Team Goddess - Volume 11. Rocking 2012 Goddess Style!

I love you. Yes I know I have done a lot of great work, I fully own this is a body I worked hard to get. I'm just not done yet. I have the oddest relationship with that scale now, I need it to give me some measure that I'm on track but at the same time it doesn't paint the whole picture. I'm not at my ideal number but I'm stronger then before. Random number generator, that's what my trainer calls it.

I got you Megan totally. I was just biggin' you up. Cause you deserve it. You absolutely look fantastic.

I live with someone who thinks the scale is the funniest little creature she's even seen. Cause sometimes it goes as high as 180 for her and she looks about 125 tops. And when she sees these "ridiculous" numbers she laughs in hysterics like a four year old laughing at I don't know - it's late. Like FUN-NY - like no other thought but "isn't that funny?". None.

That's called a woman who thinks rationally. :rotfl2: They are very interesting creatures. Almost extinct in this area.

Here's the thing there are foods I will never eat, ever. (Certain fish, cottage cheese.) I have a thing about foods with weird textures. What I hated about greek yogurt was the texture but the taste was fine. So it's worth it to suck it up and make myself adjust to the texture because I do like the taste. Apparently I feel fish and cottage cheese aren't worth the effort. I make no sense I know. I guess I really believe I will come to enjoy greek yogurt.

Oh for crying out loud. You could have just told me the first time that you liked the taste. But I thoroughly enjoyed going off so :thumbsup2

Oh My WORD no dancing banana of death!!!! :rotfl2:

Lisa, you were right on re charities. And for the record, Komen=Lame. New rule. They don't support what she DIED of. Oct 13, Metastatic Day. I'll rant then. :)

I think of you and your mom all the time. I wish I had good words or advice or anything. Anything.

You all don't have to have words Liz. Truly. There are some smiles through tears - she called me HANDSOME twice last week. :rotfl2:

I hit it by accident - I swear :thumbsup2 - and I was way too tired to edit the yellow potassium stick. I came on to edit for you - probably ridiculously but oh well. :coffee: Don't even ask - no rational mind lives here.

MEGAN--talk to me more about getting a faster 5k time and specifically what you are doing. AMY and I both have the same goal of lowering our times. And although right now I am way out of shape, I know that when I was at my peak, everyone was telling me the same thing...I was totally capable of going faster, I was the only one who didn't know it.

So tell me about the sprint work-outs and anything else you are doing to decrease your time. I would K.I.L.L. for a 24 minute 5k. Really. I would kill someone for it. Not someone I liked, of course. But some random asswipe? Sure. Kill him dead for a 24 minute 5k! :rotfl2:

What is Jeff's?

Curious.

:wave2: Can I claim thread amnesty? Please? I've read everything and am all caught up now :thumbsup2

Liz- love, hugs, prayers of peace

So much to say to everyone about races, goals, revelations. I, too, need to get back here for accountability. Between the hip arthritis and working for my SIL this summer, my whole exercise routine that I've had for 25 years was shot to he!!. I need to get back on track with both the working out and the food.

Look at you asking for thread amnesty. And then the Queen Major just taking it like it's her right. :rotfl2:

Oh Kelly! The Borgias - remember not on my basic channels but now on DEMAND. :thumbsup2 They've loaded up to episode two so don't tell me a thing. I would like to drop kick the annoying brother but not Mr. Irons - entertains me to no end.

Don't even try to follow how my brain does the segue.

As for me--well. I broke my foot in the middle of the summer. Stress fracture of the meta tarsal. Hurts like a mofo. And I haven't done a stitch of exercise in 3+ months. So I'm as fat as a mofo. Sad but true. But, my foot is FINALLY getting better. This has been the hardest rehab ever. Ok, so I am not rehabbing...just waiting for it to heal. But you know what I mean. So freaking slow. Maddening. But like I said, I am finally at about 80-ish percent. So a few more weeks and I am going to SLOWLY hit the road and see how it goes. But I am finally ready to do some basic floor work. Squats, lunges, and push-ups (Ahem...Nancy...just sayin')

Mo fo. Cray cray. I feel like I'm a sleepover playing MAD LIBS or trying to converse with Kelly's new mug love.

Oh Mad LIBS - how I loved thee. :goodvibes

That sucks Erika. Totally frustrating.

So wedding details....

Well I threw my sister a disney themed bridal shower a few weekends ago complete with mickey mouse confetti I made myself and the disney fairy tale wedding cd. Oh and a Cinderella cake where I gave them a barbie doll and they made the dress out of cake. Hard to explain but my cousin tagged me in her pictures on facebook so you should be able to check out the whole shower there or I can post pictures another time.

As for the wedding itself my parents, my brother, myself, Brian, my sister, her fiance and my niece will all be flying to Disney on November 29. The wedding is December 1. My sister likes that her wedding date will be 12/1/2012.

She will be getting married on the deck(?) of Fulton's Crab shack. She looked into a park wedding but to she was just over the guest limit for the least expensive package and the next step up was more then she wanted. So she looked at the Swan and Dolphin and Characters in Flight. She had decided on Characters in Flight, she called to book and.... found out that there had been some accident with another one of their balloons and so they were no longer doing the one in WDW. They told her about Fulton's and I swear she hasn't looked back since. I think I've mentioned before that she loves the history of the boat and for our family... well this was the location of the first character meal my parents ever took us to. We tossed around the idea of going some place else for dinner after the ceremony but my mom decided just to make it easy and stay in one location. This has turned out to be the perfect decision for my sister. She was so anxious about how to tell our huge extended family that she hates being the center of attention and asking them not to come to the ceremony so this solved everything. She has told everyone immediate family only.

I wish I could share a link to her dress but David's Bridal is no longer carrying it I believe. It's simple yet beautiful at the same time. She went thinking she'd try on dresses to get an idea of what she liked. I saw this on a rack of dresses that the only ones left of those styles. (Samples, dresses that the brides didn't want... very random stuff.) She tried it on and loved, she also bought a veil. I'm sure there will be pictures on facebook that day. She is wearing these shoes in silver. (My mom almost died when she heard my sister wanted to wear sandals. Oh I wish I had that conversation on tape!)

I have no shame in sharing my dress. I'm wearing this dress in rose petal pink. Which looks not so nice on the website but the woman at the store described it as Sleeping Beauty pink. I will share my true feelings are that this is not what I would pick for myself, I don't hate it but its just not me. My sister... she lit up when she saw me in it. I would wear a paper bag if it made her light up. I'm wearing these shoes in ivory. Those I love and it's taken a lot not to wear them out.

My fabulous mom and niece don't have dresses yet. Katie just hasn't like any of the ones she has seen for Emma. My mom keeps loosing weight and keeps holding off on buying one. The are both in crunch time. We're working on jewelry ideas. We think we found a necklace for Katie. We found this bracelet on etsy that we were going to both get but once my aunt saw it she said she could make it for us. (She makes things like that.)

We were looking into people to come do our hair for the day. My sister went and got her hair done recently, she was mentioning to my hair dresser that we were on this search. Well this has been our hairdresser since we were kids. She has decided she's always wanted to go to disney and she's always envisioned doing my sister's hair when she got married so she's flying down Friday and staying till Monday with another woman who works at her salon. They are staying at Caribbean Beach which is where we'll all be, they have paid for their trip. They will come in the morning to do my hair, my sister's hair and my mom's hair. I'm still in shock that it's happening. We go for hair trials in about two weeks. We're going to be their last clients and we're going to do pizza and drinks with them that night too. I'm desperately searching for hair ideas. I came up with one but Brian vetoed it pretty quickly. Katie's pretty set on doing hers half up with soft curls.

I haven't even gotten into the drama with his side of the family but I've rambled on way longer then any of you needed me to so we'll end the wedding report there. Actually theres a bunch more wedding details that includes me turning myself into a crafting machine but again I'll save it for another day.

Megan - didn't Liz just tell you we LOVE rambling? Eh? Huh. Why yes she did. Wait, I *think* she did. :rotfl2:

Haven't read this yet - will tomorrow. Got to run - I missed my Chelsea.

So haven't read but saw your dress. LOVELY. LOVE - A - LY. :goodvibes

Squats, lunges, and push-ups (Ahem...Nancy...just sayin')

There is so much in this that reminds me of me when I spent the month in the air cast for my ankle. No sugar coating it, it sucks when you can't exercise and it sucks when you come back from the injury and realize you've been set back. But I totally know you'll be back to kicking butt before you know it. Just listen to your body, I had trouble with that, I always wanted push to get back to pre-injury shape and sometimes my ankle felt it needed a day off. That was a good lesson for me.

:rotfl2:

So from fall 2010 to fall 2011 I cut almost two minutes off my 5k time by just doing boot camp to become stronger and by loosing weight. I feel like that was step one. Now I'm running about 27 minute 5ks. I'm doing boot camp for the strength stuff and then I have five days a week of running. Three days I run a 5k and 2 days I run sprints for however long my 5k time is. So right now I'm at a 27 minute 5k time, I run 27 minutes worth of sprints. I've also cut wayyyy back on my sugar, it was the weak spot of my healthy eating and my trainer has said it's a big factor in my goals.

The last aspect is mental. I am physically really able to do more then what I mentally think I can. So I'm learning to never let myself do just enough, every workout I am having to push myself just a little harder then the one before. Even if the one before was only two days ago. It sounds crazy but really I've learned by body is capable of way more then I was asking it to do.

So the idea is that with all these factors coming together my typical 5k time should be around 24 minutes. I have a fabulous resource with my trainer Kelly and have learned so much from talking to her. I'll keep you guys posted on any results I see with this training plan but I know it's mentally given me drive and made me look at my workouts differently. Right now I'd kill to run a 24 minute 5k too, it just seems so crazy to think Kelly says without a doubt I should be doing a 24 minute 5k.

Hope any of this helps!!

What is Jeff's?

Curious.

Good lord. I leave for like 15 minutes and Red starts having fits. :confused3 Well, Jeff just PRd his 10k time last month at a 7:15. Seven freaking fifteen. So his 5k is under 20.

Mo fo. Cray cray. I feel like I'm a sleepover playing MAD LIBS or trying to converse with Kelly's new mug love.

You do realize that both Riley and Cammie are in Middle School, right? YES...little CAMMIE is in middle school! (It's sick and wrong, truly.) So I am all about the lingo.

Funny story. It was the week before the first day of school and Riley's girlfriend was over helping Cam get ready for middle school. (Middle school is grades 6-8 here, so Cam is in 6th and Riley and his girlfriend are in 8th. And Riley's girlfriend is the most popular girl in the grade...and since she's in the highest grade, that basically makes her the most popular girl in school.) Anyway, she is helping Cam pick out the *perfect* backpack and the *right* shoes and all of that. It was actually much sweeter than it sounds here. Not just based on materialistic stuff. Anyway, then they made a plan--the whole school has a 20-minute break in the middle of the day. So Elizabeth said that she would make it a point to call Cammie over to her group of popular 8th grade girls (which would mean in front of the whole school since everyone is hanging out at break time) and say something like, "OMG, you look totes adorbz today! It's so great to finally have some cool 6th graders..." Thus giving Cam street cred. I was listening to all of this planning from the other room and just giggling like crazy...

Oh for crying out loud. You could have just told me the first time that you liked the taste. But I thoroughly enjoyed going off so :thumbsup2

I'm going to just say thank you instead of being that brat that disagrees. Thank you also for always telling me I look fantastic.

Ugh Brian is like that. He steps on the scale with his nice like abs that he does nothing to have, he just was apparently born with great abs, then he'll look at me and tell me how he's up 15 pounds. Then I get this look like I'm so cute don't get mad.

I'm glad I gave you the chance to go off. BUT don't underestimate my aversion to weird textures. Liked the taste of lots of different rice but hated the textures of a lot of them, I spent years trying to get out of eating them and years having to sit at table till I finished my rice. But I'm choosing taste over texture with the yogurt. If I ever start talking about forcing myself to eat cottage cheese you have my permission to drive to Boston and hurt me.

Ok I'm really going to bed now. Probably.

Man, you guys talk a lot when I'm asleep :rotfl2:

I think, once I can wake up without crying, that I will start a fund in my mom's name to raise money for metastatic research.

I think that would be a fantastic idea!

Kelly- I'm very excited for you on the race. I raised money while running a race for Crohn's disease. (My brother got his Crohn's disease diagnosis five years ago this Christmas Eve.) I think that if the charity is important to you then you need to just ignore those who question it. I will say it made me so proud to wear my jersey with the charity's name on it and to stand with my brother at the finish. I also will say the charity I raised money for helped find the medicine that my brother now takes to let him live a "normal" life. So stick to your charity because it means something and the race will mean more to you.

It is really important to me. I can't wait to wear their vest so everyone knows what I'm raising money for. Its the little things.

And since I'm still somewhat DIS and Facebook challenged:badpc:, please PM me your FB stuff so I can try and find you guys! Gracias!:lovestruc

I'll send you a pm with my name - I do have to warn you though, I am ridiculously sweary on FB, so if you are easily offended.....:rotfl2:

Hi my name is Jo, I use to be a good Dis friend but I lost my way.
My I come back??

:wave2:Hi Jo! Glad you had a great holiday!

Grey's starts here tomorrow and I simply don't care. Poor decisions and writing.

I'm not sure when it starts again over here. Didn't love the ending to the last series.

Hey Kelly! Why aren't you doing the WW meetings with your lifetime. I'm simply curious - nothing more.

Well, at WW here when you get to goal you have a 5lb 'window', meaning you can gain or lose 5lb and you can still go to meetings for free...well I gained 6lb and had to pay so I was like 'F you lady!' :rotfl2:

And Kelly I was going back a page just to make sure I had your WW choice correct and then I thought "Kelly - oh Kelly - you're not showing up in any sex tapes, are you?". :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Please tell me what you see in him. I'm struggling even more than Dirty Dog. So you must tell me straight up. Is it a je ne sais quoi that can only be seen in person? Is it?

I can neither confirm nor deny that it is me in one of those tapes...:rotfl:

It is definitely an 'in-person' thing. Like when I see him on his own on TV, or with the Kardashians, I'm like 'Dude, really?', but in person, when hes with Jay-Z theres just something! Now, he is NO Jay-Z, but then again who is! :confused3

O
KELLY--I adore you on FB! (Well, I adore you period! But I always laugh my a$$ off at your FB comments!) So I feel somewhat caught up with you. :goodvibes

I sometimes think I put too much on FB :rotfl2:

As for me--well. I broke my foot in the middle of the summer. Stress fracture of the meta tarsal. Hurts like a mofo. And I haven't done a stitch of exercise in 3+ months. So I'm as fat as a mofo. Other stuff in life continues on. My summer suckedass for a variety of reasons, but it is over now. I am coaching soccer, cause you know, it's fall. And I live for soccer in the fall. And between the 3 kids, we are currently participating on 7 sports teams this season (5 soccer teams, cross country, and gymnastics). So it is totally cray cray around here. Have I mentioned that is is soccer season??

Jeff has been in Sweden all month, but returns tomorrow. Home for 3 weeks then back again. Thank GOD I work full time from home now (no more going up on campus to be on the JumboTron!) otherwise I wouldn't have a chance in hell of making this work.

xoxox to all! I've really missed being here, so I am going to really try to be more present.

I'm glad you're back! Sorry to hear about your foot :worried:

You DID NOT just break out the banana!!! What the f*ck has been going on around here in my absence? Have we forgotten ALL of the rules?? :rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

Lisa, you were right on re charities. And for the record, Komen=Lame. New rule. They don't support what she DIED of. Oct 13, Metastatic Day. I'll rant then. :)

I once said to someone (probably DH) 'That s**t cray'. Yeah, I'm cool.

So wedding details....

LOVE your bridesmaid dress!

Cute! :cutie:

So, I actually ran on the treadmill last night. Like really ran. Only for 5 minutes but still! I felt like I was going to fly off it. Imagine Bambi, on roller skates, on a treadmill. Thats me! :rotfl:

Love your FB posting Kelly, never offended, but then again, I have a mouth on me too! ;)

Liz, I've been thinking about you. I know we haven't met or spent tons of time talking, but you've been on my mind!

Megan, it sounds like everything fell right into place for the wedding! I like the dress!! I am shooting a wedding next Sunday, it's a small one, outdoors. I normally don't do weddings, but a friend begged me, it's her son and I caved.

Lisa, I support your banana usage, he was feeling so left out and alienated! I actually GASPED when I saw you use him, I remember that was the only rule you girls gave me when I joined this thread! I still have no IDEA why, either! :lmao:

So Rey & I have 39 days before we head to AKL for three nights! (resisting the urge to use the banana. See Lisa, once you use him, it's a slippery slope!) :p

He has been in physical therapy, they decided not to do surgery, and he will do work conditioning (harder PT) for October and then it will be headed back to work (probably right after our trip). Hopefully! Not that I want him to go, I love him home, but there's no other job for him to make the money he makes and stay home.

So, I've lost 20 pounds! 26 since my highest this year! YAY tracking!! My feet are ALMOST better, I'm taping them to run and a couple times I've done 3 miles. I'm trying to pace myself and not push too much. Dallas & I are running a 5K on October 27th, I'll interval run so it's not so hard on the feet. I'm just so pleased to be almost recovered from this PF. :thumbsup2

I have the oddest relationship with that scale now, I need it to give me some measure that I'm on track but at the same time it doesn't paint the whole picture. I'm not at my ideal number but I'm stronger then before. Random number generator, that's what my trainer calls it.

I love this Meg!

Ok, so I totally plead thread bankruptcy! Sorry...it is what it is!

at least *I* READ it and only had to ask for amnesty ;)

AMY/EE/KAT--I'm back, so you have to come back, too! Yeah, I'm bossy like that. But we all know that already. ;)

You heard the woman :goodvibes Come back!

I came on to edit something and there's a friggin party!

Oh no - not a banana party. :scared1:

I can't believe you went there :faint::rotfl:

Oh Mad LIBS - how I loved thee. :goodvibes

 Me too!

So, I actually ran on the treadmill last night. Like really ran. Only for 5 minutes but still! I felt like I was going to fly off it. Imagine Bambi, on roller skates, on a treadmill. Thats me! :rotfl:

OMG Kelly. Be careful! :rotfl2:

So Rey & I have 39 days before we head to AKL for three nights!

YAY! Just the two of you? So awesome!

He has been in physical therapy, they decided not to do surgery, and he will do work conditioning (harder PT) for October and then it will be headed back to work (probably right after our trip). Hopefully! Not that I want him to go, I love him home, but there's no other job for him to make the money he makes and stay home.

So, this means he's improving, yes? Glad to hear that they could avoid surgery. Back surgery sucks.

So, I've lost 20 pounds! 26 since my highest this year!

That is AWESOME Karen!!! <sigh> tracking. That really *is* the key, isn't it.

Meg- I love the wedding update! Fultons sounds like it was just meant to be! And I bet that dress looks really cute on you! How long are you going to be down there?

First my trip..

The girls loved disney, we did BBB they loved it, I had dresses from home they did not even know they were going to BBB or that I had dresses.

We did dinner at 1900PF Alexa just loves Cindy. She wrote her a story and I forgot it in the room, so 1900PF let us come back the next day and give it to her Alexa was so very happy, then the next nigh we saw the SAME Cindy at CRT for dinner, she remember Alexa, OMG that was the best ever.

We did MBYBBQ, The girls really like the dancing, the food was ok, not bad, not wonderful, I would do it again if they girls wanted to.

We did Spirit of Aloha. GROSS.. THe girls loved the show, The girls and I did not like the food. DH loved the food. I woudl so not do that again and I am glad I did not pay for it.

We did CP.. Yummy!! They loved Pooh, and friends. We did Cape May for dinner. I like that alot, the crap legs were small but all the other food was yummy.

We did Tusker House, It was OK. I would not do it again

We did ESPN on our last day, the food was good, bar food. DH was happy.

We got to go into Bells Enchanted Tail. Alexa was picked to play Maurice and Alaina was Portrait, (a frame) then they go into a room and Bell comes in and the "act" out her story. They were so so so happy.

I have tons of pictures, I am still working on my disney photo pass. Once I get that finished and I get the CD I will start my book. I have about 500 plus pictures on our camera too.

I still need to do the photo book from the princess. BUT E, have you ever uploaded your pictures? And if so, do you guys want to wait and I do 2012 & 2013 together? I sometimes get overwhelmed when I have a ton of pictures to pic from, and I know for 2012 you have uploaded ALOT ..

As much as I would like to harass certain people - I simply don't have time right now.

But two very important shout outs - for now:

Karen! Fantastic. Very happy and proud of you. :worship:

Jo! Listen, before I read your post I was already going to ask you about your fitness/weight. You can SO see it in your pictures that you posted from your trip. It's totally visible. Good for you!:thumbsup2

I'm thrilled that so many of you are extending your running into core body weight work.

Well that sounded pompous. :rotfl2: It wasn't meant that way.

I had a wonderful day. I'm up one people. :rotfl:

I can't tell you how that was beyond wonderful but I will. Strange day. Will catch up.
