When in doubt, feed the bear....but not that!!!Day 6- Last day blues

Thank you for all those great resort pictures! I've never really seen pictures of SSR...it's never really drawn me, but after you seeing your pictures it looks very nice.

Those were a small part of that resort. It is huge. I enjoyed our short stay there and look forward to other areas and more exploration.

:rotfl:To the pigeon pics... espeically the one with all the droppings on the awning

I was so focused on the birds on the barrier for the docks that I didn't even see all the seasgull poop.

WL does look beautiful all decked out for the Holidays, this TR is really convincing me that WDW during the holidays is a must do... maybe just once!

It is so neat and pictures never do it justice. Even if you don't stay there you need to visit.

Your food at WCC looks great we have never been there and thinking about going on this trip. I really want to see all the shenanigans in person ;). What exactly are you allergic too??? I can't believe they denied you a milkshake and yes who would have thought there would be soy in it ?!?!?

I enjoy WCC. It is a fun place if you get to experience the shenanigans.

Holy Cow I have quite a list of allergies. Nothing is really really bad but enough of different things and I just feel really crummy , congested, runny, itchy etc.

Lets see if I do the list by memory.
Carrots, soy, peas, green beans, celery, tomatoes, cantaloupe, almonds, peanuts, english walnuts, pecans, mustard, dill, garlic, and sesame.
I did it!!! The ones I really pay attention to are: carrots, mustard, dill, and while I can't eliminate the say I do pay attention.

The others I need to be aware of in combinations. I have always said it is like climbing a mountain and any one of those can be the the one that pushes me off the cliff at the top. Combine that with environmentals and the venoms and I am basically a walking disaster area. :rotfl2:

Of course I had no idea until after I had my DD when they got much worse. I always suspected I was allergic when I would sleep with tissues next to me all year round. :lmao:

I can't believe I was denied but it makes sense now how I felt after the last 2 times I had the mikshake. I just thought I overate.

I really thik from now on I will use the word sensitivity and not put it on the reservation. I hear they have an ipad that can be brought to the table. I just need to need to know to reduce the combinations and make wise decisions. Then take a Benadryl after dinner.

Wow, a huge swim meet and still time for three updates!!! Guess I better get on my next update...... :guilty:

That is one of my deep dark secrets.... I can post even when I am busy.

I don't know why so many people dislike SSR. I think it is a wonderful resort!

One of the only reasons I would not prefer it, is the multiple bus stops, but really the only resort without them is POP and that will be gone soon too.
:sad1:

It might be a better "car "resort. Parking close and then drive to parks. The walk back from DTD is not bad at all if you are in Congress Park. But I found a n easy way to get there too.

Great pictures of Mom and Son! And a really neat pin! Wish I had gotten some Holiday pins this year........ :rolleyes1

BTW........Mine, Mine, Mine!!!

I found lots of neat Limited Holiday pins this time. Maybe I just didn't notice last time. :confused3

I guess Chris didn't quite defeat the Large Coke, but he did pretty well.

They obviously take your allergy warnings very seriously. Strange about the crust on your dessert though.....do you think that there was one and they removed it before serving it to you?? :confused3

I would rather have some left than the result we had last time.

I understand that and respect they are trying to protect you but I know how it affects me so I should make the final decision. I did only tag certain ADRs because I had a feeling there were some ingredients I should know about and that was the only way I could really find out.

I DID! I knew it was a graham cracker crust and it always says it on the box of crackers but I never have a problem. I know it is CYA on their part but I wanted a graham cracker crust. :(

Lovely pictures of both SSR and WL (both of my home resorts!). Your dinners looked so amazing and I would have thought Christ would have learned his lesson after his last run in with the galloon sized coke! :rotfl:

Yeah :cool1: for a case of ketchup!

Such a great picture of the two of you by the Christmas tree!

He wanted revenge. :lmao: Sadly he raised the white flag but at least he did not repeat the last experience. :rotfl2:

Yeah :cool1: for a case of ketchup!

I love the ketchup routine. I love watching unsuspecting people see the ketchup come out. :lmao:

I for the life of me cannot remember what the PP said to us but we were cracking up. He was picking on Chris, that is all I remember. :rotfl2:

I am thankful for the Wilderness Lodge pictures. I am still in semi-shock that I never made it over there. The one window of time that it was going to work out, it didn't. :sad2:

All of the food looks delicious. What were the vegetable choices? I probably would have gotten the steak, mashed potatoes, and broccoli, corn, or green beans, if they were any of the choices.

I hope my pictures helped a bit them. I never made it over to POP or OKW so you helped me there. Still want to see it in person but knowing a buddy has seen it and has pictures to share is just as good. :thumbsup2

It must have been some combination of carrots, peas, and green beans for me to turn it down. I would have taken broccoli

I may ask O'hana for broccolli without carrots this go around. I think I can handle the wings with sesame seeds but not carrots. I think I know what meal got me this time and I don't think it was O'hana but the less allergens the better.

Wow, he did it again!
The coke, that is!!!
I couldn't believe he drank that thing again....

What a guy!

Since the first time did not end so well he wanted revenge. :lmao: He did not completely finish this time but he did not have te after effect either.

Pat, all caught up again.

I love the pictures of you with Holiday Donald and Daisy.

I cannot get over that TOT line. :scared1:

The photopass pictures at Wilderness Lodge are terrific. Chris has an absolutely beautiful smile...tell him I'd rather see more of that than his back side. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Looks like you had yet another successful meal at WCC.

I was glad to find them with a prety short line.:thumbsup2

I cannot get over that TOT line. :scared1:

That was pretty scary!

I tell him that every day. When he was a preschooler I had to warn the teachers NOT to fall for the smile. I will admit it probably got him out of some trouble. He would try and flash it to me and I would tell him " That smile won't work on me, I am your mother." :rotfl2:

Looks like you had yet another successful meal at WCC.

Maybe you should give it another try?

Well, I'm glad to hear that Chris defeated the large Coke!
I was worried!

We have enjoyed our meals at WCC, it's not a must do on every trip but it's time to go again!
We have it booked in June.

I'm sorry you have to limit your choices due to your allergies. I guess it's better safe than sorry though! Feeling crummy at Disney is the pits.

Almost defeated but I am sure he will try again. Men:sad2:

It did it again at Chris' request.

Now that I know most of what I am allergic to ( there may be more ) I can make good choices. The real issue is not to put too many in one meal or consecutive days and time of year.

We may need to make O'Hana no carrots. As long as I know what I am eating I can usually make adjustments or just take medicine and then make adjustments. Just an added perk being around me! :lmao:

Whew! Finally made it through all your posts!

Sounds like the coke monster strikes again with Chris! Poor guy, will they ever learn? :confused3 Teens and their stomachs. My daughter makes that same mistake too, eats and drinks more than her body can handle and the sugar finally gets to her. She vows to never do it again and sure enough, short term memory loss kicks in and she's back to it again and we all have to deal with her attitude in the process.

Oh well, at least y'all are making the most of your trip, as usual! :thumbsup2 You run around the property more than anyone else I know woman! :goodvibes I like seeing someone taking full advantage of their vacation.

I text you this same question earlier, but I don't think you got it yet. Are you planning a trip to the world next year in the spring? Mackie and I are going in May, at least that's the plan so far. :woohoo: As of now, it's May 7th 2013, hopefully we won't have to change. :)

Catching up...

Thanks for the WL pictures! My favorite place...:goodvibes

Love all the hijinks, and the picture of Chris staring sickly at the not-quite-finished Coke had me :rotfl2:

Nice photopass pictures, too! The Christmas decorations just work so well in that resort.

And the milkshake has soy? No wonder it tasted funny to me last time. :confused3

That last picture of the two of you by the tree with the snowy border is adorable!

I wouldn't be feeling it after all that soda either.

Looks like a nice dinner overall despite all the push/pull with the chef. I imagine you'd rather they were overly cautious than the reverse?

LOVE the SSR pics, that spray area at the pool looks fun. 45-60 min? Not bad.

Just caught up again...

According to those signs it really looks like Epcot was ready to serve plenty of alcoholic beverages! :thumbsup2

45 minutes to get to WL... that's why I like having a car on site even if we don't use it that often. (plus we drive offsite to see family;))

Great photopass pics at WL!!!! I like the last one!

I didn't love the skillet at WCC... I would like to go back to check out the rest of the menu.

Chris LOST to his coke!

Weird that soy would be in a milkshake.:confused3 At least they came out to tell you. :goodvibes

I'm joining in a little late, but not too late. I followed over from MeMom's thread. I'm SO enjoying that your son isn't afraid to leave you and do his own thing. Not many teens will do that, at least I don't think mine would. I can't get over the crowd levels! It's amazing that you were even able to ride any rides. I think that those pictures confirmed to me that I don't want to go over the weeks between Christmas and New Years.
