Last update left off with us heading to get something at the food court for dinner.
There are 4 main food stations, sadly i dont have many pictures inside the food court as it was usually a you take this kid there and get that, i will go this way and get this ready break.
But i do have pictures of what each station offers food wise.
Lets start left to right when you enter the food court.
Far left has adult beverages, normal drinks, fruits, and so forth...
next section as we move along has your deserts which consist of cupcakes, brownies, pastries, a fantastic mickey ganache chocolate filled goodness desert.
then we come to the area that has the build your own smoothies and gelato ice cream.
then we get to the first main food stand.
they serve
this night candi got the make your own salad, she enjoyed it but had one bad tomato that threw her off the rest of the tomatoes.
then we have a little mini cooler that housed the kids items from the pick two section of the kids menu...which had things from juice boxes, to grapes, to danimals yogarts...
next line is the world of flavors line.
here is there menu.
later in the trip i tried this location i had the mongolian grill beef stir fry.
the flavor was excellent. i even had it again the last day we were there.
the meals come with rice and the flat bread stuff you see in the picture..i used it to make a beef stir fry with rice taco.
the portuguese sausage was the same that they had for the breakfast plates, i had it a few times, more flavor than regular, but candi didnt care for them...the chicken dish looked good but never ended up ordering it.
the sides you can pick range from baked cauliflower, to a butternut squash, to a dish that had cheese with spinach...the cheese was good out of here but didnt try the spinach.
so not your typical CS meal, but a nice change of pace from what is normally offered other places.
next we have another large drink cooler before you get to the make your own pasta, and pizza stand.
there are 3 kinds of pasta to pick from, 3 sauces, 3 meats, and like 10 veggies and things to add...alot of combos and hard to pick.
the line for this was maybe the longest, but for what they do, boil the pasta, cook up the veggy and meat options then add the sauce and hte pasta it took maybe 5 minutes, so seems like a while as you are standing there, but you can stand there and watch them do it all and is sort of fun to watch.
see lots of workers making your food happen..comes with a large piece of garlic bread that was very good.
actually when i got back to the table mine was missing the chicken, when i took it back up, we found out that someone else took my order so i got theres...no big deal they quickly made me another.
the chicken Alfredo was very good, i had broccoli and chicken in mine with fresh parmesian on top...later in the week i added roasted red peppers and crushed garlic and it made it that much better, candi even added peas to hers and said it was fantastic later in the week...the amount was huge that you got as well, easily stuff one person our make two people comfortable to share.
this station has a seperate line for the pizza and subs to pick up.
the pizza and subs come with side ceaser salads
then we have another mini cooler with adult drinks and kid pick two items and move along to the last option of build your own burger
i did not have the chicken burger here for dinner but had it as part of a breakfast sandwich twice later in the trip, and have pictures of it...one of the best breakfast sandwiches i have ever had.
moving on to the burgers...i did have the pastrami burger...the burger was great, pastrami not so much a little fatty so didnt eat it all...but the burger was really good.
and parker had the mac and cheese here one day and loved it was very good and more homemade like grandma than anything else you get other places.
food in hand/ or tray it was time to check out...
can sort of make out the size of the salads and pasta...good size portions.
noelle not happy with the speed of food going in her tummy
somehow parker weasled me out of my desert, and he ended up with the mickey head cupcake
candi had the gelato, which they stamp your reciept and you can come back up with 90 minutes to claim your desert so it doesnt melt while you eat.
REVIEW OF FOOD.
her salad was good despite the bad tomato but its sort of hard to screw up a salad...wasnt the resort fault the tomato was bad, it happens...
my pasta was very good noelle loved it.
parker enjoyed his food, i think he had pizza that night.
and of course loved my cupcake that little turd, at least i got one of the oreo cookies from the ears as a compromise. im thinking he still won that desert round.
REVIEW OF DINING FACILITIES.
thought they were good,
theming was great, each section was one of the four sections of the resort.
some tended to be louder than others with so many people in there.
we found the lion king section was the best it was the farthest away and decent noise level.
one complaint i had and gave it to the research people doing surveys in our section. was the garbage area.
there are 3 bins to put your REAL dishes and silverware when done...very nice...a spot for trays and the smallest trash opening i have ever seen. maybe 4 inches by ten inches long...i get why they have it that small to keep people from just taking there trays and dumping everything in it including the dishes...but it was a pain.
there was usually food on the floor in front of them because they were just too small to get the "garbage" off your plates and stuff fell down.
the CM's i saw said everyone hated them even them, and were hoping they would be fixed...my guess is that they will eventually.
moving on..it was time to explore some more resort.
we head out through the gift shop to the main lobby and take a picture of the awesome chandelier.
zoomed in there are drawings on the end of each one.
candi and the kids checking out the artwork on the wall that is by the gift shop.
there are many cool things to check out there and take in. and i see we were there not even a few hours and parker already has a monorail toy to play with
we head off to see cars section.
i have better day time pictures later in the report of a photo tour noelle and i did but that will have to wait. these were all taken with my good camera and no flash at night so wasnt too dissapointed in the picture quality.
greating us we have sarge on one side of the road.
doc hudson.
farther down the radiator springs road/path ( i have pictures of this later as well) we run into flo and ramone
the entrance to the cozy cone motel pool is the center court yard for this section.
very well detailed and once again more of those coming later in the report...hey i have to keep my readers around somehow.
then we run into luigis casa della tires, and quido as they welcome you to one of the main doors of the wing.
continued on in next section...just below a post or two.
