Your ULTIMATE SURVIVAL GUIDE to Disney World at Christmas Time! UPDATE x2 10/21

Yum. I think that's what the overall expression that everyone is feeling right after reading and seeing the red velvet cupcake. I will have to get one there in May! I've been to Starring Rolls before but only got a napoleon. They have such weird times that they're open. I wonder why they close so early?

Yay for TOT. That's my mom and mine's ride too. So fun. Poor girl, and even sadder that you couldn't even see her expression. I love the TOT ride photos. They always seem to turn out pretty hilarious! :) Congrats to your mom for RnRC! Yay! :) My mom doesn't ride it anymore because she thinks she'll get sick. But I agree that it's a pretty smooth ride. :thumbsup2

You definitely will have to get one of those cupcakes in May! They are must definitely YUMMY! :) I have never had a napoleon before, actually! I'm gonna have to try one eventually. And yeah they do have weird hours. I have no idea why they close early! A late night cupcake would be perfect.. but it's just not an option :(

Haha ToT is just a beautiful ride. I wish that ride photo would've come out! Aww your poor Mom. But I understand where she's coming from!

Yay!!! 2 updates with my Sunday morning coffee.
-Lion King advertisement. LOVE that show. I saw it on Broadway a couple years ago and it was SO good! I am looking forward to seeing the show at Animal Kingdom
-Dying to try a red velvet cupcake
-Two rides on my favorite ride ToT. The pictures were hysterical!!! Love the two older men on the left front in the first picture. You are never too old to enjoy a ride. The second picture with all the kids made me laugh out loud. Too cute!
-Yay for RnRC fast passes!
-Finally - Beauty and the Beast show. My absolute favorite Disney movie! Can't wait to see this show again. I have tickets to the traveling B&B show in May a month before my June trip. I am SO excited because I never got to see this one on Broadway.

Oh yay! Nice luxurious reading

The Lio King Broadway show and the FotLK are very different, but I think the quality of both shows is absolutely phenomenal. All of the performers in both shows are unbelievably talented! So if you liked the musical version, you NEED to see FotLK next time for sure!

Better add that Red Velvet Cupcake to your list!

Hahaha those pictures are too funny! I laugh every time I look at them.

It's one of my favorite movies too! And it's my dream musical to be in! I hope you enjoy the show when you see it!

Love the updates! :goodvibes I HAVE to try one of the red velvet cupcakes on our next trip. I think that would make an excellent birthday breakfast.:thumbsup2

I love how much fun you and your mom have together! You two are so cute. I only hope that my daughter will like to spend time with me when she gets older;)

And I can totally see you as Belle! You would be an adorable Belle!!

Thank you! You DEFINITELY will have to get one of those cupcakes... especially if it's for your birthday!

Aww thank you! I'm sure she will! :)

Aww thank you so much! That's so nice haha.

Thanks for the update! I'm drinking my morning coffee and reading tr updates! All of the food looks amazing! I cannot wait to try one of those cupcakes from Starring Roles! I have only been on the Rock N' Roller Coaster twice, but I love it! I wanna ride it again so bad!!!!!!!!!!!

No problem! Mmm you definitely will have to get one of the cupcakes... get the Red Velvet!! And ahh that ride is so fun!

I am so subbing! I have read all of your other trip reports and love the way you write them. This seems like such a fun trip and I can't wait to read more. I hope you get to do the college program; I'm hoping to do the international college program next year when I'm at university so maybe we'll bump into each other, lol.

Aww thank you so much! It was an EXTREMELY fun trip and the Christmas one from the end of the month was even better!! Aww thank you! I will make the college program happen someday for sure! I hope you get to do it too! That would be awesome if we did!

"They really should just have one located right on the Magical Express so we can be greeted with that Red Velvet Cupcake right off that bat." OMG Jess you are GENIUS. Please get this going once you work at Disney! and yup... it was Chipotle :thumbsup2 SO GOOD! I still stand by the fact that they need a version of Chipotle at the Mexico pavilion! Come on Disney, listen to our food ideas!!! We know what we're talking about here!!

Hahaha thank you, thank you. I will do my best to put that plan in action!

OMG was it really!? haha I'm so good! Chipotle was a total guess. But omg yeah they DEFINITELY do need something like that at the Mexico Pavilion. That would be perfect. If only they knew about all of these brilliant ideas we come up with! Disney would be lucky to have our creative minds working for them. :rotfl:

Hey! I'm enjoying your trip so far!

Your mom and I share a birthday! I'm December 7th also.:goodvibes

Can't wait for your next update!

Thank you so much!

Ahh yay December 7th babies!

Thanks for reading!

JESS! Love the updates!! I was so excited when I saw that I had like 4 new posts to read!! I wish I had had your advice about going to Starring Rolls early in the day...it was my goal to get a cupcake from there on our January trip and I missed it because they closed so early! Valuable info you are passing on!:thumbsup2

Thank you! Aww I wish I could have informed you of that ahead of time! I guess you'll just have to go back!

I did go to the Writer's Stop though after reading your other trip reports, and I loved it in there!

Oh good! That's definitely the second best spot!

I am glad you guys ended up in a resort you loved- We don't usually stay on property but our 2 resorts have been really nice, I can see why you wanted to leave the Westgate. We usually stay at the Floridays but this time we stayed at the Polynesian Isles (Not to be confused with Disney's Poly, haha, although that's my dream!)

Me too! Haha the places you have stayed sound better than the Westgate! There are some nice off property places... just not where I was!

Anyway, it looks like your Mom had a great birthday! Your ToT ride photos are hilarious!

Haha thanks!

I also just got into the Pin Trading on my last trip, and I can't believe I waited so long to start! I love it!! I started about halfway through our Jan trip and I got obsessed! Can't wait to go back and trade some more!

I know, right?! I can't believe I didn't start years ago! It's just so much FUNNNN! I miss pin trading so much when I'm home haha. I WANT TO GO BACK TO DISNEY!

Finally, what's up with the FastPasses??? I don't think we ever use them during the actual window they give us, we always end up going later. Are they really not letting you do that anymore, or just when it's really crowded? We were still able to use them past the time in January...is this something new?

I don't know!! It's so stupid. I don't think I EVER go in the actual window unless it is RIGHT after the FP is ready. And no they're just stopping all together. I think it's going into effect in March.

Sorry this is the longest, most rambling comment ever! I had a lot to say! Can't wait to read more!

Hahaha don't even worry... I have had WAY longer posts! Thank you for reading!

JESS!! I'm sorry I disappeared... again. Real-life is a pain in the butt! :P But, of course, in real life, today is the 1 year anniversary of my last trip to Disney, so it means it has been a year since I've been in my happy place. Sad really :'( SO I caught up and because I'm too lazy, uh, I mean, frumpy to write a ton of long comments for you, I want to say I'm really enjoying this TR again. I love all the tips you have been giving I'm pretty sure I'll have to make a Disney planning journal (which I probably should already have), but after so many TRs and now that I'm reading one that is actually generously giving out tips... yeah I need it. Glad to hear you are enjoying your new school! May I ask where you are going exactly? :D Theater sounds like a ton of fun for a major even though, knowing how exhausting plays (especially he- I mean tech week) can be, all these classes must be intense, but it's great to know you've found some time to update. Hopefully when I go into the crazy month for the musical I'm currently in I can find time to comment because seriously the month prior to tech week and the show is... insane to say the least. So I will try my best to comment as much as I can :teeth:

Haha it's okay, Timmy I totally understand! I actually was thinking about your really long comments RIGHT before you posted this! How funny.

Aww I can't believe it's been a year since Disney for you! I think that I left Disney a year ago yesterday. How depressing is that?!

Haha it's okay that you are too lazy to write extremely long comments. I understand! I'm a little too frumpy to respond to them, too

I'm glad you're enjoying the tips!

It sounds like you would absolutely LOVE to major in theatre. I honestly would think about it if I was you. I love my school and the program is seriously a hidden gem. I'll send you a PM of the actual name of the school because I don't want to post it on here. But I would look into programs such as this when you're starting to look at colleges... you would love it! I can tell that you have the same passion for it as I do!

Haha trust me, I understand the craziness that comes with tech week! I hope you're having a lot of fun! Thanks for reading!

HAPPY (V. BELATED) BIRTHDAY JESS' MOM!

I have a confession to make... I don't like U.S. cakes. I AM SORRY! I don't even really know why (although I think it's the frosting) because they always look so, so yummy.

And oh man I have a phobia of band aids and yours have mega freaked me out!! It's so big, ow, ow, ow.

You guys packed so much in in such a little time, I'm impressed.

Haha thank you!

Ahh you don't?! Well, the Red Velvet Cupcakes frosting is NOT your typical frosting... so if you're ever feeling adventurous, I would give it a try!

Haha yes that was a huge band aid! I needed it!

We really did - I was exhausted by the end of that trip!

I have read all of you trip reports and I love them. My dad and I are always checking to see if you updated one or posted a new one because we just cant get enough!

Aww thank you! I'm glad you and your Dad enjoy them so much, that's great to hear! I hope you continue to enjoy! Thanks for reading!

Your trip report is AWESOME!!! Thanks!!!

Aww thank YOU! I'm glad you're enjoying it!

YUMMMMMMM!!!!! OMG That cupcake looks soooo gooood!!!!!! I seriously need to have it next time!! I've only had the peanut butter one which was also AMAZING!

How sad for that girl who didn't want to ride ToT! I was so scared of it for the longest time!! But secretly, I was more scared of Space Mountain than ToT when I was little and to this day have only ridden SM twice! :scared1: Shocking, I know right! I was a weird kid! :confused3

Yay for riding ToT twice in a row!! My mom and I do marathons of ToT when there are no crowds!

Oooh, I love Beauty and the Beast!! We always try to watch it!! :goodvibes

That's awesome that your mom loved RnR! That is such a fun ride!! :thumbsup2

That's so precious! Hahaha I TOTALLY would have done something like that when I was 10. Ah I miss being a child
I am fairly certain we could make homemade membership cards cool again...
Grow up? Pffft never!
Ahhh weight watches, good for her (though she already looks amazing) I don't know if I could do that at Disney. I always walk into meals thinking about the healthy option...and yet..
Yessss add Hawaii to the 5 year plan :thumbsup2 Also at Aulani all the characters were walking around in their cute little Hawaiian gear. SO ADORABLE!!!
I just love when they dress up!
That's so rad you got to spend your 13th birthday at Disney! Seriously need to aim for a birthday there! Maybe next year...

Ok to the new updates.
Yay for going through the arches...again  It never grows old!!!
Last time was our first time driving (and boy did we drive, straight from California...45 hrs eeek) and we managed to get lost every single time we tried to drive from park to park. We kept driving into Animal Kingdom lodge-the guy at the boom gate thing literally would roll his eyes...well maybe not literally because that's very un-Disney but we got lost there so many times. Ridick!
OH MY GOD THE CUPCAKES!!!!!!
You have photographed them so beautifully, and the descriptions. drooooool.
I cant even read this update again, until I am there...holding one.
Too painful. sigh.
Definitely agree that they should hand them out on Magical Express!
Please have them at your wedding, that would just be too perfect!
Um Christmas tip #11 still kind of annoys me! That is wayyyy too early to be shutting! It really limits the amount of baked perfection you can have in a day. Why? Not cool man.
Oh geez, unfortunately it wouldn't be Disney without those delightfully pushy parents who drag their kids on rides assuring everyone that the child is fine, despite their child screaming and begging to be let out, clawing into the seats, terrified and clearly unhappy. Yep they're fine mum, good job.
Dammit white shirt guy, really wanted to see her face :rotfl:
That second photo literally looks like an elevator has plummeted in real life, so many limbs flying. Except you Jess :cool2: Oh and the guy on his phone...what the?
Surprise fast passes are the bestest!
Awhhhh yay mum! She is just ticking all the boxes on this birthday. So glad she loved RnR! What a great mother!
Arghhhh That would be such a perfect job! Belle is so wonderful! Definitely something to aim for! Just keep auditioning! My friend Sarah from Cali has auditioned to be a dancer at Disney a million times and she only just got offered a position there. Its just so crazy how you can get turned away from them, then all of a sudden you're what they are after. Its all about persistence, just like everything else:lmao:

-The lights on the castle and the snow pictures are amazing! They
are BEAUTIFUL!! :goodvibes

- I love the look of the lady in the white shirt with the white hair, looks like
it does not bother her at all! lol :)

- EVERYTHING at Starring Rolls always looks good, I don't think I've ever
seen anything that does not look good!!

-Glad your mom had a great birthday at Disney!!!! :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear more about your trip!!

I'm so so glad that you love it so much! It's the BEST! I'm glad my trip reports have inspired so many people to get it. And OMG yessss Kristen and I have gotten that ice cream before! It's SOOOOO good! :cloud9: Perry's makes it too but it's harder to find in the stores. Well, it is for me anyway.

Hahaha I looked at that picture again today because so many people were commenting on it and I just laughed SO hard. It's just hilarious.

Ahh I know I didn't take ANY of Gaston! I'm sorry about that. I'm just not a big fan of the villains and I always (unintentionally) focus on the happy characters hahaha

I would love to do that! Someday I will! And you should audition for sure! That would be awesome!

So tasty!! It's something I'll be doing my best to stay away from though! And no worries, I think I've got enough of Gaston to get by on haha. I'm glad you'll do it! Unfortunately, they've just posted the dancer auditions, and you're supposed to be 5'6'' to dance in that show :sad2: so it looks like I'll be sticking to FOTLK & characters!

Omg you got a semi good looking prince at Beauty and the Beast. I always think it's funny how the prince is usually better looking as the Beast than he is as a prince. Maybe it's just my love for cuddly's that makes me think the prince isn't as good looking :confused3

Totally agree on the Starring Rolls cupcakes. I will have an update eventually in my trip report drooling over another Starring Rolls cupcake.

dsc0651b.jpg

Holy Cow, I never realized how HILARIOUS this ride photo is! HAHAHA everyone is just basically scattered ALL over the place! Arms are flailing EVERYWHERE!

Continued in Next Post

:rotfl2:Look at your Mom's face!!:lmao: Also that little kid in the front row looks terrified!

I really could have done without seeing that absolutely delish cupcake at this time of night, when I can do not a thing about it. SOooo Hungry, must have cupcake...

I'm so bad about commenting on trip reports! I have been keeping up though at least! haha Anyways, oh my gosh that cupcake looks AMAZING. I've become obsessed with red velvet lately, and that cupcake just looks like the king of all red velvet sweets ever:laughing:

The ToT ride photos are priceless! The story about the little girl is pretty funny too. I love how kids are always so terrified and end up loving what they were afraid of.
And I'm so glad your Mom conquered her fear of Rock N Roller coaster! And on her 50th birthday too nonetheless, how awesome. RnR is seriously my favorite ride ever and I think everyone should experience it at least once!:thumbsup2

Hi Jess, I'm a lurker and have read all your TR and think you write wonderfully and are very entertaining but to get my out of lurkdom was this pic....

I just want to say that when I'm old as the lady in the front row to the very left I want to still be riding TOT too...

(BTW your mom looks amazing) :thumbsup2

Chapter 14: The Best Birthday Cupcake EVER!

My Mom and I are in the back row in the center, and the other Mom and her daughter are covered up by the guy in the white shirt's arms.

I don't think I've ever entered MGM through the "official" entrance. Even when we've driven, we've gone in through the back with the buses. :rotfl:

Oooooo Starring Rolls. I haven't eaten dinner yet, so I'm starving. This is not helping.

I hate when parents force their crying children onto rides. Like, I understand giving your kid a bit of a nudge to try something new, but I hate watching other people have anti-ride anxiety attacks. It makes ME have an anxiety attack lol.

Those TOT photos are the best. I love the older folks in the front row of the first pic. And there's hilarity all over the place in the second. Too funny.

I haven't seen the Beauty and the Beast show in quite some time. I'll definitely have to do that next time. Your pictures are great. :thumbsup2

Shocking, I know right! I was a weird kid!

Oooh, I love Beauty and the Beast!! We always try to watch it!!

That's awesome that your mom loved RnR! That is such a fun ride!! :thumbsup2

It was DELICIOUS! I want to try the peanut butter one but I'm scared  I heard it's REALLY rich haha I'll need like 2 people to share it with.

Haha don't worry I was scared of both of them too! I didn't go on Space Mountain until I was 12 and I didn't go on TOT until I was 15. But now they're two of my favorites! And yes, TOT marathons are THE BEST!

And yes, BatB was great! And I'm glad she loved RnR, too!

I am fairly certain we could make homemade membership cards cool again...
Grow up? Pffft never!

I know, right? Growing up is optional and I choose not to!

Ahhh weight watches, good for her (though she already looks amazing) I don't know if I could do that at Disney. I always walk into meals thinking about the healthy option...and yet..

Haha I don't think it's possible for me to do in Disney! I eat what I want there. But honestly, I think you get enough exercise just by walking around so much. So that justifies all of my unhealthy choices! CALORIES AREN'T REAL IN DISNEY!

Yessss add Hawaii to the 5 year plan :thumbsup2 Also at Aulani all the characters were walking around in their cute little Hawaiian gear. SO ADORABLE!!!
I just love when they dress up!

Oh my God that's SO cute! Just another reason to go.

That's so rad you got to spend your 13th birthday at Disney! Seriously need to aim for a birthday there! Maybe next year...

It's definitely an awesome way to spend your birthday!

Ok to the new updates.
Yay for going through the arches...again  It never grows old!!!

Ridick!

I can't believe you drove 45 hours to get there! Ahhh I mean it's worth it but WOW that's a long time! And hahaha OH MY GOD we got lost soooo many times. Between this trip and the trip after we spent so much time being lost. You would think it would be easy to find your way around. NO. Not really.

OH MY GOD THE CUPCAKES!!!!!!
You have photographed them so beautifully, and the descriptions. drooooool.
I cant even read this update again, until I am there...holding one.
Too painful. sigh.
Definitely agree that they should hand them out on Magical Express!

Hahaha those cupcakes are just PERFECT.

Um Christmas tip #11 still kind of annoys me! That is wayyyy too early to be shutting! It really limits the amount of baked perfection you can have in a day. Why? Not cool man.

I know, right!? I always want a cupcake later in the day but it's never open! So I resorted to having a cupcake for breakfast on some days haha

Oh geez, unfortunately it wouldn't be Disney without those delightfully pushy parents who drag their kids on rides assuring everyone that the child is fine, despite their child screaming and begging to be let out, clawing into the seats, terrified and clearly unhappy. Dammit white shirt guy, really wanted to see her face :rotfl:
That second photo literally looks like an elevator has plummeted in real life, so many limbs flying. Except you Jess :cool2: Oh and the guy on his phone...what the?

I KNOW, RIGHT!? And hahaha I know, I'm just being cool... holding on for dear life. Or giving deuces. And I know, he's on the phone!! That's funny.

Surprise fast passes are the bestest!
Awhhhh yay mum! She is just ticking all the boxes on this birthday. So glad she loved RnR! What a great mother!

I definitely will! I will just have to audition till I get something... or until I'm too old  And ahhh congratulations to your friend Sarah! That's SO exciting!! Do you know how many times she auditioned!

-The lights on the castle and the snow pictures are amazing! They
are BEAUTIFUL!! :goodvibes

- I love the look of the lady in the white shirt with the white hair, looks like

-Glad your mom had a great birthday at Disney!!!! :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear more about your trip!!

They really are! So pretty!

Hahaha yeah she's definitely not phased!

Mmmm I know. Starring Rolls is just perfect.

Thank you!

Hahaha it's hard to resist!
LOL oh good! Next time I will try to get his picture just for you!
Aww really? Well... FOTLK is not a bad gig at all! That show is freaking AWESOME! I wish I was more of a dancer so I could audition!

Hahaha my friend and I were seriously JUST discussing how Beast isn't a very attractive human. Like.. you would think they would make him cute because Belle is super pretty! But oh well. I like him better as the Beast as well.

Mmm they're so good! I will have to be on the lookout for that update!

:rotfl2:Look at your Mom's face!!:lmao: Also that little kid in the front row looks terrified!

I really could have done without seeing that absolutely delish cupcake at this time of night, when I can do not a thing about it. SOooo Hungry, must have cupcake...

Hahaha my Mom looks like she's trying to eat something :lmao: And LOL that little kid! Poor thing. He looks way too young to be on that ride!

LOL I'm sorry! It's just so beautiful I had to post pictures! I get hungry every time I see a picture of it, too!

I'm so bad about commenting on trip reports! I have been keeping up though at least! haha Anyways, oh my gosh that cupcake looks AMAZING. I've become obsessed with red velvet lately, and that cupcake just looks like the king of all red velvet sweets ever:laughing:

That's okay, don't worry! I'm just glad you're here and reading! Mmm that cupcake is so good. I became obsessed with Red Velvet this past year so that cupcake is just the best thing I have ever eaten!

LOL oh thank you. And I know, right? You just gotta be open to thrill rides. Most of the time they end up being super fun!

I'm glad she did too! It's a great memory to have! I'm so glad she was able to do it!

Hi Jess, I'm a lurker and have read all your TR and think you write wonderfully and are very entertaining but to get my out of lurkdom was this pic....

I just want to say that when I'm old as the lady in the front row to the very left I want to still be riding TOT too...

Hello! Thanks for commenting, it's great to know that you're here! Thank you so much for the compliments!

HAHAHA I will definitely be riding TOT when I am that old too!
And aww thank you! I think she does too!

Thanks for reading! I hope you continue to enjoy!

I don't think I've ever entered MGM through the "official" entrance. Even when we've driven, we've gone in through the back with the buses. :rotfl:

I haven't seen the Beauty and the Beast show in quite some time. I'll definitely have to do that next time. Your pictures are great. :thumbsup2

Haha I know I felt weird going through the actual entrance!

Mmmm I already ate dinner but I am ALWAYS up for one of those cupcakes. They're just so perfect.

Oh I know! I felt SO bad for that kid. I wanted to cry for her!

Hahaha those were two of the best TOT photos that I have ever been in. And they were right in a row! What a great day!

You definitely will have to see that show again soon! Except when the weather is super warm (in the summer) that theatre gets SO hot it's ridiculous haha. But thanks about the pictures! :)

Thanks for reading!

Chapter 16: Wandering Through the Parks
December 7th, 2011

After Beauty and the Beast, we went over to Anaheim Produce just to chill out for a little bit. We sat in the back corner, which was really quiet and relaxing. I took some time to catch up on my trip journal and Mom got us an orange to snack on.

dsc0714a.jpg

After a little bit we got up and wandered around. We took some pictures:

dsc0719y.jpg

I love this sign.

dsc0720g.jpg

We went to go check the wait time for Voyage of the Little Mermaid. However, there was still half an hour until the next showing. That wasn't happening.

So we kept walking. We went over to The Magic of Disney Animation to check when the next drawing class was. But we just missed one so we would have had to wait until the next one. That wasn't happening either.

Then we took some time and looked in the gift shop and continued meandering through Hollywood Studios. Mom saw this plant that she really loved. So she wanted her picture taken with it lol.

dsc0721v.jpg

And we also saw the Green Army Man just standing there, so I took Mom's picture with him, too!

THE MUPPETS!

dsc0723p.jpg

We went to One Man's Dream next and we looked through all of the exhibits.

And this Tree... ah it's beautiful.

dsc07352ok.jpg

We made our way through all of the exhibits and learned that the show still wasn't starting for a while. So we left. I'll have to see that movie next time!

We decided that there really wasn't anything else we wanted to do at Hollywood, so we decided to leave. On the way out.... I FOUND A DEER!

This lady behind us was swearing SO MUCH because she could not remember where she parked! She was yelling at her husband and she was all worked up because she forgot to write it down. It's important to take note of that stuff so you don't have adult meltdown moments such as this!

We got to the parking lot, got in our car, and decided to head back to Epcot! The first thing we did was grab Test Track fastpasses!

Then we decided to walk around the world! We started off in Mexico and saw that Donald Duck was out. There was barely a line so we walked right up and said "Hola!"

You can see from the World Showcase lagoon that it was about to get a bit stormy!

We continued venturing forward, and I just HAD to take a picture of my favorite ride of all time - THE MAELSTROM!!!

dsc0741cz.jpg

Hahahaha for those of you who are less familiar with my trip reports, the Maelstrom is not really my favorite. (well, top favorite.) But it's my favorite ride to joke about, that's for sure! It's just so frumpy. I don't understand it's existence.

So yeah. I don't know.

Anyways... at this point I had a very important message to send! You see, my friend, Lia (who is from the DIS) was actually in Disney on this very day! You may know her as __disneygirl... and she writes this FABULOUS trip report called This is the dawning of the rest of our lives... AT DISNEY WORLD!!!!!! I highly recommend it.

I knew Lia was in Epcot on this day because of her tweets. However, she had no idea that I was even in Disney World, since I didn't tell ANYONE. So I figured I should probably let her know I was there! I sent Lia a Direct Message on Twitter at this point just being like "hey... surprise, I'm in Disney too!" so maybe we could meet up later! I knew I'd regret it if I didn't tell her I was there! Who knows when we'd be in Disney at the same time ever again!

With the message sent, Mom and I continued walking through the countries. It started raining by the time we got to China. So we decided to go in the Chinese gift shop!

I made some cute little friends! We're basically twins.

dsc0743rh.jpg

OH. MY. GOD. (Said like Janice from Friends. Anybody, anybody?)

dsc0744f.jpg

DEER! (we basically look like the same person, right? I mean, minus the overalls. I don't know if I could pull those off.)

dsc0745m.jpg

I said goodbye to my little puppet friends and we decided that it was SNACK TIME! I mean, I wasn't even hungry... but I wanted food anyways. I WAS IN DISNEY, I CAN EAT WHAT I WANT!

So we went to Lotus Blossom Cafe and got MY FAVORITE ICE CREAM IN THE ENTIRE WORLD! Strawberry Red Bean Ice Cream. You may have heard me rave about it in my February Trip report. AHH it's so good.

There is something about that flavor that is unbelievably fantastic. I don't know why it tastes so good, but it does. It's better than regular ice cream. YOU MUST TRY IT!

dsc0746u.jpg

Unfortunately, the one we got was a little melted... but even so, it tasted delicious.

And the beautiful thing about that Ice Cream is that it is not that many calories! Not that calories count in Disney... but I mean, the nutrition facts are on the bottom of the container. So I looked. I didn't feel guilty about eating this at all!

Wow a Friday update, how lucky are we!?!? That was a nice relaxed update. I really enjoy the One Man's Dream exhibit. The kids get a little bored, but I could stay in there for hours reading about Walt and his dream. I must have some norwegian roots or something. I have fallen in love with Norway. I agree that the ride is a little frumpulicious, but I just think the Norwegian story is neat. I also love, and always buy, Geir Ness cologne. This Christmas Geir himself was there signing bottles of his cologne. I have got to try that ice cream next time. I always forget :(

i absolutely love your trip report so far! your excitement for disney reminds me of myself and your mom is so cute! cant wait to read more! also congrats on doing what you love and not just settling! good luck with school! now that i started reading this one, im gonna go back and read the rest of your reports because they are that good :cool1:

-What a nice picture of you and your mom!
-How funny is that! My mom wanted her picture in front of a plant too...well, actually it was two different plants :p

-I went into One Man's Dream for the first time on my last trip and I love it! It's so neat to see the classic stuff from Walt Disney!
-I also love that man ;)
-Hah! DEER FACE :)

-Funny story about parking :) In 2004 me, my mom and step-dad, my younger brother, and my grandparents all were at Animal Kingdom. We had just finished eating dinner at Rainforest Cafe and my grandpa went to get the car. 20 minutes later, we saw him riding on one of the trams, with no one else on it but him, and he was like "Hey guys, I can't find the car, wanna help me?" Lol! It was really funny!
-Awww! I really want a picture with Sombrero Donald! I looked for him last time, but I never found him :(
-Wow! The water is really choppy! I LOVE storms though, so I would love to have been there!
-I LOVE Maelstrom! It's not my favorite ride (Splash Mountain is), but I do like to ride it! I also don't get why it's there though...it just doesn't make sense!
-Hah! Love your friends ;)
-That is super crazy how similar you guys look!
-I haven't had the strawberry red bean ice cream, but I love red bean ice cream, so I will probably love it! I kinda prefer the green tea ice cream, but I might have to try it!

YAY! An update... this is just so monumental for me after so many months of not being on the DIS lol

Sorry to hear you seemed to be turned away by all these places you wanted to try. I hate when that happens in Disney World. You want to go on a ride and it's broken down; you want to see a show and it's closed and the list just goes on and on. Not fun at all, but us DISers know how to maneuver around it.

Love the picture of you and your mom in front of the Animation Courtyard sign :) Big :thumbsup2 to One Man's Dream, still need to go in there. Walt is my hero and yet I haven't gone in there (I blame my non-Disney crazy friends :sad2:), maybe next time (whenever that may be :rolleyes2)

Can't believe the lady on the tram. Swearing in Disney World?! Please lady save that for Universal (*giggles*) or some place else at least (since Universal really isn't the place to do it either). Though I think swearing because you can't find a parking space... pretty pathetic. People these days :sad2:

:thumbsup2 to Test Track FPs and the Donald photo! He is just awesome (like every other Disney-related thing lol) LOL @ your little shpiel about Maelstrom (since I know what you're talking about). It really is fun to make fun of that ride :lmao: And way to tell Lia about you being in Disney and not me. Seriously, I shouldn't talk to you after this uh-uh... jk lol

YAY China! I love the little gift shop they have there, they just have too much stuff to play with there, especially the puppets. :goodvibes Good times, good times... And I really think you should dress like that puppet for halloween or something, because you'd have a sick costume if you did :thumbsup2

Ooooo... Strawberry Red Bean Ice Cream... I'm seriously prepared to just run all the way to Disney World at this point because of you, Kristen's, Kara's... okay basically all you frumps descriptions of Disney food. Seriously my mouth is watering right now. I'm definitely keeping that on my list for a snack when I'm next in EPCOT (whenever that may be :( )

Way for me to end on a bad note right... okay, well as always can't wait to read more (hope you and Lia get to meet up!)! :mickeyjum

They made a STD just for you, Jess!

(And this time I figured out how to make the image IN the post! Yay me!)

That ice cream looks fantastic. I have put it on my "To Do" list for my next trip.
