Why Not Just Queue Up Another Disney Trip? Link to New TR 6/24 p136!

Ok I'm here!! Late but here. The whole month of Dec was a blur & just got back from WDW last weekend, so catching up!!

I need to book my Oct girls trip dates. I need to conference with Brook & Katie S & see if they're planning on coming.

I just realized I should at least suggest a coffee alternative since a lot of people on here seem to detest Disney's coffee situation. Bodum has a french press travel mug, available on Amazon for $30, which is perfect. You can take your own coffee, and all you need is the hot water, which you can heat up with the coffee machines in the rooms. I've bought one for my mother and step-mom since they both love coffee. Just a suggestion, but very convenient little things.

Late to comment on the F&W meet but Tina, Sheree and Pat! :cool1: Very very cool.

:

I'm very excited about this DIS meet indeed! :cool1:

Mary Ellen should say we are "both" addicts when it comes to coffee so wherever we end up...we'll be prepared. Or watch out. :rotfl:

When I withdraw I get a terrible, terrible headache. It is not pretty. If I can't drink anything in the morning for tests, ect. I have to drink coffee at night so I don't get a headache.

That is NOT pretty.

I was giddy booking at 11 months for Food and Wine.

I bet! How cool to be able to book there at 11months. I was more like - well, we can try for BWV or BC at 7 months or we can switch to OKW or AKL standard view at 7 months to save points. That doesn't say much about my home resort, does it? I love VWL but for October I don't think its the best location except to go to the Halloween party.

The trick is not feeling bad about leaving it on the list. I am still learning how to do that, but I am getting better.

I'm pretty good at doing it as long as I have another trip planned.

Nes c**p fee is what I call it. I hear you on just drinking enough. That is what I did if I was at POP without a coffeemaker.
:lmao:

Welcome back!!!!! Did you start a TR? I hope you had a great. I can't wait to hear about it!!!!

Conference away and then pick a date that includes October 18th! :thumbsup2

This is an awesome idea. I will definitely look into this! :woohoo: Thanks for the awesome suggestion.

I agree. This is an awesome idea.

Hi Friends:

I felt like I should do a quick "life" update since I haven't had time to do a real update.

I worked all week on a video for Nick's soccer banquet. That's all I did every evening. It was pretty time consuming. Yesterday I had another Woodstock rehearsal and then I FINALLY put away my Christmas decorations. I was supposed to do that two weeks ago when I went to spend the weekend with my dad.

Well, it's FINALLY done!

Last week I had an awesome local DIS meet. I actually found a DISer who not only lives in my state, but lives pretty darn close to my house.

My DIS meet was last Saturday night with no other than...................

IMG_2788.jpg

Captain Oblivious (Mark), his lovely wife Mrs. Knowitall (Julie), and their super cool kids - David, Sarah, and Scotty! Mark and Julie were kind enough to treat me to dinner at one of my favorite places - Friendly's. Thanks guys! I had a great time!!!!!! I mean - come on - who doesn't like Friendly's? And who doesn't like a DIS meet, especially when it's in your own backyard. :cool1: It was so fun! :goodvibes

Julie took this picture and Mark let me borrow it! Thanks again guys!

I think it's ironic that I would never have met Mark, Julie, and the kids if it wasn't for the DIS boards. :thumbsup2 I hope I get to see them again in the near future!

In other news, I am settling in nicely to my new office. It's bigger than my former office and it has a bathroom. Can you say "second set of makeup?" Woo Hoo! But even better than being able to touch up makeup at a moments notice, I have more run to decorate and I have started to put the Disney touch in my new office.

I don't really feel comfortable posting big pictures of my office because I'm thinking that may not be cool, but here's a little sample of some of the things I have brought it.

I have more Disney things slated to move in this week! It's so fun to be able to see my Disney stuff when I walk in in the morning and when I have to work at my desk.

I also made a new "2012" cover to my Disney travel book. These pictures stink, but you get the idea.

I'm sure some of you recognize this stuff from the latest Mickey Monitor mail. I put it to good use, don't you think?

So I hope to start my Day 2 update in the next day or so. Tonight is the Soccer banquet so I need to do some chores before we go.

Hope everyone's having a fun weekend and I promise a real update soon.

OH WAIT - I almost forgot..................

With all the DISers planning F&W trips we have zeroed in on Thursday October 18th for a DIS meet. I am thinking afternoon (time to be decided) at the Rose & Crown pub with overflow right out to the tables.

If you are going to be in the world that day let me know so we can include you in the festivities!!!!!! :woohoo:

rentayenta is in :)

Yuck. I'm lucky I don't have those issues. I miss it if I don't have it and will be a bit crabby but don't really get the headaches.

Nah, it just says that it's a high point location for that time of year compared to other options, it's almost the same as Savanna view! I guess they figure based on the Halloween party and maybe the general theming being kind of fall ish that it will be in higher demand? Wherever we end up will be good.

New office stuff looks really cute. I bet your video was a big hit!!!
My family and I will be in WDW Oct Oct 13-21!! I would love to come on the 18th. And since it is at a pub, I am sure Hubby will tag along :) (girls too) Hurray looking forward to meeting many "familiar" faces!!! We at at AKL Jambo-scored Club Level for Hubby's bday!

And the list gets longer! :cool1::woohoo::cool1:

remember the headache I had in May - it's sort of like that. Happened to me once at work (before I realized I was addicted and skipped coffee). I ended up getting sick to my stomach and having to go home. For real!

I think its like 92 or 96 points for our stay.

I still think we should try for Epcot area resorts, but if we don't get that should we just stay put or go to AKL. I'll let you decide that one because I do love AKL but I am also totally fine with VWL. I love running there and HATE running at AKL because there really is NO place TO run except on the treadmill.

Mary - I am SO excited that you will be there on the 18th. That is awesome! :cool1: I am very excited to meet you and your DH, but I am equally excited to see your two gorgeous little girls. I will spot them from a mile away.

Congrats on Jambo club level - that is particularly awesome. I would love, love, love that! :woohoo:

As of right now, we're at Jambo too!!! No club for us, but that's okay.

Only doing club for 4 nights for Hubby's bday. Girls and I arrive 4 nights earlier and are doing a savanna view. Never have stayed at Jambo before only kidani. Hubby is not really interested in trying anywhere else ;)

:cool1::cool1: So Cool. Jillyb here works close to where I work so we meet for lunch often, just not often enough it seems.

Me thinks I need to start a 2012 binder too. :lmao: I am up for this.! Now to include this detail somewhere.

Woohoo on having a DIS meet on your own doorstep!! That is great! It looks like you had fun! :goodvibes

I love all the Disney touches to your office - it must make going into work more fun! :cool1:

Hmmn, maybe we need to start figuring out our ADR's as that might help tip the scales one way or another. I wouldn't mind Jambo for sure but...the running thing kind of bites and I know how much you love it. I'm honestly pretty flexible.

YAY Mary and DH and the girls! How fun. And very very cool on club level, I would love that someday.

Hey...the office looks great. :thumbsup2 I've always loved the print of Mickey saluting the fireman.

And I truly cannot believe how many of us are going to be converging on the world on October 18th. Very exciting. My mom is going to think I'm capital C crazy.

And you got to have a local Dismeet, too. That's fantastic.

Hope the soccer banquet is fun.

What a fun DisMeet! Your meet in October sounds awesome too!

Your Disney touches in your office look great! I have a few pictures of the Boardwalk and the Epcot ball up around my desk, and of course I bring my refillable mug every day!

Who says we have to be in WDW to have a Dis-meet....being close to home and having one is just as good! Looks like a great time was had by all!

Love the Disney touches in your office....I have pictures on the wall in our hallway that greet me every morning before I leave for work...and they remind me why I do what I do...to get to my happy place as often as possible!

You all are going to have a grand time and I know that your meet(s) will be sooo much fun!

I bit the bullet and booked our Oct. trip this evening and we went with the last weekend. With conferences I had no choice and then the comp day after gives one more day to enjoy the parks!
I hate it that we will miss all the happenings but so glad that we will get to finally meet you this summer!:goodvibes

Hi There!

Your office looks FAB! Awesome!!

And put me down for the meet. :) I'm 99% sure my dates are the 17-21, so I'd love to see everyone!!

As of right now, we're at Jambo too!!! No club for us, but that's okay.

Nice! I really do want to try Jambo since I've already stayed Kidani. I just love it there. :goodvibes

Only doing club for 4 nights for Hubby's bday. Girls and I arrive 4 nights earlier and are doing a savanna view. Never have stayed at Jambo before only kidani. Hubby is not really interested in trying anywhere else ;)

Only 4 nights. You are so deprived. :rotfl: I can understand your husband's desire to stay only there. It really is a wonderful resort. One of my absolute favs. Even when I stayed in a standard 2BR villa I was blown out of the water by the rooms and this great resort. I really enjoyed those general viewing areas and all the big windows along the halls allowing 24/7 access to animals.

:cool1::cool1: So Cool. Jillyb here works close to where I work so we meet for lunch often, just not often enough it seems.

It was such a fun meet and I'm glad you also found a DISer who lives close to you. The internet has really helped with the saying, "It's a small world after all". :rotfl:

Me thinks I need to start a 2012 binder too. :lmao: I am up for this.! Now to include this detail somewhere.

I love my binder. It's not all tricked out with computer graphics, but something about cutting and pasting Disney pictures gives me the warm fuzzies! :goodvibes

Woohoo on having a DIS meet on your own doorstep!! That is great! It looks like you had fun! :goodvibes

We had a great time. I really enjoyed it! :thumbsup2

I love all the Disney touches to your office - it must make going into work more fun! :cool1:

It really is fun seeing my plushes and my post cards every day. I had them in a room at home where I didn't pay much attention to them. This si so much better. They seriously cheer me up! :wizard:

I figured it was like that. UGH

Yeah - its like a sicko migraine headache. Definitely not worth getting!

Hmmn, maybe we need to start figuring out our ADR's as that might help tip the scales one way or another. I wouldn't mind Jambo for sure but...the running thing kind of bites and I know how much you love it. I'm honestly pretty flexible.

We probably should start thinking about ADRs. I would love to put Sanaa on our list. I think you've eaten there, but I'm not sure. I'll tell ya - the one thing I love about AKL are the pools. I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing, but I could chill by those pools for many hours. I also love the music there. It just takes me to another place.

I really don't like the music at WL, but I do love the scenery and those pools are pretty nice as well. So I'm totally good with either of those places, but I still think we should try for BWV.

I don't really have any strong preferences as far as dining is concerned. The only thing I don't want to do is have as many sit down lunches. I guess what I mean is - on several of the days I would prefer either a sit down lunch or a sit down dinner, but not both. I just feel like two sit downs a day is a lot when you do it every day. Not just food wise, but time wise.

I would mind eating at the GF for something different.

YAY Mary and DH and the girls! How fun. And very very cool on club level, I would love that someday.

How great would that be? I guess if we switched there we could always book standard and wait list for club level for a night or two. I wonder how that would work out pointwise. Hmmmmmm? And do they still have that sunrise or sunset safari just for club level. You know I would love to try that.

Hey...the office looks great. :thumbsup2 I've always loved the print of Mickey saluting the fireman.

I love that print too. One of my favs. that's actually the post card version. I brought some more Disney stuff in today, but I left it out in my car and I'm too lazy to get it. :rolleyes1

And I truly cannot believe how many of us are going to be converging on the world on October 18th. Very exciting. My mom is going to think I'm capital C crazy.
Isn't it great? And how can your mother think you are crazy. She's your mom -right? She will love you no matter what! :rotfl:

And you got to have a local Dismeet, too. That's fantastic.
It was pretty great!!!!!

Hope the soccer banquet is fun.

It was very nice. It was a beautiful hall that we got for free :thumbsup2 and one of the dads did all the catering at cost :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 The food was amazing - quality and selection. I ate enough for a week. :rolleyes1

What a fun DisMeet! Your meet in October sounds awesome too!

It was a fun meet with Mark and family. I am very much looking forward to our October meet! :goodvibes

Your Disney touches in your office look great! I have a few pictures of the Boardwalk and the Epcot ball up around my desk, and of course I bring my refillable mug every day!

I love being able to put the Disney touches in this work space. It really brightens everything up. Nothing like a refillable mug to really add to overall feel. You can always tell a true affecianado by the mug.
