Nov. 4th, 2012 Dream cruise meet thread!

New to these forums. Finding it fun to read and it's renewing the excitement for the upcoming cruise. This will be our fourth DC, 2nd time on the Dream. Disappointed that Remy's brunch is booked up. We named our 4-year old son after Remy from Ratatouille... so at some point we are going to HAVE to eat there.

We are also DVC and looking forward to staying at Saratoga after the cruise. I only wish Fantasyland was opened!!

Call me crazy, but I'm reading that "watch for thieves" thread and getting skeptical about making anything for my door, let alone sew up a special FE for my door! Plus, I'd hate for anyone not to receive the gifts we've made/bought for them too! Is there a certain time frame that we should plan to leave/look for gifts in our FE to make sure they aren't sitting outside for all to see for hours? Sad that happens, but looks like it is pretty common according to people on that thread. :confused3 If I'm crazy, or being way over-paranoid, let me know. :lmao:
We have been on 6 cruises and no issues (knock on wood:thumbsup2)

Welcome and thanks for sharing your experience! DH is a big Bronco fan and was so happy today when I told him that any and all games would be available on the ship. :cloud9: I think I made his day. He's a sports guy so I expect to find him at 687 quite a bit. ;) Also loved that your DH liked the rainforest room too. Still haven't convinced him of that yet! And also an :lmao: to the sea sickness/empty stomach/mixology classes.

Did you happen to do any of the cooking lesson classes?
We did one about 3 years ago, our friends did a ravioli one this past cruise.

Go to the assigned area ( it was Royal Palace in Sept) to book REMY brunch as soon as you board the ship you should not have any problems, we didn't

We are looking at booking with our cousins who are from Ohio. I am seeing alot of people from Ohio so they will be thrilled:cool1:. We are fresh off the DREAM for the 2nd time 2 weeks ago:thumbsup2 so if anyone has any questions let me know.

Do you have your Navigators that you can share? I'd love to look and get a general idea of when things are happening.

We didn't have any trouble with our last cruise but I think using zip ties are a good idea. If you were trying to have the items in the pouches for the shortest amount of time I would think dropping them off about an hour before the main dinner seating. Otherwise I would think it would be too hard to try and figure out a good time (except maybe if you are an exceptionally early riser and distribute before people wake up).

I do have the navigators but I do not know how to post pictures here, I could e mail them or any other ideas you have?

A new navigator was posted from the 9/2/12 4 night Dream on this great site that I found when looking for info. I can't put the link in, but if you google "dream 4 night navigator" and select the first website, you will find it. Just click on "Activity Lists (Navigators)" and then on "Bahama 4/5 Night" to view a whole list of them. :)

I saw in earlier posts that there were possible credits for Florida residents... I wanted to post a confirmation of this info. I'm so glad I saw that!!! I emailed a party from Florida we are travelling with and after contacting their TA they got $1200 back. This thread has literally paid off!

If any of you made last minute reservations for this cruise and would like to be part of a small FE group, I would like to put together one for those that missed the cut off for the first group.

On the cruise I have Myself, DH, DS (13), DD (11) and DS (8). We were in a FE group our last Dream cruise and our kids would be extremely disappointed if we were not part of one this cruise, it was one of their highlights coming back to the room and finding new treasures in the bag.

If anyone is interested, please PM me or post here. I know the cruise is quickly approaching!!:cool1: I'm thinking we keep it simple but fun for all!

OR, if you are part of the original FE group and have some extra goodies for the FE, I will gladly reciprocate with just your family. I just want to work a little magic for my kids.

Thanks!
Karen

Thanks! I was about to download them all and will be scouring them to make some preliminary decisions.

Does anyone know the number to call to find out what movies will be playing when we are sailing?

Those would be from the same cruise we were on 9/2-9/6:)

I didn't know that there was a number to call. That's great! I looked online and saw that Frankenweenie and Wreck it Ralph, come out in October and guessed they might be playing?

Btw, never heard of wreck it Ralph until I saw it. But it's on Disney's site! Lol

We would love to join your FE. We have never done it before and I think the kids would LOVE it. We do have a large group.....3 rooms, 4 adults and 7 children. Let me know if we can join....I can't wait to start planning my gifts

Great!! Happy to have you! You are the first family to join in besides ours, so hopefully we'll find a few more folks in the coming days.

If you want to PM me your room numbers, names and ages (of kids), I will add you in.

Looking forward to it!

Sorry I can't PM since I don't have 10 posts yet. I can email you if you are comfortable giving me your email address?

How is everyone getting their FE gifts to the ship? I've started working on mine and I think we'll have to ship ours ahead of time to our resort and then take it from there. Has anyone ever shipped a package to their resort? Will we have any problems carrying the FE gifts onboard?

Hmm...good question! I think we are going to bring a carry-on with all our cruise specific items in it - including the FE and FE gifts, and mostly shoes :rotfl2:. Then I don't plan on touching that carry on until we board the ship. I hope that plan helps me stay organized!

I've also read on another forum that you can ship the box to directly to the cruise as well and mark it with your date and stateroom number and it will arrive in your room with luggage.

Hoping some veteran cruisers can enlighten us on bringing the gifts on board with us.
