Kerri~ From Davis would tack an extra 1 hour each way - that stinks I hope your friend has fun. I am sure we will have a good time, but we will probably pass out once we get home.

I know. lol I think he's staying at his girlfriends in Sac the night before so that puts him closer, but I don't think he'll make dinner or mini golf after. His girlfriend is coming though....haha

So I am leaving for Vegas baby, in a few hours!!! We will be at the Mandalay Bay.

The DHs will be at the Barrett Jackson auction and my dear friend and I
will be relaxing by the pool with umbrella drink and book in hand.

We always get chairs by the lazy river, and the cabanas. So all day long we "people watch" the rafters float by, and partiers at the cabanas. It really is quite fun!

I feel your pain. I've been out of work for 8 months. Try not to get down, and keep yourself busy. I apply for everything I can find every week day, help out my parents and spend weekends hiking (it's free and fun and great exercise). Keeping active helps avoid depression for me. And something will come up, it has to.

I was out of work for 10 months, it was hard but my unemployment made it doable. I spent a lot of time cleaning the house and making jewelry and lots of good dinners. I mostly enjoyed it but I was glad to get back to work.

Speaking of, work is insanely busy!! So much going on right now. My night job (dance instructor) has offered me all Sundays, all Mondays and all Fridays next month and another bar wants me to teach for them.......phew.....LOL

This day next week I will be going to Disneyland!!!!! I can't wait to see friends, go on rides, check out Carsland for the first time, and take in all the Halloween fun.

LOL that's hilarious. I have a friend who signed my birthday card last year by saying "welcome to cougar town" LOL I told him I was going to take it as a compliment. haha

1 day closer to Friday but I really just want it to BE Friday......longest week ever.....lol I think I said that last week too. haha Tonight after work I need to go get gift bags for my BFF's birthday gifts, her party is Saturday. I'm tired and I need to sleep for a long time. I also have to pay bills, schedule 2 dine & donate fundraisers, do laundry (because I didn't do it Tuesday) and figure out what exactly I'm wearing to the BFF's party. She always has everyone dress up and then we do dinner and something fun after, this year she picked mini golf, so dinner and then mini golf with the girls in dresses and heels and the guys in nice pants and ties. lol It's a good time.
Made tacos for dinner last night, not sure what I'll make tonight, I do need to clean out the fridge. hmmmm another chore to do tonight. hahaha I'm thinking of seeing if Micah wants to go to a movie tomorrow night, we haven't done that for a while.

Hello Ladies and happy almost Friday. I'm pretty excited about that myself!

Katie, I am so sorry about your recent challenges, but so happy that you have a wonderful partner helping you get through it!

For those of you out of work, I was there for a full 2 years! I am back to work now and loving it, although it is crazy with kids schedules and still trying to run the household etc. Thank God I have a husband that does laundry and chores too, otherwise I don't know how we would manage. Darn kids take a stick of dynamite to get any work out of them! Could be because they are so darn busy too! I need an Alice I tell you...

I was uploading a photo to photobucket and I saw that my blackberry that died on my trip had sent all my photos there. Yeah!

And I am so sorry I have been absent so much. Life has been incredibly busy and much is going on that I will catch you all up on at some point. It does involve this though, and your positive thoughts are much appreciated:

So, I may be sorry I asked, but what do I need to know/bring with me to be a Diva? I'm working on getting the pink shirt from last year. How does the gift exchange at the meet/greet work? Is there a theme to the gifts, or criteria about what you purchase?

Is there anything special about the lime green or grey shirt days - are they all some sort of Disney shirt?

Do you do tours together or the dessert buffet?

BTW - I'm totally bummed that I can't come to the Halloweentime trip. That is my favorite time at DL. Do you do that every year?

Hello. . Dropping in over here! All is well. Just busy with work and my daughters school schedule. Putting her in the school we did we have to take her. I know 10 miles is not a long way but in LA county it can be with traffic!

Have you ever done a white elephant game at Christmas? It's along those lines. It's optional. But, if you bring a gift you will get to play the game and leave with another gift.


Is there a theme to the gifts, or criteria about what you purchase?
There is. That information will be announced as it gets just a bit closer. There will be a theme and dollar amount announcement. Also, don't forget to be shopping for your best redneck attire to wear to the party!

Those are just for fun, a way to keep the group coordinated for photos and such. They can be Disney if you want. For example, if you have a gray Mickey tee, feel free to use that. Or just keep it solid, either way. Lime green is a tradition each year in honor of the DIS lime green color. Gray was just the color we picked to use this year. (Sort of like 50 Shades of Gray, haha) In the past we've done red, blue, teal, etc.

Do you do tours together or the dessert buffet?

There is a new Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour that a couple of the ladies are thinking of taking this year. Sign-ups for that, and any other group activities as it gets closer. No one has done the dessert buffet as part of this trip, that I can recall. I think one year it was planned and they were rained out or it was canceled for some reason. I wasn't there for that.

Typically we'll do at least one group photo a day, and several group meals. We do NOT even attempt to keep the entire group together all day, every day. With over 70 ladies that would be impossible. After the group activities, or meals, people tend to break off into smaller groups based on their ride preferences, shopping desires, etc.

As it gets closer, I will be starting sign-ups for the phone list. Anyone who wants to can send me their cell phone number and it will be added to a master list. Then, everyone who signed up, will be receive one of the lists as a handy way to keep in touch with everyone while in the parks.

There are mini meets throughout the year, including around the holidays. Usually it's very informal, whomever is going to be around during a certain time will meet up.

The Fantasmic Dessert did get cancelled last trip. Anyone interested in doing it this trip? I haven't done it yet and was sorry it got cancelled last time.
