Your ULTIMATE SURVIVAL GUIDE to Disney World at Christmas Time! UPDATE x2 10/21

I cannot believe you took so many pictures of the cupcake. Awesomeness!!!

I'm glad your mom enjoyed RNR. It's such a fun coaster!

Yay, update! It's freezing cold in upstate NY today, so it's good to get a Disney fix.

Your ToT pictures are so funny! I can't believe that one person, arms up, managed to ruin the mother-child shot. And the second picture had me in stitches. The kids in that picture are pretty funny. When you compare the two, it's amazing that it's even the same ride.

Hope all is well with you,
Mich

Okay Jess! I just recently stumbled over all your TRs this week and I am finally caught up will ALL OF THEM. YAY!! All I can say is "Wow"! You do such a great job reliving your wonderful Disney experiences for all of us. I am a teacher and have been home with the flu this week, so your TRs have brought a little joy to my sickly days this week! My husband and I have been to WDW seven times together! Our first trip was in 2003 and we have not been back since March of 2009. We had a Disney Wedding (at the Boardwalk Resort) in 2008 and then went on the Disney Cruise for our honeymoon, so we love Disney too! We consider it our home away from home. Anyhow... we have been having Disney withdrawal a lot lately. We have an 18 month old little boy and have finally booked a WDW trip for June. This will be our first time to Disney as parents! Eeeek! We can not wait to introduce our son to the magical world of Disney. Thank you again for helping me with some of my Disney withdrawal this week with you wonderful TRs. I am looking forward to you next update! Oh, ya.... I am loving Kristen's TR too! You girls crack me up!

Love the updates :goodvibes It brighten up my saturday evening even though i should be doing my uni assignment :rotfl:
Anyway WOW that cupcake looks amazing  and the little cheesecake in a mickey mug was so cute :santa:
Loved all the Beauty and the Beast pictures :thumbsup2 its my favourite movie EVER!
I was glad to hear that you got a room on Disney property, I think once you've stayed on property there's no going back to staying offsite :rotfl2:

Starring Rolls= BEST. CUPCAKES. EVER....I could seriously eat these everday and not get sick of them.

I love the picture of you and your mom in front of TOT...it turned out great!

Yay for your mom loving rock'n'roller coaster...what an awesome way to celebrate her birthday with her first ride.

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

Starring Rolls Cafe does have good desserts, but the sandwiches are awesome as well..and sooooo BIG!! Once again you pictures are to die for. Makes we want to go back so bad. Congrats to your mom and her b-day and for conquering the RnR!! Love that ride! Looking forward to more updates!

Um, seriously, a fantastic way to start off a birthday. It really is so sad that the cupcakes do not travel that well. I have yet to try the red velvet cupcake there, but thoroughly enjoyed a white chocolate one that I had once. So gooooooood. I love red velvet so yet another item to add to my list.

Um, totally died when I saw how many band aids you had. Classic. You rocked it.

The second ride photo from ToT is hilarious. It's like total mayhem. I love it. I think I would look at it all the time when I need a laugh.

And did you hear the news? I know you have been missing your mobile magic and it is now available for the IPhone! And if you have Verizon, I guess it gives you some free games and trivia or something within the app. Have fun! I Heart that app.

Yay for updates!!
First off: The red velvet cupcake is my favorite, I found out about it on either yours or Kristens TR's and haven't turned it down since! Also, can we just talk abuot how I found red velvet cake ICE CREAM (and it's ben & jerry's!!) ah-mazing

I love ToT! Such an amazing ride! I LOVE that ride pic! The 2nd one, especially the kid in the bottom left corner! He looks terrified! Gah! As if you got through an entire B&tB show without a pic of Gaston! And you should DEFINITELY do an audition for Belle! Whenever the next dance auditions come up I'm definitely doing it! I would *love* to be one of the silly girls (or any dancer in that show really haha!)

I'm so so glad that you love it so much! It's the BEST! I'm glad my trip reports have inspired so many people to get it. And OMG yessss Kristen and I have gotten that ice cream before! It's SOOOOO good! :cloud9: Perry's makes it too but it's harder to find in the stores. Well, it is for me anyway.

Hahaha I looked at that picture again today because so many people were commenting on it and I just laughed SO hard. It's just hilarious.

Ahh I know I didn't take ANY of Gaston! I'm sorry about that. I'm just not a big fan of the villains and I always (unintentionally) focus on the happy characters hahaha

I would love to do that! Someday I will! And you should audition for sure! That would be awesome!

THAT CUPCAKE. I'M GONNA CRY. OMG. THANK YOU FOR THE MULTIPLE PICS. You know... I'm very full from eating a huge burrito and a cookie for dessert and yet, suddenly I am now hungry again. I swear next time I go to Disney, the second we arrive, I'm just going to go straight to Starring Rolls.

YUM AND WOW hahaha. Omg every time my mom and I go out to eat if something is really good we go "YUM and WOW". Stacey is a permanent fixture in our lives.

Tower of Terror.:love::love: I hate when people force their scared kids to go on it though!! At least you said she seemed to enjoy it in the end. LOVE all your pics!!! I miss it so much!

I think I talked to the same CM that gave you fastpasses! I spoke with a custodial cast member who has an older gentleman and he worked right by the bathrooms outside of ToT. He was so nice! Though he didn't give me fastpasses LOL... sheesh!! He was still really sweet though.

As I have said many times, you would make a wonderful Belle! :goodvibes

YOU'RE SO WELCOME! I just couldn't stop photographing it! It's so GOOD and it's so PRETTY! LOL a burrito reminds me of Chipotle... and I really miss Chipotle. Mmmm I want it. But yeah ANYWAYS (what the heck is real life food compared to Disney?) Starring Rolls sounds perfect right about now. They really should just have one located right on the Magical Express so we can be greeted with that Red Velvet Cupcake right off that bat.

hahahaha that's fantastic. I can just hear Stacey saying it in my head. It is permanently engraved in my brain. I'm glad you got the reference. :thumbsup2

I know, I felt SO bad for that little girl. And even though I felt terrible and wanted her to get off, part of me wanted her to just stick it out so I could see her reaction. So I'm glad she did it!

Awww I wonder if it was the same one! He was definitely right in that area! What an angel.

And thank you!

:rotfl: I went to the show when I was planning my wedding. I sent a picture of these ladies to my Maid of Honor and told her I found the bridesmaid dresses. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: That's just perfect. I may have to use that joke when I'm getting married one day. But I'm going to pretend to be serious about it for a good while. :lmao:

So much to comment on in these last two post, so i couldn't just lurk!

the red velvet cupcakes are DEVINE! My sister and I have been, and will keep on, trying to recreate them! We are pretty good bakers, but I;m not sure if we will be able to! Anywho, YUMMM! Oh, and don't try to carry it around the park for a day. Sadly, it doesn't work too well.

Those ToT pictures CRACK me up. Did you notice the old man with his hand on his mouth! I was crying while looking at them. And the little asian BABY?! He at least looked like a baby to me! So funny! That made my day, so thanks!

I'm glad your mom rode the rock n roller coaster! My mom had vertigo so she can no longer ride it! So she empathizes with your mom! I'm glad it worked out for her!

Phew!

Lastly, the b&b show will always be a favorite! I have seen it in a while either because I always feel like I'm wait for a thrill ride or TSM or something! I should definitely add that to my plans for my next trip. Our school did the musical when I was in 10th grade....wow 6 years ago. Well, that makes me feel old. But anywho, I loved it and can still sing all of the songs!

Can't wait to read more! :)

Haha yay for comments!

Ahh I hope one day you can create ones that are very similar! It's hard to make Disney food at home, though! I don't know how they do it so perfectly every time!

That little asian baby CRACKS ME UP oh my God. I was looking at the picture with my Mom like 20 minutes ago and we were just laughing so hard. I love that picture.

Aww vertigo is terrible :( Kristen's Mom has it so I have an idea of how little you can do. I'm sorry she has to deal with that!

I know what you mean! I never made time for it on all of my previous trips last year... so I'm glad we finally saw it! You're SO lucky you did that show! I had the opportunity to be in it Sophomore year but I was new to the whole musical thing so I got cut :( Wahh. Maybe someday!

Thanks for reading!

Awh, I'm SO glad your mom's birthday is turning out to be such an awesome day! She doesn't look her age at all! That cupcake just looks like heaven, and I'm not even a red velvet fan! I can't believe I didn't get one while we were there in January. :( The day we went to Starring Rolls I wasn't hungry so I didn't get anything.
I had practically the same thing happen to my dad and I when we rode ToT last month. There was this dad and his son who was probably 9 and the little boy started talking to me in the library before they turned the lights out. Well after we exited the library I could hear him behind us saying he didn't want to ride anymore, etc. I tried to make him feel better about it and reassure him that it is really fun. Well when we lined up on our numbers he started crying but was trying to hide it and his dad of course didn't care. I almost offered to take him through the chicken exit if he wanted to, but I could tell the dad was not one who would've appreciated that gesture because he was determined to force the kid on. Wellllll the kid hated it and held on for dear life to his dad the whole time, crying. :( It made me mad.
End rant, sorry!

I'm really glad your mom enjoyed her first limo ride. :) I haven't see Beauty and the Beast on stage in years!! I can't believe it's been so long, actually.

Aww thank you! And I agree! I don't think my Mom looks 50 either!

I'm sure you would like that cupcake even if you didn't like Red Velvet OR cupcakes. It's just that good.

Aww that poor little boy! I think some kids get forced on that ride way too early in life. My parents never made me go on anything and waited until I was brave enough to do it. I mean, I didn't go on TOT or RnR until I was a freshman in high school... but the good thing is that I'm not scarred for life!

Ahh you'll definitely have to see it again soon! It's such a great show!

OMG THE CUPCAKES. I literally cannot decide. ALL I KNOW IS I'M GETTING ONE. It looks so good so good so good so good! Have you ever had any of the other ones??? I mean, or would you just automatically recommend red velvet?

Also, glad yall liked that sandwich because I read on another TR how 'terrible' it was. :confused3

I can't believe that mom forced her daughter onto Tower of Terror. That's just... not okay. Kinda serves her right that their faces were blocked on the ride photo... juuuuust sayin!

YAY for free fastpasses! I LOVE CMs who are nice!!!! You're right, you really stay put during RNRC, which is awesome! The only thing that doesn't stay put is your head hahah, that takes some work.

WAIT, your number one job has CHANGED? I AM SHOCKED! Hahaha that sounds like a good life goal though, I must say! :thumbsup2

GET THE RED VELVET ONE. Seriously. You will not regret it, I promise! I haven't tried the others... but like really... I just KNOW. I heard that the Chocolate PB one is just WAYYYY too rich. Same with the butterfinger. And I'm sure the Marble is good, but I feel like it would be too "normal." The Red Velvet is light (for a cupcake), delicious, unique, perfect, and a billion other great things.

Oh no, that sandwich is definitely not terrible! Maybe their sandwich was sitting out for a while or they weren't adventurous eaters or something. All I know is that ours was REALLY good!

Hahaha I know, seriously! That's wasn't fair to that poor little girl! I hope she actually goes on it again someday haha

Ahh I agree about your head going all over the place on RnR. It's a little painful sometimes!

I mean.... anything in the entertainment department at Disney is my #1 job ;) But I would LOVE to be Belle in BATB Live on Stage, in the Trolley Show at the Magic Kingdom, or be Jasmine. JUST ANYTHING.

I cannot believe you took so many pictures of the cupcake. Awesomeness!!!

I'm glad your mom enjoyed RNR. It's such a fun coaster!

Hahaha I'm a little crazy. But it's for the benefit of us all, really :thumbsup2

I'm glad she did too! It's tons of fun!

Hope all is well with you,
Mich

It's freezing here too! The blue skies in these pictures just make me so much happier haha

Both of those ride pictures are just too perfect. :rotfl: I just don't even know how that happened within such a short period of time hahaha

Okay Jess! I just recently stumbled over all your TRs this week and I am finally caught up will ALL OF THEM. YAY!! All I can say is "Wow"! Wow thank you SO much for reading!! That's awesome! I'm so sorry that you were sick but I'm glad I could bring some Disney magic to you to make you feel better!
Aww a Disney wedding is my absolute DREAM! That sounds so beautiful. And yay for bringing your little boy to Disney soon!! Ahhh he's going to absolutely love it - I'm so excited for you! I'm sure it'll be very different being a parent and being in Disney, but it'll be a wonderful new experience!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I hope you continue to enjoy reading along!

Love the updates :goodvibes It brighten up my saturday evening even though i should be doing my uni assignment :rotfl:
Anyway WOW that cupcake looks amazing  and the little cheesecake in a mickey mug was so cute :santa:

Thank you so much! Hahaha I know, I should be studying for my 5 midterms next week... but Disboards just sounds so much more appealing in SO many ways. :rotfl:

Mmmm Starring Rolls just wins.

Thank you! It's one of my favorites too! I saw it in 3-D and it was AMAZING!

Oh I totally agree. I don't think we will be making that mistake again!

I TOTALLY agree! They're amazing cupcakes!

Thank you!

I'm so glad she loved it too!

Thanks for reading!

I totally agree! Aww thank you so much! I want to go back too when I look at them :rotfl: Haha yay for birthdays and RnR! That was lots of fun! Thanks for reading!

Um, seriously, a fantastic way to start off a birthday. It really is so sad that the cupcakes do not travel that well. I'm glad you think so! Oh I know... it is unfortunate! The only time I successfully did it was in August when I made a TSM run in the morning, got a cupcake, went immediately to Animal Kingdom and ate it right away. Other than that, it's kind of necessary to eat it there! You'll have to make sure you're hungry next time!

Hahahaha my band aids :rotfl: Is it terrible that I still have that scar on my knee? LOL I don't think it's ever gonna go away!

Mayhem is the PERFECT word for that photo. Frumpy Mayhem. Seriously.

I DID HEAR! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! I'm SOOO glad. They took away my late fastpass return time, so they BETTER make it up to me somehow!

Yum. I think that's what the overall expression that everyone is feeling right after reading and seeing the red velvet cupcake. I will have to get one there in May! I've been to Starring Rolls before but only got a napoleon. They have such weird times that they're open. I wonder why they close so early?

Yay for TOT. That's my mom and mine's ride too. So fun. Poor girl, and even sadder that you couldn't even see her expression. I love the TOT ride photos. They always seem to turn out pretty hilarious! :) Congrats to your mom for RnRC! Yay! :) My mom doesn't ride it anymore because she thinks she'll get sick. But I agree that it's a pretty smooth ride. :thumbsup2

Yay!!! 2 updates with my Sunday morning coffee.
-Lion King advertisement. LOVE that show. I saw it on Broadway a couple years ago and it was SO good! I am looking forward to seeing the show at Animal Kingdom
-Dying to try a red velvet cupcake
-Two rides on my favorite ride ToT. The pictures were hysterical!!! Love the two older men on the left front in the first picture. You are never too old to enjoy a ride. The second picture with all the kids made me laugh out loud. Too cute!
-Yay for RnRC fast passes!
-Finally - Beauty and the Beast show. My absolute favorite Disney movie! Can't wait to see this show again. I have tickets to the traveling B&B show in May a month before my June trip. I am SO excited because I never got to see this one on Broadway.

Love the updates! :goodvibes I HAVE to try one of the red velvet cupcakes on our next trip. I think that would make an excellent birthday breakfast.:thumbsup2

I love how much fun you and your mom have together! You two are so cute. I only hope that my daughter will like to spend time with me when she gets older;)

And I can totally see you as Belle! You would be an adorable Belle!!

Thanks for the update! I'm drinking my morning coffee and reading tr updates! All of the food looks amazing! I cannot wait to try one of those cupcakes from Starring Roles! I have only been on the Rock N' Roller Coaster twice, but I love it! I wanna ride it again so bad!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so subbing! I have read all of your other trip reports and love the way you write them. This seems like such a fun trip and I can't wait to read more. I hope you get to do the college program; I'm hoping to do the international college program next year when I'm at university so maybe we'll bump into each other, lol.

YOU'RE SO WELCOME! I just couldn't stop photographing it! It's so GOOD and it's so PRETTY! LOL a burrito reminds me of Chipotle... and I really miss Chipotle. Mmmm I want it. "They really should just have one located right on the Magical Express so we can be greeted with that Red Velvet Cupcake right off that bat." OMG Jess you are GENIUS. Please get this going once you work at Disney! and yup... it was Chipotle :thumbsup2 SO GOOD! I still stand by the fact that they need a version of Chipotle at the Mexico pavilion! Come on Disney, listen to our food ideas!!! We know what we're talking about here!!

Hey! I'm enjoying your trip so far!

Your mom and I share a birthday! I'm December 7th also.:goodvibes

Can't wait for your next update!

JESS! Love the updates!! I was so excited when I saw that I had like 4 new posts to read!! I wish I had had your advice about going to Starring Rolls early in the day...it was my goal to get a cupcake from there on our January trip and I missed it because they closed so early! Valuable info you are passing on!:thumbsup2

I did go to the Writer's Stop though after reading your other trip reports, and I loved it in there!

I am glad you guys ended up in a resort you loved- We don't usually stay on property but our 2 resorts have been really nice, I can see why you wanted to leave the Westgate. We usually stay at the Floridays but this time we stayed at the Polynesian Isles (Not to be confused with Disney's Poly, haha, although that's my dream!)

Anyway, it looks like your Mom had a great birthday! Your ToT ride photos are hilarious!

I also just got into the Pin Trading on my last trip, and I can't believe I waited so long to start! I love it!! I started about halfway through our Jan trip and I got obsessed! Can't wait to go back and trade some more!

Finally, what's up with the FastPasses??? I don't think we ever use them during the actual window they give us, we always end up going later. Are they really not letting you do that anymore, or just when it's really crowded? We were still able to use them past the time in January...is this something new?

Sorry this is the longest, most rambling comment ever! I had a lot to say! Can't wait to read more!

JESS!! I'm sorry I disappeared... again. Real-life is a pain in the butt! :P But, of course, in real life, today is the 1 year anniversary of my last trip to Disney, so it means it has been a year since I've been in my happy place. Sad really :'( SO I caught up and because I'm too lazy, uh, I mean, frumpy to write a ton of long comments for you, I want to say I'm really enjoying this TR again. I love all the tips you have been giving I'm pretty sure I'll have to make a Disney planning journal (which I probably should already have), but after so many TRs and now that I'm reading one that is actually generously giving out tips... yeah I need it. Glad to hear you are enjoying your new school! May I ask where you are going exactly? :D Theater sounds like a ton of fun for a major even though, knowing how exhausting plays (especially he- I mean tech week) can be, all these classes must be intense, but it's great to know you've found some time to update. Hopefully when I go into the crazy month for the musical I'm currently in I can find time to comment because seriously the month prior to tech week and the show is... insane to say the least. So I will try my best to comment as much as I can :teeth:

HAPPY (V. BELATED) BIRTHDAY JESS' MOM!

I have a confession to make... I don't like U.S. cakes. I AM SORRY! I don't even really know why (although I think it's the frosting) because they always look so, so yummy.

And oh man I have a phobia of band aids and yours have mega freaked me out!! It's so big, ow, ow, ow.

You guys packed so much in in such a little time, I'm impressed.

I have read all of you trip reports and I love them. My dad and I are always checking to see if you updated one or posted a new one because we just cant get enough!
