The Force is Strong in This One: SWW and Celebration VI, Disney Done Differently

Day 3

Same morning routine, different parking lot, but same general area and closer to the elevator!

Today we came armed to handle all kinds of situations. We had his brush for Wilbarger Brushing and joint compressions in case he got over stimulated. We had a blanket for if he got cold. We had food for if he got hungry. And a day that was planned out. First up, the Family Room.

We got off the 2nd elevator and a convention employee stopped us. She tried to convince us to go to see the Clone Wars panel. She said, “there is a surprise for you there, you will like it!” We thanked her for the heads up, but we headed to the Family Room. Heading there, we passed a friend from home and her son. There were on their way there. We told them there’s suppose to be a surprise there. We figured maybe a toy of some sort for attending?

Anakin did his usual at the Family Room. He got a tattoo, had a picture made and made a GNK droid. IF he had chosen a jawa, he would have been on tv.

While we were in here, I got a text from my friend who was at the Clone panel. She said George Lucas just made an appearance!! That was the surprise!!!

Found a flyer for the worship service we were planning to attend on Sunday.

Once again we ate lunch on the run

Anakin saw some different looking stormtroopers that he had never seen before. He went up to them and asked them who they were. They explained that they were to arrest people who had a special card and it was for a raffle. There were no cards left when we went down there. But a nice lady handed hers to Anakin. He didn’t win. That was very sweet of her to give it to him!

Dh didn’t wear a costume this day. He wore a Jabba Palace waste management shirt. Grumpy wore his annual passholder Darth Maul shirt. Anakin wore his Obi-Wan costume again. And I wore a Princess Leia shirt.

We went to see the show Star Wars in 60 minutes. This was one of the highlights of the convention for us. It was 60 minutes of laughter. The funniest Star Wars spoof I have ever seen!! Hard to explain, but there were chairs as space ships. Flotation devices as space ships. It was ingenious!! I’d love to see these actors invited to put on their performance at Star Wars Weekends!!!

We went down to the Exhibition Hall for more Shoot-A-Trooper and to get autographs. Both boys wanted to see Tom Kane (Yoda) and Jake Lloyd (Anakin). We had never met Tom Kane, but we did meet Jake Lloyd in 2004 when he was at SWW. Anakin was an infant.

Here on the DIS boards people have reported in the past that Jake Lloyd isn’t the most friendly or talkative person. We found him to be absolutely delightful. He had a great sense of humor, but if dh and I weren’t both in the medical field we might not have appreciated his sense of humor as much. He seemed to be a very intelligent and thought provoking young man, and he had us laughing with him almost instantly. He was very easy to talk with and the conversation flowed easily. He got a kick out of Anakin.

I told him that we met him years ago at SWW. In a round about way, he very politely said he recognized us. Again, he had us laughing, because the way he said it wasn’t typically how someone would say it and his humor and intelligence really shown through.

He was more than willing to pose for pictures. Again, he impressed me by getting down to Anakin’s level to talk and pose. He just knocked my socks off and had us beaming from ear to ear!

I thought that DH had bought tickets to get Tom Kane’s autograph too, but he didn’t. I knew he soon had a panel to go to, because we were soon heading there to see him in it. I asked him how much longer he’d be there. He said about a half an hour. Dh went up and bought a ticket for autographing and we walked right back up to him. There was no line. I took one picture while he signed the photograph and my camera went dead.

Sounds like you had a great time! Too bad you didn't see George Lucas but I think that you guys enjoyed yourselves just fine without seeing him.

I am betting that the repair person is a mom or big sister. It's nice that she was so patient with Anakin. Loren used to love watching anybody work on things. Now he loves working on things himself.

Could very well be.

Glad you liked your stay ay Pop !!I love it there ,, I am however anxiuos to try AoA!!!!!

Understandable! Now if they would just start offering some discounts, huh?

We sure did!

I thought the same thing about Star Wars in 60 Minutes. It would be great at SWW. I posted on FB that it like watching your children play out the movies in the backyard. So glad ya'll caught it too.

Jake Lloyd sounds really nice.

Sorry your camera died. I'm really enjoying your pics, funny how we both saw different things.

Anakin had some cluster seizures this morning. While he is taking it easy and doing fine now, I thought I'd post an update, so that is soon to come.

yay for more wookie dust! Anakin looks so happy!

Yes! Very happy!

He made something for Megan. I am really bad at getting stuff out in the mail, but when I finally do, she will be getting some Star Wars soap. His new hobby.

I so hope that Disney considers inviting them to perform during SWW. That would be awesome!!

Were we at the same place? LOL. There was just so much to do at all times, lots of different options!

I am sorry to hear about the seizures. I am glad to hear he is taking it easy and doesn't seem to be showing any side effects.

All caught up! :thumbsup2

He is allergic to oak pollen and does take allergy medicine when it's that season. So right now, that shouldn't be a problem.
The other kids were amazing. They are all homeschoolers aged 8 to 18. They all encouraged each other with positive feedback. It was so nice to see them get along so well. It was a great learning environment!

Ugh, I am terribly allergic to oak pollen as well, and it is everywhere here. Raleigh's nickname is "The City of Oaks" and man, I love it here but hate that about it. :rotfl2: I get allergy shots now though and they've really helped a lot. Glad to hear his acting classes are going well, I still think that's really neat. :goodvibes

Update on Anakin. I got a call yesterday from his neurologist. We go there next week. His lab results came back that his vitamin D levels are still too low.
Yesterday he was a bit out of sorts. He cried alot. And at the drop of a hat. He said it was a sad day. I kept showing him all the happy things around us. He finished his Chewbacca bird feeder which got a smile. Hopefully today he will be back to his normal joyful self.

Sorry to hear Anakin's Vitamin D levels are too low and he was unhappy. I hope he gets his levels back in check, that should help him feel better.

The little ewok in this picture quickly became friends with Anakin. She had alot of spunk and a sense of humor. At one point she told Anakin that he can be glad he dressed as a bounty hunter, because if he had dressed as a stormtrooper she would have bit his arm off. It took all Goofy had not to die laughing. Anakin just said, "I guess that is good I dressed as Boba Fett."

Oh goodness, she sounds like a character. LOVE IT! :lmao:

The show started. It was partly him explaining his roles and part movie clips. They showed a movie clip of him getting his face cast for make up. It was the same type of stuff they put in your mouth for dental imprints. But this was all over his face. Eventually he only had two little pin holes as nose holes. This was more than Anakin could take.

He took off his Boba Fett cape and made it into a blindfold so he couldn't see the screen. He put his mask over top. He whispered to me that he is going to sleep because this is too much. So he took almost an hour nap.

Wise move! :thumbsup2 He is doing better in some ways than I would have done at his age (and much older), I usually insist on getting out of scary situations. :sad2:

He had a problem on Sunday night. We were on the monorail and he started drooling like crazy. Soaked the collar of his shirt. He could have used a bib. I held a wad of tissues at his mouth. Not sure what happened, but even when he talked his mouth was filled. It really bothered him. Since it was out of the ordinary and never happened before, we gave him his emergency med when he said he felt dizzy. We headed over to the fairies since it had a long line. That gave him lots of time to cool down. We did not go on any rides. Just saw the fairies (Tink and Periwinkle), ate supper, then played a round of Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom before heading back to the room.

How strange. :worried: I hope that is a one-time deal, sounds like it was handled pretty well though. That must have been scary for everyone!

Hoping and praying Anakin is doing better.

Thanks you two! He had a much better night last night. He is still sound asleep. There has been some twitching, but none of that strong jerking that was going on yesterday morning.

I was going to post an update yesterday, but when I went to pull it up from my flash drive it said the file was corrupted. So I have to rewrite it again.

Meredith, it's great to see you back again. I hope all is well, and school is going great!

Michele, hope things are looking better today than yesterday!

Day 3 Continued

My camera battery died, thankfully my cell phone still had battery! The boys enjoyed the autograph session with Tom Kane.

I didn't always have my camera handy, but when I did thoughout the day, I tried to take pictures. There were just so many amazing costumes. From the simplist to the most complicated. Here are a few things that caught my eye on Day 3

Very cool that you stayed at Pop recently. I do love it there. :goodvibes Kinda weird though about the maintenance. I would think they would do that when the room was not occupied.

Sorry to hear that Anakin has been having more struggles. That just isn't fair..or fun for either of you!

Looks like some good interactions again. I am totally not aware of who any of these people are... but I am sure that for Anakin seeing them all must be an experience!!! Oh.. but I do recognize one name... George Lucas?! Wow.. so did you get to see him? Or was it just a short surprise appearance?

Nope we did not get to see George Lucas. My friend and her son got to see him at the panel they attended. It was a dream come true for her son!

Tom Kane is the voice of Yoda. It was very unexpected to see this actor over 6 feet tall be the voice of little Yoda.

Jake Lloyd is the actor who portrayed the boy, Anakin Skywalker in Episode 1.

OHHHH, like in the movie movie? :confused3 I get so confused with all the animated stuff...old movies..new movies.

LOL, Yes!! The movie movie!!! This would be the first movie of the prequels. It's confusing. They started with Episode IV, V, and VI, then made I, II, and III. He was from I.

Hi! :) Catching up from vacation! Love Day 3 - Anakins interaction with Jake Lloyd was pretty cool. I agree great on Jake's part for getting down to a childs level and interacting with them. So much more special for a child.

So sorry to hear Anakin had seizures recently. Sounds like they have calmed down. Sure hope so.

Would you stay in the 50's section again? Would you recommend for adults without kids?

It depends what you are looking for. If you want peace and quiet, I would suggest building 3 in the 50's section, lake view. They are standard rooms, and have very little foot traffic.

We were in room 3134 and could see Epcot fireworks from our room. Little Mermaid section was right across the lake from us, so we had a beautiful view.

His seizures have been less frequent since we switched to a pediatric neurologist in March. He had a nasty set of clusters on Friday night. And another seizure on Sunday night last week. He use to have them almost every night. So this is a huge improvement!!

I hope that we will soon be able to say we are a month seizure free again. that was the longest stretch we went!

Glad to hear Anakin is doing better and hope you reach that month of seizure free soon.

Love all of your pics of the different characters.

I'm still mad the boys decided not to go to the Clone Wars panel, I would have had us there. That makes twice we would have seen George Lucas, but we ended up not going to the event he was at. The last time was the Last Tour to Endor in DHS a couple of years ago.

Thanks - even though we don't have kids (except the furry kind), we love being around them so it doesn't bother us to have them around. But wanted to be in a part that we would like. I love the 50's and will check out this area!!!

Praying for a seizure free month again!! Glad they have reduced - how scary for you all.

Have a great day!!:goodvibes

oh how sweet of Anakin to make Megan some soap :goodvibes

sorry he had some issues during the trip, hoping the seizures will stop again!

day 3 looks like a fun, fun day...cool he got to meet Yoda! my oldest DB does a great Yoda impression!
