Before I start, Im going to need a promise from everyone one of you .
DO NOT TELL ANYONE!
Im sure I can trust you with this; after all we all love a good surprise.
First, lets chat about the title, SURPRISE! Can we do it again? Whose surprise is it?
Our lovely, shy, quiet Ok, ok( insert snicker) .. our lovely, poser extraordinaire & chatter box daughter, Kadence is the who. She is 8years old and in 2nd grade.
Im Carey and my DHs name is John. We live in Wisconsin and Im thankful that John loves Disney as much as Kadence and I do!
Our older daughter, Samantha, is not going along. She is in college and will be in her 1st year of nursing and cannot miss school. She is fine with that, as she is not a Disney person (I dont know where I went wrong there?!?) There is a 10 ½ year age difference between the 2 girls and Samantha has been on many vacations and had her own surprises so were all good in that respect. In fact, Ill let you all in on a little surprise for her . She loves the beach, hot temps and all that. For her graduation from college, we are hoping to give her a vacation to a warm sunny beach type area. I have 3 years to research. Should be able to figure something out.
We had always wanted to surprise Kadence with a Disney trip and the universe lined up quite nicely last year for this to happen. You can read all about it in my TR below, Wake up! Surprise! Were going to Disney TODAY!
We had the most amazing time, and she loved being surprised. She talked about it forever; even her teacher at school had to limit her Show and Tell segments to include non-Disney topics!
When in the course of talking about when wed like to go back, she kept telling us that shed like to be surprised again. Then shed change her mind and tell us no, she wants to help plan. So, we made plans for a trip in Nov 2013. A bigger trip that will take place during some special events; her 10th birthday, my 40th, and our 15th wedding anniversary. She has total input in this trip, ADRs, resort choice, & activities.
Then Disney Depression hit our home. Yes, it is a real malady; it affects a large number of Disney vacationers. The sadness in which you know that its going to be a long time between visits, the feeling that Disney is taunting you every time a WDW commercial comes on TV, and when the mail arrives with offers of books, movies and the rare PIN. You can barely go online without seeing a Disney advertisement.
So, the conversation begins. Do you think? Should we try? No, no vacation available. Oh, wait vacation is available. Just check into it. Wait, lets think about it. .Ok, I want to! Get some plans together.
Then the big question .Should we tell Kadence? NO! Lets surprise her again! The best part of this all .unlike last time, well be able to talk about it! Just act like youre talking about 2013 and shell be none the wiser! Oh yeah, this is going to be good! Insert evil laugh! Muahahahahaha!
On to our plans!
Our dates are November 1st-11th. We had originally planned to stay at POP Century again, but just saw last night that the Art of Animation resort started taking bookings for standard rooms yesterday!
DH decided that he wants to stay there. So, I contacted my Awesomely Nice, DIS famous, TA, Jen (Jenseib). This morning she sent our confirmation info and the rest is planning heaven for me!
I have bunches to do, make a planning calendar, decide on ADRs and parks days (hopefully Nov calendar will come soon) Lists, so many lists!
Welcome to our PTR, and remember . Keep the Secret!
