Concierge/Club Level Information- Part IV, July 2012

Today I wanted to add a day (early) to my AKL cl, but CL rooms were all booked for aug 27 :scared1:
That's low season, when crowds dwindle, so wasn't expecting that!!!

I have a couple of questions about the itinerary I received from the IPO.

1. It lists our flight info and talks about the ME. We didn't have the info when I originally booked the resort reservation but did have it when filling out the IPO questionnaire. Do I still need to contact ME with my flight info.

2. I had emailed the IPO a room request. Wasn't on the itinerary. Is this information typically on there.

Thanks! I am feeling like I am in a planning lull and now obsessing about the details of stuff I have already done/booked.

1. I would check on the Disney website under your reservation and make sure DME is listed there, if it is, you know you are OK and no need to contact DME (or email IPO back and ask if you need to contact them or if they had done it for you)

2. My room requests were not on either of my CL itineraries but both times they were met (and at CR Paul even made sure we had an awesome room since the 1st one fit my requests but a better one was available)

AKL CL seems to book up pretty fast I've noticed, I'm not sure what the total number of rooms is but you've got to factor in DVC CL too which probably cuts it down.

We loved the OFC and thought the food offerings were great and the CMs were amazing.......I'm sure your DH will love it too :goodvibes. RPC is pretty pricey, but a good discount makes it a little easier to take ;).
Very true. We have the 35% BB offer. The difference between WL & RPC Honeymoon rooms...over $250/nt. So I'll try WL this time. Splurge fo RPC after construction :goodvibes

You won't need to do anything else with Magical Express. IPO puts all yourinfo in the system. And if you emailed your room request, the IPO does note that on your reservation. But they sometimes suggest that you remind them within 2 weeks of arrival (perhaps that's when they start assigning rooms)

And I understand about trip obsessing :thumbsup2

I hear you on RPC and the cost :faint:. I am trying to decide between GF RPC, AKL CL, and YC CL for a pre-cruise stay in July 2013 and while I'd love to book GF RPC, it is $900 more than YC CL and $1300 more than AKL CL....and that's only for 3 nights :scared1:. With that said, it looks like RPC is out of the running (for now), but if a good discount comes out later, I'll be back to the drawing board .

And back on the RC thread :rotfl2: But RPC 2013....new CY pool, construction all completed (hopefully) Ugh, I'm NO help :rolleyes2

So very true . I think that's why I haven't booked yet because I know I'll no sooner pick one and I'll be calling right back to change to one of the other ones :rotfl: :rotfl:. But you're right......the GF should be in good shape by July of next year......I hadn't thought of that, but it's definitely something to consider :scratchin. Just when I thought I was getting somewhere by being down to just 2 resorts to pick from, you go and put me right back where I started :rotfl2:.

Sorry

:rotfl2:Too funny

No need to apologize......I've been going back and forth since the 2013 rates came out and I'm no closer to choosing now than I was then :rotfl:. I love that Disney has so many resorts to choose from, but they are all so great that it makes it so hard to choose :sad2:. Maybe I'll just have to plan another trip in the fall or winter of next year to accommodate the resort we don't get to in July :scratchin.

I just called the IPO at BC to make our room request.
We are paying for a water view, and I requested a "Full balcony, with a clear, unobstructed view of Crescent Lake or Stormalong Bay." The CM I spoke to took the information, but stated not once, but twice, that this was only a request.

*fingers crossed*pixiedust:

I would try to check-in early if you can. I always find that helps with requests. If the room they give you has a crappy view you can always ask to be moved. If they aren't sold out of course. One time they actually let us look at 3 rooms and pick which one we liked best. Of course it was during a totally dead time, which seems to never happen anymore. Have you looked at the room # chart? It might help: http://www.disneyzone.net/bcresort.htm

Good luck! We are praying for a daybed so I feel your pain. ;)

Hi,

We are going to Disney in Dec/ Jan with an extended family group. Most of them will be staying at the Swan or Dolphin, but our primary family will be at the WL in a deluxe room on the concierge level.

First, I wanted to ask if anyone has a suggestion as to a deluxe room # or location to hopefully get a view of the fireworks/ boat parade?

And, secondly, would it be possible to bring someone to the Old Faithful Club that is not staying in our room? I'm not trying to bring a bunch of people to get freebies, but just wondering if we can bring grandma for coffee or a drink in a space outside the room (we could even pay for the extra person if that's an option.)

Thanks so much for your suggestions!

Can you? Yes, nobody will stop you. Are you supposed to? I don't think so, it's only supposed to be people staying in your room. Should you? That's up to you. People will probably disagree with me, but if it's one time, one person, to show them the club, etc., it's probably fine. If it's the whole extended family, then definitely not.

I'm staying at the POLY GV CL for my first time Sept 28 - Oct 4.....I usually stay AKL CL and I really enjoy the whole check in process with the CM at the desk....I've been able to talk to them, become personal and inquire about room requests, and have gotten great rooms both times. I am wondering what you'all feel about online check in when staying CL.....Do you find it hinders possibly getting a room upgrade, or even a good room with your requests??? I am wondering if I should try Online check in this time or keep it the slow/old fashioned way that I am used to and just check in upon arrival, which I am guessing, will be approx 2:30pm if things go well with DME

:welcome: to the DIS and the CL thread, ndquinn!

On the first page of the WL thread that's hyperlinked in my signature, I have an overhead image showing the location of all the Deluxe rooms. There is also a room number description, but it's best to request a room view, rather than a room number. There are 25 of them on floors 1-6, none are on the CL floor. Congratulations on booking one! Just curious, were you able to apply a discount? (We've yet to find anyone who has.)

From a North Wing Deluxe room, you probably couldn't see both the EWP and Wishes (you could see one or the other). From a South Wing room that faces the inner courtyard of WL, you might be able to see the EWP off to the right and part of Wishes straight ahead. Just email the IPO and let them know what view you'd like, and the room assignor will try to fulfill your request.

As far as lounge guests, no one will mind if grandma has a cup of coffee with you. But, when she sees the Old Faithful Club and its wonderful CMs, she might not want to go back to the Swolphin;)

Go ahead and do it - you know you want to! Seriously, I did it once for BWI CL, just to see what would happen, and other than inputting your credit card info. prior to arrival, I couldn't detect any difference. My room request was fulfilled and it didn't hinder anything. My packet was ready and waiting, but I've never had a long CL check-in anywhere, so I'd say it took the same amount of time.

Hello, all! :wave2: I just discovered this thread! :thumbsup2 My family and I stayed at GF Sugar Loaf in 2005, and we loved club level so much we just couldn't NOT do it again for our trip to Yacht Club this coming December. Really appreciated the pictures on the front page of the thread. Looking forward to learning more tips, tricks, and reasons to love CL! :)

Scott MC- great thread!!! Thanks for taking the helm!

If I can help with any BC/YC stuff, let me know. You are welcome to use any of my pictures from the FAQ thread, but if someone else provided ones you want, I can ask the photographer for permission for you. I have credited the photos that I didn't take.

Thanks Dee!
Gosh darn it, the BC/YC people are so nice! As of now, BWI is my #1, but I have a feeling..........
