I asked this on the transportation board but didn't get a response...do you think 5:30am is early enough for a 7:50am flight from LGA for 3 seasoned travelers who are traveling light? We're leaving from Tribeca, using Dial7 and flying JetBlue

I suppose I could ask my my SO but he's been so super busy with work and negotiating 2 job offers so we've had so many things to talk about other than Disney! And being in a temporarily long distance relationship,-we live 150 miles apart- we don't have as much talking time as we'd like. We'll be on vacation together in 12 days though and have oodles of time to talk about our next vacation...and other minor stuff, like finding a bigger apartment if he takes job #1 or moving across the country if he takes job #2! It's almost enough to distract me from my Disney planning. Almost.

I would maybe plan on getting to the airport for 5:30. After flying out of Newark and JFK numerous times, I realized the surrounding airports are just way to unpredictable.

I feel your pain though! My DH booked our flight for 6 am out of Newark. Which means leaving our apartment in Central Jersey around 3:30-3:45. Normally, I would be freaking out about getting up this early in the morning, but since it's for DW I'm content with it lol.

I would maybe plan on getting to the airport for 5:30. After flying out of Newark and JFK numerous times, I realized the surrounding airports are just way to unpredictable.

We have the 6am flight out of Newark too but I'm only about 15 mins away so it's not so bad. I used to get there super early because I'm always paranoid but the airport is always EMPTY that early on a weekday so I think this time I'm going to leave at 4:45am. That'll give me an hour.

I had and am still having issues! I switched from ASMu to CSR a while back and the girl said the ME tags had not been mailed. When I got them, they still said ASMu. I called and was told to just use a black marker to block out the resort name and they would go by the bar code.

Now, I just added a day. I did the room before the flight. The first CM I talked to said I needed to call back with flight info to talk to ME and to them. She gave me the 800 number to ME but said that I need to update it through them too so it may be easier to just call them (they could talk to ME for me). When I called back, the ME updated it in their system but did not talk to ME. I asked him if I should call and he said it should automatically update. I asked about my tags since it says the wrong date and the wrong hotel now for the way home. He said I could talk to the new hotel when I check in. Does this sound right or should I call back? I don't want to wait until last minute and then have a whole ordeal that keeps us from our last day's festivities!!

You won't need tags for going home. Actually you don't even need tags for going to WDW if you are in the system. Our tags didn't arrive for our trip last September, we just checked in at the ME desk and got our luggage no problem.

When you get to your hotel, just let them know that you need ME for going back to the airport. They will make sure all the information is there.

We could start a FB group and post our trip photos and all to it. I post on another thread and we are all close and we have a FB group for sharing things we don't feel belong on the boards.

I love the idea of a FB group.

Last year I got the basic Photo CD and a Photo book. I found it to be worth it for us to get the photos only thing was my DD did not appreciate spending valuable park time posing for photos every 15 feet as we entered every park and during Wishes. When asked if she liked Wishes or our local Canada Day fireworks better she said she never saw wishes because all she did was pose for pictures. This year we won't stop at every one but I do plan to hit the main ones. The ones that I liked the most were at the water parks. They seamed to be everywhere and my DD didn't feel like her time was being wasted. As far as the Photo book goes I just love it and it was free as part of the package we got last year. This year I think I will go elsewhere and order a photo book for a lot less cash.

Stan, I have a feeling I meet you and your daughter last year in MK by the dole whips for a July dismeet. I;m just putting the pieces together now.

I like to get to our airport at least 90 minutes before our flight. Our airport is usually not too busy. How long is it going to take you to geet from Tribeca to the airport?

I have no ringtones but I may be upgrading to an iPhone next month...no use trying now to have to figure it out all over again next month! Where's a teenager when you need one!

I REALLY want a iPhone, but cannot justify the cost of the data plan. Right now my family all have "dumb" cell phones.

Other than when we have ADRs, our schedule is pretty much up in the air. After years of going commando style and planning every single minute we have decided to kind of leave a little of it open enough to go with the flow.

I seriously cannot wait for this trip! One of my closest friends is joining my mom and I this year. For the past twenty something years/trips it has just been my mom and I. So this year is going to have a bit of a different feel and dynamic to it. But I am sure it is going to be great!

As far as ringtones go: Mine is Good Life by oneRepublic which has made me think of Disney World since they started using it in their commercials (and did an adorable video for it set at MK).

I fly frequently and my DH likes to be early - he hates to be rushed at the airport. I still laugh when I think of the day my MOm (and I) kept insisting it would be fine and we missed our honeymoon flight! (It wasn't a big deal - they took care of us and we got the next flight out).

I get to the airport 2 hours early. I also pad an extra 15-30 mins for driving time. Any more is very unneccessary.

Last flight to Florida we did Park and fly and since we were only 5 mins away, decided to get to the airport 1 hr before. It felt rushed and I didn't like arriving at our boarding gate to see a lineup of people boarding already.

Our resort is SSR...first time staying here since we just joined DVC in December...best move we ever made for Disney!

We are going to look into DVC when we are down there! I think it would be worth it for our family!

Seriously, I cannot get enough of that song or that video! Thanks to that video and the Disney ad campaign that song went from just being one of my favorites to one of those songs that makes me think of Disney and get all choked up. So for me it is the perfect ring tone. Takes me to my happy place every time my phone rings.

And as for the heat: The friend that is going with me has been to WDW several times already, but never in August. She was a little concerned that the OMG HOT LIKE FIRE heat + the OMG it's like breathing in soup humidity would be hard to handle. But once I explained how crowds are so much lighter then when she usually goes and that the heat just gives us a better excuse for mid-day naps and/or pool time she seemed to warm up to the idea. I'm hoping that she jumps on the August bandwagon by the end of the trip.

I know- the video gets me choked up. My DH was laughing at me last night when I watched it! I will have to download that song for a ringtone. The crowds definitely make the Aug heat tolerable-no lines means getting into the AC faster! You def have to head to the pool for a bit. (Not to mention it was cooler down there than NJ earlier this week.)

I am a singer (Starr is my real name tho from Phila. and we played with oneRepublic at the National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony show in DC this past December. The best part of the entire event was meeting KERMIT tho' - I am still excited about that one, LOVE THE FROG!!! The First Family didn't even excite me as much as the frog. (sorry mr president LOL)

I've actually never flown out of LGA! Plenty out of Newark and JFK, but most of that has been international first class, which means I'm getting there in the evening and can always use priority lane. No such luck on this trip.

Funny - sweetie and I are going to the Dominican Republic in 2 weeks and our flight home leaves at some crazy time like 12:30am...if it were anything else, it would be drudgery. Because it's vacation and we're together, it's an adventure.

When I have those super early mornings, I usually end up never even going to sleep because of the combination of last-minute preparation and fear that I won't wake up and I'll miss my flight!

Man I leave for Texas and this thread just blows up. Lol. Hubby announced to me last night that I need to make ressies for DTD on August 8th. Apparently his company is giving all the convention goers a Free night. Okay. I'm thinking raglan road but this really messed with my plans to hang out in the park until wishes. . Oh the troubles I have. Hahahahahahaha.
