*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

I did my touring plan using easyWDW calendar as a reference. I will loosely follow his advices regading which attractions to do first but my plan is to arrive early and leave late, taking a midday break but not leaving the parks.

I am going to use the same crowd calendar for my friends trip as well. We used it when we were in DW this past April - and we had a great trip! :thumbsup2 When you say taking a midday break, but not leaving the parks, what does that mean exactly? :confused3

Our ADRs are booked between 1 and 2PM so our plan is to take our time with lunch then not ride anything, just sit around and relax, no rides, no walking, just people watching for at least one hour, we also love to window shop so maybe stroll around the Emporium/Mouse Gear to browse all the cool stuff. Just no big rides, no walking like mad men from here to there, to really take it easy while still being in the park.

This could change of course, my mom will be 70yo and if she decides she needs real break ie, sleeping for a while, I'll definitely drop it all and take her back to our room. It's all about my mom this time around, it's her first trip and I wanna make it very special for her. :goodvibes

easyWDW have some more elaborated touring plans for AK, DHS and EPCOT with each rides to do first and what can be left for a later part of the day. I plan to read them and take some notes, but they will not guide our entire day.

Looks like we are going to try to make another trip happen. My DS's birthday is the day before Mardi Gras and since my kids have the week off we are going to try to head to Disney!

The dates we are planning to be in WDW are Feb. 9-14. Not sure which resort yet. Wilderness Lodge is calling my name, and we were thinking Fort Wilderness could be a fun alternative! My son's 7th/8th grade class trip to DC in May is dictating that we need to make our Disney trip a little less expensive, so we'll probably have to go with a moderate. Thinking of one of the Port Orleans resorts, it is Mardi Gras after all!

Got our ADRs all made, my sister in law and her family, as well as some of our friends, are also going to be there. Now just waiting on discounts!

YEAH BABY! I can join this thread now--booked the flights a couple days ago! :cool1: February 25-March 1. Most likely staying at Port Orleans French Quarter again. :D

Only one ADR booked so far: Be Our Guest on the 25. Will be definitely booking Garden Grill. Not sure what else yet, though. :) I have 2-3 more places to decide on!

Good morning Disney fans! I'm bumping this thread to get us back on the screen. I know we're all busy getting back into our usual fall routines. And our leader has a brand new baby to take care of; hope all is well.

Hi all!

I have officialy booked my february trip! We're supper excited. We'll be at AoA LM room, with a DxDDP. I'm making my ADR now. I just booked BBB and royal table, at super good times (better than the online options, actualy!).

So we'll be there from feb. 3rd to the 9th. It's our first family disney vacation (I've been there before I had kids). I hope we can make the most of it.

Here are my, so far, ADR:

3rd: Akershus at 6:30

4th: CP 8:45
Tony's: 6:15 (so we are not far from the parade)

5th: chef mickey 8:50am

6th: Hollywood & Vine 8:20am

7th:
Tusker House Restaurant 9:10am (will try to change for earlier if possible)

8th: BBB 8:30
CRT: 12:20

Since it's off season, unless a free dining occurs, we'll try to walk-up the rest.

We will be there the same dates, staying at POP!

For those who usually go on February tell us more about rain during your visit.

I can handle the cold, but cold and rain is not something I can stand!

This year was our only time to go to WDW in February (part of the week before President's weekend.) We had wonderful, sunny days and chilly nights. February is much less apt to have rain than the summer months. But we have gone further south in FL every February for about the past 8 years and 2010 and 2011 were very cold and quite a bit of rain. So you never know... I just start checking the extended forecast the final 2 weeks before our trip and pack accordingly.

So excited to be able to join this thread! We're headed to the Beach Club Feb 3-7 with a Disney cruise Feb 7-10. This is our first Disney cruise, but our second trip to WDW in February--and my SIL's 6th (?) February trip. We think February has great park weather--generally not too hot or cold. When we last went the weather was mid to high 60's every day--two days it warmed up into the 70's and we were all able to swim. (Other days the kids enjoyed swimming in those lovely heated pools, but not me!) We ended up feeling chilled at night--definitely pack your sweaters or light jackets. I think the forecast when we were packing called for warmer weather, but it ended up being a bit cooler than expected--so keep that in mind. My SIL has been to WDW in February when the weather was in the 80s and they swam every day, and she has never made a trip when they couldn't swim at least one day. As far as rain goes, I believe I've read that February is one of the driest months in Orlando (along with Nov, Jan & Dec). We had brief showers one day (the warmest day, actually) and then one very rainy day--our sneakers & jeans were soaked, but our Disney ponchos kept the rest of (mostly) dry. The other days were clear and sunny. I'm interested in hearing what others have to say about February weather--so excited for this trip!

Like I said in another thread, it makes me laugh when people say it's cold in february.

Dude, I'm from Montréal. I live under 6 feet of snow in february. 50's are nowhere near cold. You can't even see your breath at that weather!

Exactly!! We live in Manitoba, so I get what you mean 100%!

That made me laugh. I'm in MinneSNOWta - a little south of you - but yeah, 50s in Feb would be short sleeves and no coats around here.

I'm from Minnesota, so I'm no stranger to -20 below zero PLUS a windchill. However, a word of experience. We went to Disney in Dec. 2010 during a record cold snap, with lows in the upper 20s and highs only in the mid-30s. Everything at home is set up for cold weather. When we were in Disney it wasn't that way. Plus, we were outside a lot more. We checked the long term forecast and packed accordingly. We were so glad to have all our hats and gloves.

Its official,

we have booked at POP for February 5-13.

February 6th dinner at Garden Grill
February 7th dinner at Chef Mickeys
February 8th dinner at Arkersus
February 9th dinner at Portobellos (DTD)
February 10th dinner at 1900 fare
February 11th lunch at hollywood and vine
February 12th dinner at crystal palace

Continuing with the weather theme, how do you pack for February? I was thinking layers and warm socks.

BTW, does the resorts offer extra blankets? I know, I know it's a laughable matter for some, but being from below the equator line anything below 55F is indeed too cold for me!
