Are you rationing just in case?
Oh of course! My way of doing it is making smaller portions. I fool my mind into thinking I'm having, let's say, 4 pieces, but in reality I took 2 pieces and cut them down the middle. My stomach may notice the difference but my mind tells it to shaddup before it makes the situation worse!
