Official 2012/2013 Disney Military Promotion - Updated Post #187

I have a silly question! We'll be using the tickets in June and thinking about adding the wp&m for the first time. If we did, does that mean we would get 4 days in the parks and 2 days at the waterparks giving us a total of 6 days of activities?

TIA!

What is means is that you would get 4 major park (MK, EP, DHS, & AK) entries and 4 minor park (BB, TL, DQ) entires or 8 days of activities.

Oh that's even better!! I was scared we would have to fit everything into 4 days!!! So 8 days of activites is even better!!!! Thank you for your quick reply!

This is a "canned" response modified for the Armed Forces Salute 2012/2013 tickets with the assumption you have both the Park Hopper and Water Park Fun and More (WPF&M) options.

Hopefully this will make it a little clearer. In effect you have two tickets with different privileges on one card. Everything expires at Midnight on Sunday September 28, 2013. Even if you use up all your major park days, the WPF&M entries remain valid until used or 9/28/13. (Note you do not have to use the days consecutively.)

You have four days of access to the four major parks (AK, DHS, EC, MK), and may visit more than one major park on a single day without any extra charges. Without the Park Hopper option you can only go to one major park per day.

You have four entries to the minor parks (BB, DQ, OT, TL, WWS, FG, W-SL). These may or may not be used on the same days as you go to the major parks. However, if you went to TL in the morning, Oak Trail in the afternoon, and Disney Quest in the evening of one day you would have used three of the four entries. (Note that leaving and returning to the same minor park on the same day does not use an extra entry.)

If you go to minor parks only on one day and do not go to a major park you do not use up one of your major park days.

If you were to go to a Water Park in the morning and then one of the major parks for the remainder of the day you would have used one minor park entry and one day of major park entry.

Note that with the ticket unless you have the hopper option you can only go to one major park per day. Unless you have the WPF&M option you cannot go to a minor park without upgrading or purchasing a separate ticket.

I might have overlooked the answer.

Can you buy only the number of tickets you need? We know will only need two or four depending on if we can use them with only a couple of day break for the year? DH is getting out of the service so we want to go one more time before he does. Also what is active guard or reserve?

this post seems to indicate that tickets must be used on the day they're activated

"The first use of the AFS ticket must be on the same day as activation."

any comment on that Cheshire? We always activate the day we arrive at either TTC or DTD and then are free to head to the parks first thing in the morning without delay. I know many do this as well.

It also says no back to back use, but that's not a big surprise.

I am wondering about this, too. We always activate on arrival day at DTD and use the tickets for the first time on the following day.

You can buy up to 6 tickets, that's all allowed from this promotion.

Active Guard and Reserve are those that attend training one weekend a month and 2 weeks in the spring/summer, like my husband. We have an ID card, and Tricare RS and on post priviledges There is IRR, which is Inactive Ready Reserve, they don't have benefits or priviledges.

I'm wondering if they are doing that to prevent people from buying them, activating them, and then giving them to other people to use later?

Thank you. I guess the part where all 6 tickets had to be bought at once was confusing to me. '

Okay I was thinking Active Guard and Reserve were ones that had been put on active duty status. Thank you for explaining it.

It can in some situations, but not when it relates to the Salute tickets and room discounts, thank goodness.

1. The tickets do not have to be first used on the day of activation.

2. Disney just came out with an internal set of FAQs three pages long, clarifying many questions. I've had out of town guests staying with me this week, and I'm working both today and tomorrow. I expect to analyze them and will have a clarifying information post sometime this weekend. Stay tuned for more information. When I do it, I will do a new post to this thread, as well as edit both Post #1 of this thread and the ticket sticky.

i've heard conflicting information and i need help!

we already have a WL reservation for 9 days in february for 6 people (including my mil husband). I've been trying to figure out the best plan to save money .. whether it's to wait to see if free dining is offered (and not use mil discounts) or to get the 40% off the room with the mil discount (and just pay for dining). the big deciding factor, for me, is if we can use the 4-day mil park tickets for our whole stay.

everything i've read online says that with the mil tickets, you can purchase 1 4-day ticket per person per year, but when i talked to a CM on the phone, he said that you can buy that twice a year and just do it back-to-back, giving us 8 days each of tickets to use for our one vacation.

is this true or was he mistaken? i would hate to get down there and have them say we need so many days between uses ... or have them say we can only use the 1st 4-day tickets and not the 2nd.

i hope someone can clear this up.

I think we have to wait for Cheshire to come back with an explanation of the recent clarifications put out by Disney to their employees. Anything else is just pure conjecture. Hope it works out for you. But you won't be able to buy two sets of 6 tickets, unless they've drastically changed the rules. What you MIGHT be able to do--and we won't know until Cheshire tells us-- is use two tickets for 3 people back-to-back. That would use up your 6 tickets. CF said he'd have clarification by the weekend.
