Ugh... I'm confused. Is the monorail running for EMH or not? I see that it does run for MNSSHP, is this correct? :confused3 I miss the old days, when it just ran, if something was open, it was running (or at least that's how I remember it :lmao:).

We were there in June. It did not run for EMH. We took the launch back to the resort from MK.

A vote here for plain old garden view! We are in Tokelau garden view right now and have a lagoon view...we can see the beach, boat dock, GF, it's lovely! So there are some nice garden view rooms!:goodvibes[/QUOTE we have a garden view booked , have stayed in tahiti and had a lagoon view and were able to see the castle from our balcony as well. Really enjoyed watching the fireworks from our room but this trip would like to save a few dollars and opted for the gv, glad to hear praise for gv as Ive been second quessing my choice,:woohoo:

oopps dont know what happened on my last post kinda looks like 1 post without quote I must have done somethimg wrong!:confused3

When we went last year it was right after the limited monorail hours stopped and they didn't open it for MNSSHP which caused a whole mess of problems for my mom and I because she's in an ECV and we had to take a bus back. By October they were running it for the party. I would assume they'd follow suit this year, but you never know with Disney.

During EMH, as posted above, the monorail does not run.

Thank you! Do you know which one of these are the best to request?

All have their own benefits, it simply depends on your personal preferences. Samoa and Niue is between both pools and the GCH and boat launch. Niue is smaller, but not by much.

Rarotonga is between the GCH and bus stop and close to the quiet pool, but still close to the volcano pool. It is larger than Samoa and Niue.

My personal preference would be Samoa because of its proximity to the pools, but that is my preference. If your goal is to be near the GCH,

Rarotonga is practically attached to it on the west end. On the east end you are just a short walk to the bus stop. You could request a north view and see the quiet pool or you could have a south view and watch the monorail slide by.

Hope that provides some insight.:goodvibes

We are going to WDW 11/27-12/1. I am currently booked at POFQ, but am thinking of moving to the Poly. We've only ever stayed at WL and POP, but with the discounted rates I thought it would be a great opportunity to try the Poly.

I'm not sure what room to book. These are the rates I see that we would consider:

Standard view: $1,402
Garden view CL: $1,874
Theme Park view (not CL): $1,890

Is the Garden CL or Theme Park view worth the extra $$? If so, which would you choose? TIA!

We booked TPV because we have free dining so not likely to use the CL lounge much for food.

In 59 hours, we'll be boarding! Eeeeeek!

I haven't packed yet. I might wanna get on that...

Ha!!! Yah! You might want to get on that!
I'm assuming it's still hotter than hades down there, just pack a bathing suit and toothbrush and you will be fine!:lmao:

Just checking the extended forecast and NOT liking it - hopefully it changes, but if not, we'll still be in Disney

It's kind of crazy to think that I'll be getting up in less than 12 hours to head to the airport!!! I say "getting up", I don't know if I'll have to. I may just BE up.

We are thinking of going in maybe Jan or maybe nov before thanksgiving. We have always gone week after thanksgiving so we can see the Christmas decorations but i think next time it will be one of these 2 times. Its just a matter of which is better.

We are looking highly at the POLY. I know its going through some refurb over the next year so when we go it might be different but anyway.
Which of the areas is the best? We were wanting to be close to TTC but also thought it would be cool to see the beach at night. Some say its cool to see the monorail pass by your window or balcony all the time too.

suggestions ideas?

If it's in your budget book LV or TPV and request Tahiti. You will be close to the TTC and be on the beach (although there is no guarantee of a particular longhouse when you make a request)
