Pirate Night-do adults dress up?

I was wondering if adults typically dress up on Pirate Night? My DH and DD and I dressed up for Halloween while in WDW and felt comfortable doing this-there were lots of adults dressed up. I was wondering if we should plan pirate costumes for all three of us for the cruise? Thanks!

Not sure about typically. Some do -- probably less than a majority, but enough that if you did you certainly wouldn't look out of place in the least.

If you'd have fun doing it, you won't be alone.

Some do. You will see everything from full costumes (there are a couple of people who do Captain Sparrow as well as Disney does!) to t-shirts to temp. tattoos (given away on the ship at the DVC desk) to jeans and plain t-shirts.

No matter what you decide, others will be wearing the same sort of thing. There is no wrong answer here.

We always dress up for it.

Some people totally dress up (like they just stepped off the POTC set), others just wear pirate themed t-shirts and the bandana DCL gives them. And there are people who had no idea that dressing up is done and don't.

:cutie:

Sure, some do. Some really go all out and some just wear pirate tee shirts. Some don't bother and just wear the bandana they give you.

We got really nice Pirate costumes to wear for our last cruise.
since we have to fly for our next one, we'll probably do something more simple.

We've seen a broad range on this. From full pirate costume to "pirate night? What's that?" Whatever you chose you won't be the only one.

My cruising group is pretty emblematic of cruisers in general - I go all out, most wear pirate-y tees or simple pirate accessories (eyepatch, some extra bling), and then there's the odd person who has to be cajoled into just wearing the bandana. I love dressing up and doing always gets positive comments from the CMs and other guests. They seem to really appreciate that I'm as into it as they are!

The lovely couple at our Table on the Wonder dressed up in full costume and they looked amazing. If we didn't have to cross the Pond we would dress up also. There were quite a few adult guests dressed up I'm happy to say.

The whole wonderful point of Disney is becoming a child again during your Disney Vacation. :wizard:

When you're done looking at my ugly mug, take a look at Chip. Notice his eyepatch and hook? That's my favourite part of that picture! :rotfl:

We plan to dress up for our upcoming cruise. We were pirates for MNSSHP so we already have the costumes. There are usually lots of people dressed up, adults and kids alike. :goodvibes

There were 11 of us all together on our last cruise and we ALL dressed up in full costume. It is sooo much fun.. We had many many people who did not dress come up to us and tell us how great we looked and how they wish they had dressed too... Step out of the box and do it! You will have a BLAST!!!

Yes people dress up.pirate: There will be 4 of us on the 25 feb Magic Easternlooking forward to it. Youngest 55, oldest 64. Its a real kick in the head. Join the fun... Like the poster said "Its YOUR vacation":cloud9:

otherwise, they gave us all pirate bandanas on the party night so that we at least had some headgear.

We will be on the 5 night to Canada in September 2012 and I hope they do a pirate night. We are 4 adults and plan on dressing up.

Linda

We all dressed up on our Dream cruise last fall. 4 adults. And we were the folks who looked like Jack Sparrow and company. My husband even challenged little kids to dual with his plastic sword!
