Hello from the Poly!! I have pics to post when I get home! We had a great stay in Hawaii! Great week now we are off to the Disney Dream for a quick cruise fix!

There was a discussion a while back about the bread pudding at Ohana. I ate there twice this week and it's pineapple coconut bread pudding with a banana fosters caramel sauce. I asked 3 different times just to make sure since many of you swore it was banana bread pudding. I don't care what it is... It was yummy!

It's referred to as bananas foster bread pudding, so that's why many people shorten the name. No, there are no actual bananas in the bread pudding itself. :)

Digital single-lens reflex camera! Fancy huh? Means BIG CAMERA WITH LOTS OF DIALS! :lmao: Just kidding it really isn't that bad! lots of automatic settings!!
If you want PM me to help?

I would assume there's egg. And I have to tell you... Not one of the servers called it that. They called it pineapple coconut bread pudding with bananas foster caramel sauce.

Yes, bread pudding has eggs in it.

I wasn't talking about servers - I was referring to fans of the dish including many Dis'ers. What difference does it make?

Agreed! :thumbsup2

OK I have been reading, dreaming and drooling over all the great pictures and information on this thread. The latest trip updates are awesome! Glad you are having a great time. We are all living thru you and your wife for a couple of days.

My family and I are going over the Christmas holiday to the Polynesian for the first time staying in one of the Ambassador suites. Not sure to request the first or second floor- large patio on first or balcony on second.

I have also been suffering extreme withdrawals- two years since last trip (also at Christmas so I know what its like- absolutely wonderful). But have just discovered a site link found on the great Tikimans website that will help transform all of your withdrawal symptoms. It is reedycreekradio- just hit the “listen now” button and you are magically transformed - the link is: reedycreekradio “dot” com ( could not post the exact link- website will not allow me- I only have five post- you need at least ten for that)

Have a great rest of your trip and fight the tears at the end of main street USA for the last time. It is not very manly- been there done that.

That last picture of whatever they want to call that fabulous desert is totally unfair- You can almost taste it but then, we can’t.

Will be waiting for any updates.

Rob

One more thing- sorry for the crane being in all of your castle picks- it needs to put up all of those beautiful Christmas lights for our vacation!

Rob

Haven't been to Ohana yet, but after seeing that dessert.................I think It's on my must do list now!!!

Oh My.............I just hit the Listen Now button...................My entire office is being welcomed to magic kindgom!!!!

I could cry.

Thanks for that link!!

You are welcome- it made my day when I discovered it- listening to Mator know singing in his new tractor ride out in Radiator Springs CA.

I am also having trouble booking Ohana for an ADR at a reasonable time- the earliest is 9:15 for my entire stay- we have a total of nine in my party, then it grows to 13 after the 25th . All of my previous experiences staying at 4 and 5 star resorts-the CM’s where able to perform some magic to get us into restaurants. I thought Disney gave you more pixie dust with the more you spend on your vacation.

Have not given up just digging in to hopefully to persevere.

Since we all now know how much it cost to stay at the Polynesian!

Rob

Thanks for the reedycreekradio.com link, awesome! I downloaded the app and I'm listening to it right now!
You are staying in a Ambassador suite "SWEET"! :rotfl:
I think Disney at Christmas time is the best! That's my vote anyways!

We just got back from the pool to find that the RFID locks are installed in the Hawaii longhouse. They work beautifully.

Anyway, it's time to get ready for our last dinner. We're out of here at 7:00 tomorrow morning:sad: I'll post more photos and thoughts on the week when I get home. It hasn't been a very photogenic week because it's been mostly cloudy and gray, but I'm sure I'll have some shots that are worth posting.

I know how you feel!! We just got home...bittersweet for sure. We are still riding high on the pictures, but I know in a couple of days we will be in hard core "missing the Poly" mode. Wish I knew what you looked like! Maybe our paths crossed! We were in Tokelau, awesome room #2912. I will post a pic of the view...::yes::

Confession Time.

We recently got home from a Disney trip. Usually we stay at the Poly, but this time we stayed at...Beach Club . It's a nice resort, my DD & DH loved the pool & we had a nice vacation. But I missed the Poly & am now trying to come up with a way to go back to stay there:scratchin. There's just no place like home, Poly home :lovestruc.

40 lashings with a wet noodle!

During our trip in 2010 we took a walk from Epcot to the YC/BC to check out the resorts. The resorts looked really nice and the fact that you can just walk to Epcot is so cool! DH, DD & I talked about maybe staying at the YC or BC one day - or even doing a split stay with the Poly - but we all agreed that our hearts are with the Poly and that's the only place we'll probably ever stay.

I considered a split stay between poly and BC too. But we ended up booking poly for the whole 11 nights since we have free dining! :cool1: I am thinking of walking from Epcot to BC to just check it out too. How long is the walk?

We visited the BC in July and walked to Epcot. It was literally 5 minutes! Very cool! :thumbsup2

We are actually doing a YC/POLY split in April. YC for first 5 nights, the Poly CL for last 5 nights!
