I said Ohana, not Obama!!!! - A BFF's do NYE TR **UPDATE 11/4 Pg. 38**

What a fun evening in MK! I found it hilarious how you "protected" the magic! :rotfl: It appeared the Yeti was on better behavior tonight!!

So I got behind thanks to my trip. I noticed when you went to AK you said you used lines. Is that touringplans? and do you use the chat and if so whats your name on there. Ok back to reading more.

Great update! So funny that you had to shove Farrell into Cosmic Rays so she wouldn't see Wishes! I love Cosmic Rays, it's so yummy!

They had a Peoplemover in Disneyland and they removed it??? What is wrong with them? :sad2:

Where are those princess dresses? I've never seen them before, they're so pretty!

That's okay! I always fall behind when I go on a trip, so I get it.

It is Touring Plans that I use. I actually have that and I have the one from Undercover Tourist. I like to compare the two.

I'll PM you my username. It's not very original (LOL), but I don't want my last name bouncing around here.

I love Cosmic Rays too! I don't remember a trip in recent times that I haven't gone there. It's always on my list for sure.

They sure did. They had an idea that sounded really cool and Test Track like to replace it, but what they ended up with was just wah wah.

The princess dresses are inside a shop in Fantasyland. I think it's near or inside Tinkerbell's Treasures, but you can't quote me on that.

Glad to see you're back and to hear your mom is on her way to recovery. The trip to Europe and DLR Paris sounds fun.

I had no idea there was ever a Peoplemover in DL. How did I miss that?

Love the Yeti in bed picture, so cute!

I'm definitely looking forward to the trip. It's going to be an experience for sure.

It's surprising, isn't it? The Peoplemover is such a staple on the DIS, that it's surprising that it's not there in DLR.

Good to see you back! I hope that your mom gets well soon; that sucks. I fell down the stairs at my apartment building when I was in my early 20s and was lucky enough to only pull a muscle; breaking a leg is not as fun as it sounds in the theater.

I tried on that Dumbo hat too. I couldn't help it!

Congrats on timing it perfectly so that you could shove Farrell into the restaurant!

Great updates. Glad you were able to prevent the "Wishes sighting" until your special evening. Sounds like a great evening at the MK, and glad to see Yeti behaving.

LOVE the photopass pictures.

We thought at first that she had only pulled a muscle when she fell, but that clearly wasn't the case. It definitely is not fun, that's for sure.

I'm sure that many people thought I was an abusive friend for shoving Farrell. It was all for the sake of magic preservation. :rolleyes1 Honest.

It was so funny, I was kind of freaking out like, "how stupid could I be! I KNOW when Wishes is and I have us walking down Main Street right when it was going to start! Dee dee dee!!!"

Things accomplished -

Test Track
The Seas with Nemo and Friends
Living with the Land
Peoplemover
Buzz Lightyear
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Mickey's Philharmagic

Throw in the good food, and that's a pretty good Disney day. :thumbsup2

That chicken looks amazing. I rarely get to have rotisserie chicken any more (not the boyfriend's favorite way to have it prepared) and that one looks SO GOOD.

I can't believe I forgot to take a picture like that of Philharmagic Donald! It's such a great little detail in that shop. One of my favorites, next to the giant in Sir Mickey's.

I love the pink dress in Cinderella, way better than the Fairy Godmother one. Maybe because it was her mother's and made by her friends? Or maybe just because it's super adorable with the bows! :)

Rotisserie chicken is one of my favorite ways to have it prepared, so I eat it all the time.

I always loved the original dress that Cinderella has because it was more homey to me. That probably sounds stupid. It was more special to me, because it wasn't from magic, it was from love....and now I sound sappy.

I ordered...

Backtracking a bit but this picture/post made me order the chicken 2 weeks ago when we wound up at Cosmic Rays. It was so yummy and I loved those mashed potatoes. So "Thank You" for "directing" me to a great supper! :goodvibes

I'm glad that I was able to "recommend" a good meal! The rotisserie chicken at Cosmic Rays has never led me astray! ;)

Wow. I am only on day three?! Why does it feel like I should be so much further along. This is the longest I've taken on a TR I think. Too busy.

I had one of my associates at work go to another department, so I had to hire and backfill her position. It's been hard for me, and I've been working a lot of hours trying to get all of the training completed. Whew. Too much I tell you. I just want it to slow down!

Day Three - Monday January 2, 2012

MGM......um.....I mean Disney Hollywood Studios day! (It will always be MGM to me).

The plan had been to get to DHS at rope drop. We were out of the room by 8:45am. You DISer's know that rope drop 8:45am does not make. I had to make a pit stop in the morning. Why do you ask? Because we had been at the Poly for two full days and I still hadn't gotten the parking pass. They didn't give me one when we checked in. And, we're such awesome, rockin', popular people, that we just did not have any TIME until then to go and get the pass.

Fortunately, the Disney cops did not tow the car. pixiedust:

Parking pass firmly affixed in the window, it was time to hit the road. Parking at DHS was filling up really quickly. We got a decent spot, but decided to hoof it to the entrance instead of taking the tram. It was a little chilly and we weren't up to getting cold that morning.

Remember.....DO NOT forget where you parked...

af9e2401.jpg

So, 9:15am we get through the gate. Epic fail! I know better than this!

After publicly flogging myself at the front of the park (briefly, because remember, we're already behind), we headed straight to TSM. We got fastpasses. When we stood in the line, the fastpass return time that was posted looked good. Then we got up there. And we got a return time of 1:45pm. D'oh! That was not part of the plan! (Wooooooo, foreshadowing...).

So, I tell Farrell, let's get in line. And she looks at me like I had lost my mind completely. Because the posted wait time was 50 minutes. I told her that wasn't going to be the case. She looked dubious. Let's look at Farrell's dubious face....

Yes, glasses included. :lmao:

Fortunately, we only waited about 20 minutes. That's right. Who's your daddy!?

Pretty soon, we saw the big spud.

And it was almost time for us to hop on board.

What did Farrell think?

ac524769.jpg

She liked it very much. How were our scores?

e1a6b17c.jpg

I think that's the best score I've ever gotten! To which this conversation took place...

Farrell: My accuracy was better than yours.

Danielle: Screw accuracy! I only care about points dangit!

After we played with the toys, we headed over to the Tower of Terror. Well....the wait time was 70 minutes at that point. And remember, like a bunches of doofuses, we had gotten fastpasses already at TSM. D'oh!

Rockin' Roller Coaster? Same thing. Long line. We figured though that by the time we could get another FP, we'd be okay, because no one seemed to be getting them......FORESHADOWING!

You know what though? No skin off our backs. We had another day at DHS planned in the future anyway.

So, we headed into Starring Rolls to get some bagels and waters to fill our tummies. And then it was off to....

At-At!!!

"We're doomed!"

e40ee818.jpg

Farrell loved the ride. She remembered the original from Disneyland, but really liked the update. Sadly, neither one of us were the rebel spy.

SO......we head back to the Tower of Terror to pick up fastpasses. And they were GONE! Like....all gone. Okay....only an hour of time max had passed. The return time was previously 11am. And now they're GONE?! How in the world does that happen?

I started to get nervous, because the crowds were really bad on this day, and this was not fitting into my touring plan. I was afraid Farrell was going to start getting frustrated by it. But she was fine and said that she was on vacation, so she didn't care. Whew!

So, if you're in DHS, and you can't get on any major attractions because of wait times, where do you go?

601200fc.jpg

Yup. You go to the Great Movie Ride.

We got the Gangster. I always get the Gangster. In the many many many many many many times that I've been to WDW, I think I've gotten the Cowboy once. Just once.

On top of this, our driver was a little......off. I don't want to sound bad. But he had a speech impediment. Where all of his R's sounded like W's. Like "Welcome to the Gweat Movie Wide"

"The Howwow film is my favowite genwe of film"

1a9dd57e.jpg

Fawwell....ahem, sorry FARRELL thought that the ride was cheesetastic. But not in a bad way necessarily.

The crowds were oppressive at this point and we weren't going to get much done at this point now. So, we decided to go to the 12:45pm showing of Indiana Jones. But not before having some lunch.

I know that the ABC Commissary isn't the best reviewed place, but we decided to eat there. I hadn't eaten there in a while though.

I got Fish and Chips.

Farrell got a chicken sandwich. We both liked it. Wasn't the best meal we had, but wasn't bad.

After lunch, we headed over to Indiana Jones. It was 10 minutes before showing. And they weren't letting anyone in anymore!

Okay....now it's all just going downhill. Our DHS morning was a bust at this point. Seriously.

We decided to leave DHS at this point. We were a little bummed out and a little dejected. But, we figured that night we would make up for it.

FYI, in case anyone wonders, we tried to head back to the room every day, because Farrell has back problems from a car accident that has required physical therapy, so it's very important that she doesn't overdo it. She has to do stretches several times a day to keep loose. So we always planned on heading back to the hotel around 1pm. I didn't care about myself, I've been on everything before. I wanted her to enjoy her trip.

But, we had some fun coming up that night!

Up next: What, you can't get me the barrell of beer?

At least you guys were able to get some things done, despite the oppressive crowds! That's crazy that all of the FP's disappeared in an hour!

Holy cow, I can't believe all the fastpasses were gone for ToT! :scared1: I'm glad you guys got a few things done and that Farrell didn't let it bother her. :thumbsup2

Wow, nice score of TSM. That's pretty impressive.

Crazy about all of the FPs for Tower of Terror being out so quickly! But that's good Farrell wasn't too upset about it.

We always get the gangster scene on the Great Movie Ride too. :confused3
