading along!

Food and Wine! :worship: I need to make it down there sometime, since I'd love to try basically every single dish.

Believe me, we are working on it :rotfl:

We love R&C but almost always go for lunch. I love the Bangers & Mash. Your steak looks pretty tasty ... I am a medium/well girl. May have to think about dinner.

Love all the food & wine pics! So excited that I will actually get to try some of those things in a few weeks!

I wanted the bangers and mash but it is no longer on the menu :worried:

13 pages late but here !!Saw your pix on the Food Porn thread and knew you had to havea Review going !!

Better late than never :goodvibes

Nicki, I finally got my TR updated, and now back to try to catch up on all of my threads again.

The picture of you and then you and Todd at your birthday dinner are wonderful...you look great (but Itold you that last month).

Thank you! I like it too, going to get one for his office and one for home

I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday dinner; unfortunately, would never get Mark there to eat, but I'm glad you and Todd went.

At least we are getting him to the Yachtsman ;)

Kona looks marvelous yet again...I do love that place and can't wait to go with you guys in December.

Ditto!

I wish I ate Mexican because the kids and us could go there the night you leave us at Disney before we go to the Mickey Christmas Party. But, alas, I don't eat Mexican. Glad it turned out to be a great choice for you.

Too bad there isnt a plainer dish for you to order...it really is a great place but you have to like that kind of food.

Despite a couple of blunders by your server at Rose & Crown, it looks as if you guys had a good meal there. I'm with Todd...I do love those chips.

It was very good, I would def eat there again

If I had the time, I could write a ten-line sonnet for every F&W picture you have here. However, I'll have to settle for this haiku:

That food looks so good!
I'm totally jelling here.
Why can't that be me?!

LOVE IT!

Maya Grill looks yummy! We haven't ever tried it. Our bad it looks to be. Rose & Crown, the same. We haven't tried it either. Although I frequent the quick service cart next to it for fish and chips! They are definitely one of my favorites. We tried The Wave in February. Believe it or not, it was the best steak of the week. The only thing I wasn't thrilled about was the potato dish. It wasn't mashed potatoes but some other crazy vegteable. Oh well. The steak made up for it! Hope you find the restaurant to your liking!!!!!!! I so enjoy the banter between the two of you. And I agree, vacations/Disney is NOT for sleeping!!!!!!!!!! :) You'd think he was 21 again. What's going to happen when he gets OLD! ;)

We have had R&C on the schedule for years but always cancelled it, glad we kept it this time though. We have always enjoyed The Wave but cancelled it last night because the menu change didnt wow us. Todd is a youngster but acts like a senior lol!

OOOOH, F&W looks so yummy! We are finally going next Oct, so I am very much living vicariously through you right now :thumbsup2

You will love F&W, we never miss a year

Ahhh...another nice food-filled day!! The F&W pix look great! The drink in China sounds delish!!! Adding to list!

Thank you, I have to get that drink again!

Reading your dining report is fun as always! Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Coming right up!

I'm pretty sure my DH wishes I had an off switch, too. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

That was HILARIOUS!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I LOVED that pumpkin mousse sooooo much last year I made it for Thanksgiving- people went crazy for it. I hope you got it on an off day- I'm like you, not good with extra sweet. Looking forward to the less sweet version I had last year.

And I forgot to mention, I am very sorry they did not have the pumpkin pancakes for you at Kona- they didn't have them for me last November, either. :sad2: I went right after you last year (just like I will this year) and I was REALLY looking forward to them, but managed to suffer through the mac nut pancakes instead. :) Kona has such a great breakfast.....

He is a trip isnt he? The pumpkin mousse was very good, jut too sweet to have more than one bite. I really missed my pumpkin pancakes, they are not something you see all the time...might have to get them at the Mimi's Cafe when we get home

I just thought about this to tell you (as I sat here enjoying one) from one pumpkin lover to another...have you tried the Thomas's pumpkin english muffins? I LOVE THEM!!!!

I wish we had those in FL, I bet I would love them! Maybe its a good thing we dont, I would eat a ton of them :lmao:

The photo of Todd holding the eggrolls REALLY cracked me up! :rotfl2: And of course there had to be a Pretzel in there somewhere.

It's great to see so many offerings of food and wine. Thanks for taking it upon you to taste all that for us. ;)

That is so him! He does it with pretzels too :rotfl: More F&W coming up, I hope you and Tom can experience it one day

Great reviews! Glad you are having a good time. I was shaking my head in agreement when I read about the lobster roll in the American pavillion. Dh and I were there for the preview night and we tried that along with the claw and they were so gross. We had to spit them out. We usually love lobster but this was beyond edible.

So far it was the worst thing we have tried...being a Boston girl I know what a real lobsta roll tastes like :thumbsup2

If you happen to be up for a DIS meet I would love to meet you! I am here doing the college program as a photopass photographer in Hollywood Studios. I love your dining reviews and just saw this thread today (So behind:rotfl:) Hope your trip is going great :goodvibes

I will do my best! PM me your name and a picture so I can single you out

great reviews! my mouth is watering.

oh and i agree. i don't know how anyone can sleep in on a disney vacation! i am always the one waiting for others to wake up!

Hopefully there will not be anymore sleeping in days!

I havent read much on Maya but I am really glad we tried it, very good meal and excellent service. I make shepherds pie for him at home so I was a bit shocked that he ordered it

All caught up now! I fell behind fast. Looks like a great trip so far! First of all I must say that I love the new do! The purple highlights are super cute! Now onto the food. The trip is awesome so far! I love my purple, its fading a bit quicker than the last time but I brought some stuff to touch it up with. So far I was carded just once, would make my trip if it happened again :rotfl:

I hope you had a wonderful birthday! I don't normally go for Mexican but the Maya Grill is looking incredibly good all of the sudden. Boo to the lack of a Scotch egg at R&C... I could pop those things like candy.

I was really hoping he would get the scotch egg but oh well! Todd has been known to work through meals and then gets super cranky...well dude, eat something and you will not be cranky!

So jealous tat you are at food & wine! My first trip when I retire from school in 25 years is to food & wine! Till then I am living through your trip report!

You will love it! Hope that day comes soon

Just read your whole thread! Your trip sounds great so far and I can't wait to see what is next!

Thank you, happy to have you here!

The sausage from Germany was great! I cannot wait to get it again. And yes, Todd had 2 egg rolls again last night!

I feel like a steered you wrong on the Lobster Roll at F&W!
I honestly don't remember the dill on it - my lobster was nice and tender. Maybe I got lucky?! :goodvibes

So glad you are enjoying them! The old R&C menu had lamb in the pie, this time it was just beef, thanks for explaining the difference!

How dare you enjoy your vacation without updating us ! : ). Seriously I hope you are having a fabulous wonderful chillaxing day!

The nerve of us :rotfl2:

Sorry about the delay, got in late last night and was just too darn tired!

Originally we were going to have a pool day but Todd woke up wanting more F&W, who am I to deny him?

Breakfast was at our food court, I was worried it would be a zoo like the day before but it was pretty empty. He has OJ, so glad they no longer have that yucky Minute Maid! I had a side of scrambled eggs and a side of sausage. Both were excellent!

EpcotMonam001.jpg

He had the cheese danish and said it was very good but the ones on Main Street in MK are better.

EpcotMonam002.jpg

He also had biscuits with sausage gravy. Once he cut it up we had to go back to the counter and ask for more gravy, which they gave him, no prob

EpcotMonam003.jpg

He enjoyed it, I do not like it because I am a sucker for REAL southern sausage gravy and this just aint it.

Lucky for us the bus to Epcot didnt take long, and away we go!

The day was hotter than we have been experiencing. The park was very busy too. After we got our FP for Soarin I took a few pictures of the bakery in the Land. I def have to go back and try some of these treats!

These look like red velvet whoopie pies..no sign to tell me what they were

EpcotMonam009.jpg

Lunch was more snacking around F&W...we cannot get enough F&W!

Beer Time! It was right at 11am so we just ordered one small of the Berry Weiss. Now I do not like beer but this was awesome! Very light and a touch of fruit to it, planning on getting 2 the next time so we dont fight over it :lmao:

EpcotMonam038.jpg

Caribbean Booth, Bacardi Torched Cherry Frozen Cherry Limeade. This was Todd's choice, I thought it was way too sweet, he thought it tasted like pink lemonade...not that great

EpcotMonam012.jpg

Jerk Spiced Chicken Leg with Mango Chutney. I loved this but not the sweetness of the chutney. Would def get this again, the meat was so tender and the skin had a nice sticky crunch to it

EpcotMonam013.jpg

Hawaii - Pork Slider. I loved this last year but didnt like it at all this year, way too sweet and overloaded with pineapple

EpcotMonam014.jpg

Greece again, Todd had to get the Greek Salad, he loved that it was drenched in dressing, I dont like it that way so I got another service of spanakopita...love this stuff! Didnt get the chicken souvlaki this time but we will get it later

EpcotMonam015.jpg

EpcotMonam016.jpg

EpcotMonam017.jpg

Canada again, I had to get that filet again! It was just as amazing as the first time, so tender and the line was long but it moved fast. We also had a Neige Bubble which was very good and not too sweet

EpcotMonam018.jpg

EpcotMonam019.jpg

Ireland, I really wanted the fishermans pie but I know I cannot eat it all myself and Todd didnt want it yet..next time for sure! Now the serving of the Warm Chocolate Baileys Lava cake is small but it is so rich that its enough...will def get this again too!

EpcotMonam020.jpg

EpcotMonam021.jpg

Next stop, Belgium! Todd had the truffles and enjoyed them. We shared the Godiva Chocolate Liqueur Ice Coffee...OMG this was insane! So creamy and tasty and I just fell in love with it...should have ordered the larger size!

The chicken souvlaki was one of the best things we had at F&W! Also, try the Ceviche at the FL booth. I sortof ordered it by accident and it was FABULOUS!
