Official NASHVILLE Discussion Thread

Can't get that song that Scarlett and Gunner sang at the end out of my head!!! I already downloaded to my Ipod it but it keeps running through my head all the time. Just loved it. Can't wait for Wednesday to see another episode!!

If I Didn't Know Better by Clare Bowen & Sam Palladio (cover of the Civil Wars song of the same name).

I know that the younger singer hooked up with Rayna's lead guy.
But who was the guy she with in the last scene????
They all looked just alike - couldn't keep them straight!!

I believe it was the record producer. He was in the studio when Juliette (Hayden P's character) was recording. But I agree that they all look alike so I could be wrong.

My dad and I watched it Wednesday night (my mom and brother were in the other room watching CSI (too many good Wednesday shows in our household).

We both really enjoyed it. And my dad's not a country music fan.

I really think Rayna can be compared to any of the ladies of country music who've been around a long time and Juliette to any of the younger crossover-type acts.

The guy at the very end on the couch was Deacon, Rayna's band member that Juliett wants for her band (and for more it seems :rotfl2:!). She did hook up with the record producer in the closet after her phone call from her meth mom.

When she answered the door at the end it was the record producer standing at the door in the rain wanting to come in and she told him no...because Deacon was inside sitting on the couch with the guitar in his lap. At least the record producer has blond hair so is easier to recognize.

Thank you!

Tomorrow night's episode looks like Juliett and Deacon write a song together.

Also saw Hayden on GMA and the View and she talked about 2 of the songs from tomorrow night's show being available on Itunes.

I saw somewhere that one of Hayden's songs from the show is being shipped to radio via Big Machine.

I heard the songwriter version that Juliette and Deacon wrote and it's so good.

Yes, I saw it today at the ABC Nashville site....the songwriters talked about having their music on the show and sang parts of the song...they did a great job with it!!!

Here is the link that I watched.

Is it just me or does Hayden always seem to speak with her jaw clenched?

No, it's not just you - I was thinking the same thing. Even when she was "singing" it seemed like she was doing it then, too. :confused3

I thought last night's episode was great. The hour just flew by. ::yes::

I am so glad to see this thread. I like "Nashville" very much.

I loved the scene when Rayna and Deacon sang "No One Will Ever Love Like I Do". It was very beautiful!

I saw the pilot, not last night's episode yet (it's on the DVR).

Here is what I know for a fact: Rayna is LOOSELY based on a combination of Reba McEntire and Faith Hill.

I don't know about Juliette but my personal take is she is a combo of Taylor Swift and Mindy McCready, lol.

Many parts of the show were very realistic. And others...not so much. The whole Bluebird being empty so someone can just walk in mid-show to check out an act...LMAO! Not likely. Also Rayna and her guitarist walking across the Shelby Street bridge chit-chatting...again not likely. I have lived in Nashville my whole life and I have never seen a huge country star casually walking about downtown. In the suburbs, yes, but never down in the thick of the tourist areas.

I really don't like country music but it's fun for me to see so many places I know so well. Plus my best friend is a songwriter and has been in the biz for years so I love getting her take on everything. :goodvibes According to her some of the story lines are completely realistic in this industry, others...well, I have to remember this is basically a soap opera!

Finally...I CANNOT STAND those fake twangy southern accents those 2 young kids do. Connie Britton has the PERFECT Nashville old-money accent down pat. Those other 2....I cringe to think people imagine we talk like that. But I do want the show to succeed. Number one it would be great business-wise for my town. Also my friend's aunt created this show, is the main writer and is exec. producer...for their sake I would love for it to be a huge success.
