Rebels are back in 2012

Hello friends! Wow...work has been keeping me busy so I haven't been online much. I am now living in FL at my Mom's place with my dog while we wait for the house to be built. They are targetting August 19th. Fingers crossed. I have been pretty consistent with my workouts since arriving in the sunshine state. Had to miss a few days thanks to Debby but otherwise I have been running 4 days a week, swimming two and this week I biked one. My next race isn't till September (ToT10 Miler), then I have the Baltimore Half and Wine&Dine, followed by WDW Marathon and Princess. Enough to keep me moving without being overwhelmed with the whole wedding planning/moving/new Mom thing.

Ok, back from my whirlwind half marathon/Glacier camping trip... I have GREAT news on my Missoula Half Marathon... I ran a 1:59!!! That beat my old PR by 15 minutes... phew, I was smoking! Definitely have to hand it to Insanity for getting me in shape for it since I barely trained running wise. How is everyone else doing???

Suzanne Great Job - What a commercial for Insanity.

Katie Sounds like you have a good running plan to keep you busy this fall.Far more motivation than I have.

Need to get my but in gear for this fall. I started running in Newton's this spring, and have stalled at about 6-8 miles.

Hi Rebels!!

Posting to get us back on the first page.

Also letting you all know that I officially registered for 2012 Wine and Dine and 2013 Marathon today. I'll save Goofy for another year.

Mike

Congrats Mike! I actually signed up for Goofy, and yes, I am thinking that idea was crazy! I plan on training to walk it, rather than run it. Finishing it will be a miracle!

Hey Rebels!!!

Ok, I've been gone a while... I admit! But I haven't been slacking on my training! I completed Insanity at the end of the year... and I've lost 25 pounds.. Went from 156 to 131 and feeling GREAT!

I signed up for my FIRST full marathon... the WDW Marathon! I'm beyond excited, but also nervous! I have a half marathon this weekend... but haven't really been training for it. I need to get my butt in gear :o)

Congrats on the weight loss. Since I started "training" I have lost about 10 pounds. I am sure it is mostly water weight due to the fact that I have stopped drinking beer (sigh). I have been looking at the Insanity program and it is nice to hear that it worked for someone!

Whats up rebels,

Just a little update. My running is going well except for when I sleep in to late and end up running in 90 degrees. Those runs end up being shorter than planned. Ive been lifting like crazy and eating super healthy and its really starting to show. Im still about 15lbs away from where I want to be, but ill get there.

Im so excited for the goofy. My aunt and dad have also signed up for the goofy and my uncle and mom signed up for the full. So were going to be a herd of tired people sunday night. My next events on my list is the warrior dash aug. 25th and the air force half in september.

Hope everyones training is going well.

Yeah the weather shortens mine too! I'm just getting ready for the DL half. I have my last long run this Friday. After the alf it's straight into training for my first full at wdw. :). I think I may be crazy....

I've tried posting several times but can't seem to stay logged in. Trying again.

Great job on the weight loss Steve! I have really been fighting to stay consistent with my runs while adjusting to the FL heat. When life gets really busy I end up missing a few runs but hve been doing better than I thought I would. I have added swimming into my workout routine down here. I run to the pool and back from the pool and luckily my fiancee is down here so he and I can run together for our long runs. We still have 23 days till we settle on the new house. Unfortuantely it isn't till after we get the kids back from their Mom so we are all moving into my Mom's house for the first two weeks of school. It is going to be a little crowded and hectic, but hopefully we will find a good routine.

Steve & Dagny I updated the first post to show your Goofy status. Everyone feel free to point out an races you need me to add to the calendar.

K80K I'm glad you are getting used to Florida. I keep hoping I'll have to do that someday.

First serious Marathon training run today. Temps were i the 60s at the start of a 12 miler. For those of you struggling with heat still.

Slow Down, Stay hydrated, Watch Electrolytes. Fall will eventually come, even in Florida.

Whats up everyone,
Just got back from an 8.3 mile run and decided to check in with the rebels. I have a warrior dash this saturday which should be fun. Ill try to remember to take some pictures and post them.

I had to take a week off from lifting because I hurt my shoulder some how and I have no clue how. I just woke up one morning and it hurt. Its better now so I started the weight training training yesterday again.

Other than the usual overly-ambitious pursuits, I think I want to try to climb mount rainier in washington. Out of nowhere, Ive been bit by the mountain climbing bug. Kind of random so we will see if it pans out over the next year or two.

Thats it for now.

I live near mt Rainer. :). Warrior dash is a lot of fun. Good luck! Can't wait to see the pics!

Whats up everyone,

Awesome job! Great pics

Hey rebels. Sorry I have been gone so long, but for some reason my computer decided it did not like the Dis site. I am trying to use the mobile app now, so hopefully I will be around more often. Had fun at Disneyland a couple weeks ago, and soon it will be time to start training for Donald. Pretty excited for my first race at Disneyworld.

Hey rebels,
Posting from the starting line of the air force half. Its a pretty fun race. They did a flyby with a stealth bomber. Anyway, im just killing time before the race. Ill post pics after the race.

Hope you had a good half.

I did a color run 5k on Saturday. It was really fun. I would recommend it to anyone. Did a lot of walking, but it was a blast.

Is it too late to join the Rebels? Big fan of Disney and Star Wars.
I'm running the Hudson Mohawk Marathon in Albany, NY in 10 days. :faint:
and I noticed there wasn't any Rebels' races listed in October, so you can sign me up for that, too!
Thanks,
Matt in NJ

:welcome:
Matt Nice job on the Marathon. 4:09 is impressive :woohoo::woohoo:

Steve Hope the Air Force Marathon went well. Great pictures from the Warrior Dash.

Manda, Cherrie How was Disneyland.

Sorry I have been missing recently. Between work, home, training I have been busy. Going to WDW this week with my son and his friends for their fall break. This weekend we did 17 miles getting ready for Mickey. Normally we do a 3:1 galloway. Was not feeling up to it this week and did a 2:1. Was actually faster, go figure!

Disneyland was good. Too warm for me! I had injured my knee prior so I had to run with a medical brace (think very large!). I was just thankful to be able to run it. It look me 3;15.

I am also training for the full. Funny how life happens...knee sports doc is also a family doc. We talked Bout my running and how high my heart rate gets (178 -180 and I'm almost 40). Doc said that's no good and wanted me to take it slow enough to be under 165. Well that means about 16 min mile. Yikes! That marathon is gonna take me a loooonnng time. However, I no longer cough a lot when I run now that I slowed down. So I feel much better.
