Used an awesome National code for my April trip!

Thank you for your reply. BUT I have 3 kids with me 5 & 7. When you say across the street... how far? Right across. or long walk across?
I don't need to sign anything? Just show my DL? Also the return process is it quick? Our flight home is at 7:45 PM. Hopeing that leaving DTD about 5 would be enough time????

Thanks again for all your help

Not far at all. Takes all of 30 seconds to cross from the main terminal exit to the garage. If this is the first time you have used EC you may have to sign at the exit booth and show your credit card.
The return process is generally quick, but, much depends on how busy the return lanes are. I would leave DTD at about 4-4:30 and hope not to encounter the rush hour traffic and I would take 417 to the airport.

Yuck, I did not think we would have to leave that early.
As the other poster stated I did look up the ariport map. Im flying SW, so looks like we come in Term B on level 3 then got to 2 for bags, then down to 1 for car?

If you leave DTD around 5:00 p.m. that should be plenty of time. It's only about a 30 minute drive to the airport from there. That will still give you more than 2 hours before your flight leaves.

Meh, I went ahead and used it to get a car so we don't have to use the buses. Got a compact for June 19-24 for $160.

Oh, and I'm picking it up and dropping it off at the WDW car care center.

The more I read, its sounds like you do loose alot of time using the busses

Honestly, the Disney bus system is about as good as it can be and they do a good job. A lot of people use it and love it. It really comes down to preference.

I prefer to be in charge of my own destiny while at WDW. I get stressed having to wait for the bus (nothing gets my day off to a bad start than to be walking up to the bus stop while watching the bus we needed take off) and being stuffed into it.

I find it really easy to get around WDW with a car, and since we are staying at Kidani Village the parking is right under the hotel. The only time we use the bus is going to the Magic Kingdom because they drop you off right in front of the entrance. Otherwise it's super easy to park and get to the entrance at the other 3 parks. I guarantee you I can get to all 3 parks faster than you can using the bus.

Plus, that first day I can run off to Super Target and get us food for our villa. Eating breakfast in the villa saves us a ton of money, as well as having all our drinks available.

We also save a ton of money eating off site. A buffet at Boma for the 4 of us (my girls are 14 & 11 but are of course Disney adults) will run almost $190 once you include tip, but we can eat a delicious buffet at Sweet Tomatoes for a total of $40-$50. That savings alone will pay for the rental car.

The one thing I can't find is how long it takes to get to AK from CBR via rental car.. I think I have just about everything else planned out.
Do you know how long that takes?

Traffic at that time of day is HORRIBLE, that is why I suggested an earlier departure from DTD. You also have to allow for getting through security. IMHO, better safe than sorry.

I have no idea why people do a midsize ER over a EA. Seems silly to me.

so I have a question, I booked ER 7 passenger mini van because I need to be sure we had a vehicle that would fit my family and suitcases. We are a family 5 we usually have 5 lg suitcases and 5 carry ons. Am I reading this correct should have I ordered different?

If you definitely need a minivan, you book a mini van. I would never book a midsize hoping that a minivan is sitting there if I really needed one. You did right.

No, you did exactly right. The part you quotes was referring to Midsize Emerald Reserve vs. booking a midsize and using the Emerald Aisle. Because the aisle often has larger cars on it, it makes more sense for an Emerald Club member to book the midsize and choose off the Aisle (pay for a midsize, choose off the aisle).

Emerald Reserve should be used when there is a specific class of car you need and you wouldn't be happy with any other category of car. If you are flexible, you can use Emerald Aisle and take your chances with what may be there.

I just booked a vehicle for NEXT April, using this code. It worked. :thumbsup2

Thanks for answering me, :lovestrucpixiedust: you too Brermamma.

Can't seem to get the double quote thingy:lmao:

Gosh, I can believe how complicated it is too get a deal on a rental car, we have 516. National now for a mini van 10 days. I have checked in a few times and last night got budget for 470. but honestly did not change my ressie because I figured with the KLM deal I had all this added insurance. However, if I can find a deal for under 400 I will pounce. :)

I also booked using the code for next April 13-20th school vacation week. :coffee:
I got a Cadillac DTS for $359. :cool1:
The confirm shows my name, Emerald Club membership number and all the membership info. :surfweb:
I don't have a Flying Blue membership card/number, is that going to be a problem? :confused3
Good Luck All,

They can ask for it, and if they do and you don't have it, they can charge you the current prevailing rate. It's free to join and takes about five minutes, so there's no reason not to join and have that peace of mind.
