Requested our rooms today, building 4 or 5, corner room! Fingers crossed that we get our choice.

Anyway, I have a question... our first day we are going to see the Hoo-de-doo review. What is the best way to get from POFQ there?? Also, how long should we leave to get there, our tickets are already paid for.

Thank you!

You should always give yourself up to an hour or maybe more to get to any ADR on property, just incase busses are later than usual or something. The best way I think to get to HDDR from POFQ is taking a bus to MK and then there is a boat that goes straight to Fort Wilderness so that is the way I'm taking when I go to HDDR from FQ in September.

So excited. Just booked French quarter for dec 18 to 23. :yay:

I wondered if someone can help me, I have hip problems and was thinking of putting in a request for building 4 (from the information I have read on this thread :)) as I thought this would have us close to the main building. Am I able to request building 4 if I have booked standard room?

I understand there is no guarantee but thought it doesn't hurt to ask.

What buildings are most of the Standard rooms? Thinking if we cannot make sure we get a Mansion standard room at the POR than we will go with POFQ standard. We really like both but do not want the Alligaor Bayou rooms at all. Not my thing!

Just out of curiosity, since we requested an AB room, what is it that you don't like about it?

I have never been to POR at all. I don't like the theme in AB, don't need the trundle bed at all and I love the mansion look. Nothing personal-just too casual for me.

I have a question....we reserved one of the new category, "garden view" rooms either in Bldg. 2 or 4, since their locations seems to be best for us. Last time we were there back in 2006 we were in bldg 7 top floor- oh my gosh what a pain trhying to carry/lug our luggage up 3 flights of stairs- that's one downside I guess no elevator. This time we opted for either 1st or 2nd floor. What do you suppose our view will consist of since we've never stayed at either building?? thanks for the help. Appreciate it much.

I'm not sure about your question but wanted to say that POFQ does indeed have elevators in the buildings. We were on the 3rd floor this past weekend and used the one for our bldg quite a bit. It was a little hidden and out of the way (around by the vending machines), but it was indeed there :goodvibes. Also we were in bldg #5 which was really close to the main bldg where one side faced the pool/river while the other side had a court yard which would be your Garden view room view....just another option for you :).

Just returned from POFQ and six nights in building 4. We were very happy with out stay and our room was ready at 9 AM. We had good bus service both going and coming to/from the parks. We only shared a bus with Riverside once and didn't wait more than 15 minutes at any given time or place. We didn't have any special Mickey towels or anything in our room - but good housekeeping. The Food Court was fine and we ate breakfast (Mickey waffles) most days and glad to see peanut butter available. We ate one afternoon meal in the food court - kids grilled cheese and fries (very good) and chicken quesadilla. The outside movie was playing everynight though we were just too tired to watch - the pool was fine and they did have some activities during the day. The elevators were at the opposite end of our building so we used stairs even on the 3rd floor. We didn't use bell services checking in, but didn't checking out and will certainly do it in the future. Just plan the extra tip money - it is worth it.

Perhaps I just didn't notice them when we were there last time back in 2006. Nice to know that they do have them for each building. Guess we will just have to look for them if we are on the 2nd floor. Thanks everyone. Most helpful once again.

We arrived at 2:30 today, and our room was ready. :cool1::cool1:
Top floor and building 4: Exactly what I asked for. Yes, there are elevators.

Easy check-in. Good dinner!! Lovely room.

Can't wait to head to Animal Kingdom tomorrow.

There was huge storm at about 3:30 but it cooled off big time after that. We are now deciding whether to go to DTD.

We are on VACATION!!!

Sounds AWESOME!!! Have a wonderful and MAGICAL time!!!

*embarrassed* Reread the thread and found my answer.

I KNOW someone here knows the answer to my question. :) I made two different 8:05 a.m. breakfast reservations (two different days of course)(in Oct.). Will DD and I make it on time? Or should I make other arrangements to get there those mornings? (I see in the beginning the buses start running an hour before park opening. I guess I'm just worried we won't get there on time.)
