November 2012 Car Rental Deals

Changed my reservation, with budget. Upgraded to a intermediate SUV vs a compact for our family of 5. Final cost with taxes and coupon 182.00. for 7 days. Nov 14-21. Still hoping for something cheaper. I just keep getting caught up on having both of us being able to drive! Every time I find something cheaper, when I add the additional driver it way more expensive. Either way I can live with this price.

Saved a whopping $2 this morning, Advantage went down again, making my total $94.30 :cool1: No coupons, just going through the AAA site

As much as I hate to do it, I am thinking we may end up using Magical Express for our upcoming trip. I am just having a hard time paying almost $200 for a small rental car for 8 days. I was trying to figure out why I had not booked anything, even in hopes of a lower rate, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Our trip is less than 3 weeks away and I have nothing at all reserved.

We have only used ME once and found we were just happier renting a car, but I don't know if I was $200 happier.

We leave in two weeks and I'm starting to think the same thing. Except for us, DME would just be one way from MCO to CBR. The only thing is we are also spending the last two nights over at Universal, so would have to have a town car or taxi to get us and our stuff over to Universal and then three days later get us to the airport.

Right now I have a compact booked for $242.31 (total) for nine days through Budget. However, I was just at WDW last month and paid $135.00 for a midsize through Alamo for that trip. Now it's twice what it was from the first week of Sept, for a smaller car yet.:confused3 I was sure hoping they'd go down.

I called this morning and went ahead and booked ME, knowing that I could cancel if I did find a rental that was half way reasonable. I thought I remembered that three weeks out was the latest to be sure and get luggage tags, etc. At least we do have transportation now.

I was able to book a full-size with Dollar last night for $162 total for Nov. 16-23. This morning I rebooked it at $154. This was a city special. I'll keep checking as I prefer Alamo, but at least I've got something reasonable.

Last night I checked National for every week in November, Sat-Sat stay, and came up with $204 total, each week for emerald aisle (well, it shows mid-size). This was using the KLM code 8572130 and coupon NDA23A4BQ.

For my dates, it is $285 (10/31-11/10). I might pay the extra $100 and use it over my dollar reservation for peace of mind...still deciding what to do...

Advantage has gone down again.

11/10-11/18 for a large car for $138.83. No codes.

I just put your dates in carrentalsavers and Budget has an economy or compact for $274 total. It's not a huge savings, but every dollar helps! That was using BCD#D454300

Hey all!

I just rebooked through Costco Travel with Budget- $119 for 11/3-11/10. Saving $60 over the Wendie code discount!

Anyone with Costco membership should check it out!

Yep, I rebooked mine this morning for $89.69 :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone. Advantage has a great rate for 11-9. $112/week! For our dates Alamo is still almost 300 for a compact. We have not used Advantage, but will try this time.

Thanks for the Costco update. I just checked and it is cheaper as compared to Advantage and Budget w/ the Wendie code!

Does Advantage or Budget have any of the stupid fees that Dollar does?
Dollar requires a gas receipt within 10 miles of the airport when returning a car and also the toll fees they have. They want you to pay 45.00 - 47.00 to add on tolls. I might just pay the extra and go with Alamo. I have always used them but this trip is a budget trip and Dollars prices were a lot less. I don't know if Dollar is worth the hassle fighting with them at the counter.

Can you point me to the link that shows the dollar fees and terms about the gas receipt?

Do you need to by the toll pass or can you just pay the tolls. Want to be sure to do the right thing when I get to the counter.

Advantage is down again this morning!

Is there a limit to the number of times I can rebook and cancel? I think I've done it almost daily for the last 5 days straight :rotfl2:
