I'm staying at a resort that shares facilities with another resort. Can I use the pools there, too?

In most cases, yes.

Guests at Wilderness Lodge and the Villas at Wilderness Lodge can use both pools.

So what about if I am staying at one of the cabins at Ft Wilderness? Can we pool hop to Wilderness Lodge?

No, FW and WL are two completely separate resorts. They do not share facilities. WL tends to be one of the stricter resorts when it comes to checking resort IDs at the pool, in my experience. I've been asked for ID on a few occasions.

Thanks, Lynne! I'm sure we'll be perfectly happy with the pools @ Ft Wilderness, but I was just curious

does anyone know about Pop and AOA? I know a lot of people are wondering. i would think disney world officially know this by now.

for all intents and purposes, pop classic years and pop legendary years were supposed to be sister resorts.(hence, the bridge)

I think someone stated that although they are connected by a bridge, they are separate resorts and not elgible for pool hopping. Although, I bet A LOT of people try, LOL.

I wonder if the bridge will be open at all? I hope you could at least use the food court. (well, I guess you could anyway, if you drove over.) but I woldn't bother doing that, but I would walk over from pop to eat there. it sounds like it has interesting choices.

anyway, back to the pool issue.. I'm thinking , maybeeither the bridge will be closed and /or no pool hopping for a while, until the newness wears off?

darn, we are hoping we can use the pool and food court when we go in aug with our grandson. but I supposed everyone from pop would want to swim in the Nemo pool, and the computer pool would be empty!:rotfl:

We're DVC and will be staying at OKW with our adult kids and grandkids. If we want to spend a no-park day at Ft Wilderness, we can use the pool there, right?

As long as the adult kids and grandkids are also staying on a DVC reservation (DVC points or a DVC cash reservation) at OKW as your guest and pool hopping isn't blacked out.

Thanks; yes everyone is staying on points. How will we know if there is a black-out? It's September so shouldn't be a high-volume issue.

Blackouts are during holiday times. If you are there around Labor Day, you'll be blacked out.

A friend just got back from AKL and they were denied entrance into Samawati Springs Pool because they were not staying at Kidani.

I thought you were allowed to use that pool If you were staying at AKL?:confused3

Any thoughts on this? We are booked there in July

I think that is correct, if you are staying at Kidani you can use either, but if you are staying in Jambo you can't use Kidani. I think, I don't know for sure but that sounds like what I've heard previously.

That's not right. They should have been able to use the pool at KV if they were staying at JH.

So if we are staying at VWL we can use the FW facilities? That would be great since they have a great splash area for the little ones.

If you are DVC members, staying at VWL on a points reservation, and it's not during one of the DVC pool-hopping blackout periods, then yes.

Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge are not sister resorts. So you can't use the other resort pool if you are staying at one of them. Unless you are a DVC member staying on a DVC reservation during a period when pool hopping is not blacked out (usually around holiday periods).

In the case of Kidani Village and Jambo House, both are AKL/AKV - one resort.

I have no official information. Staying at AoA on Sept. People on the AoA boards have pointed out a fence at least around the big blue pool. A lot of folks are speculating that the new RFID room keys may also allow access to the pools by AoA guests only? Most people seem to think that AoA and Pop will not be sister resorts, even though they are connected by the bridge. Have to wait and see.

This has always been my experience and we were able to go there last October (staying at Jambo House and not DVC members). If you go to the WDW site for AKL, it lists both pools under recreation. Interestingly, if you look at recreation under AKV Jambo House, it only lists the Uzima pool. And the link for AKV Kidani Village only shows Samawati Springs. I would have assumed you could use either pool, regardless of whether you're at Jambo House or Kidani Village, staying in a standard room, CL, or in a villa. I'd be really disappointed if we couldn't use the pool at Kidani because my kids far prefer it to Uzima (especially since they repainted it - it was so much nicer when it wasn't all sparkly and bright).

AoA and Pop are not sister resorts -- a CM told me yesterday that originally the AoA buildings were going to be additional POP buildings but then they decided to create AoA as a separate hotel.

You use your key card to get in to the AoA big blue pool. I read an article that said that the other AoA pools will not be fenced.
