2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival *HAS ENDED*

1) Yes. You must wait until the 14th to book the 3D Dessert Party.

2) Yes. If you're booking as DVC according to what was posted earlier, that someone got from Disney, you have to call DVC Member Services. They open at 8, the other line opens at 7, but there will likely be a lot more people calling the public line. I get to work at 8, I'm calling DVC.

3) There will be a link probably on WDW's website. Exactly where on WDW's website, can't be sure yet, but most likely HERE:

Couple of questions...

I want to book a demo (Robert Irvine) and the 3D Dessert Party.

1) Can only the demo be booked early on the 10th, 3D not until the 14th?
Yes, the AP/DVC/TiW advance access on August 10 is only for Culinary Demos, Beverage Seminars, and Mixology.

1a) Can the early booking only be done via phone? I'm all 3 AP/DVC/TIW, do you think it matters to call the FEST or DVC line at 8:00?
Robert Irvine's Culinary Demo is likely to be the first one to sell out. I think it matters to call in as early as possible. For most Culinary Demos, there will still be availability weeks or months from now. But not for Robert Irvine.

2) Assuming 3D can't be booked until the 14th, I read that can be booked online and phone. Will the booking for the 3D be on the main dining page, look on the F&W page for a link??

Thanks
It currently seems you'll be able to book online or by phone. Disney has used different online booking engines over the past few years. I assume F&W events will be available from the main main WDW dining page, but we probably won't really know exactly how it will work until August 14.

Thanks. But I thought both lines opened at 8:00 am EST (that's what I thought I saw listed in the first post)?. I thought 7:00 was the time for the general booking on the 14th, but both opened at 8:00 tomorrow for the early booking.

I guess I'll try FEST at 7:00 and if FEST is still closed ring both FEST and DVC at 8:00 on different phones and see which picks up first.

Thank you so much for maintaining this thread, it has so much good info!

Looking at the schedule for culinary demos Lobster and Scallop is happening on the only day it would work with our schedule to do it. What exactly do you get at the culinary demos? Is it just a presentation and a small sample or is there ore to it?

I think I know the answer to this but, is there any age limit on the culinary demonstrations? My 16 year old would love to go to one, unless of course it is fish, then we might have a problem.

For some reason, I went back and must be overlooking where someone spoke with Member services today and said they open early tomorrow for bookings of the semi/demi-nars. Anyone know how early? I'm just wondering, because DVC Member Services recently changed their opening hours to 9:00 am, so I'm wondering if they'll be opening at 7:00 with everyone else, tomorrow, an hour early at 8:00, or their usual time of 9:00.

There's no age limit.

The Culinary Demos usually include wine, but, of course, Disney checks IDs and does not serve to anyone under 21. There is no reduction in price for a minor. (In some cases, the minor's wine glass is served to a parent who then gets to enjoy a little extra wine.)

I think most young children would be bored by the Culinary Demo, but some teenagers would find them interesting and would enjoy the food.

I read a post on the DVC boards where someone was told by the CM that Friday they would open at 8 AM to take reservations for Food and Wine Seminars and demos.

Thanks! Guess I'll be calling in at 5:00am with everybody else for 7:00 am EST ...I can imagine the Robert Irvine seminar will be sold out during that 1 hour gap!

Probably asked But I'm on call this week and with my fried brain didn't see it- is it possible to do a 5p culinary demo and a 6p mixology on the same day?

Absolutely yes.

Demos last around 45 minutes. That gives you about 15 minutes to leave the Culinary Demo area and get in line at the Beverage Seminar area where the Mixology sessions are also held. The Festival Center where both are located is the old Wonders of Life pavilion. It's not that big.

There will already be a line, but many guests wait until the last minute to get in line because there's really not much advantage to sitting close to the front.
