Why Not Just Queue Up Another Disney Trip? Link to New TR 6/24 p136!

Thanks Tina! The drive wasn't bad and my mom went home today. I'll be going back up on Friday to take her to the doctor's again.

That's good, I suppose. Hope Friday goes well, too. And how are rehearsals going? :goodvibes

I loved commenting on TRs. Its too hard for me to read and not comment.

Then you are a better person that I am!

A lot of people lay claim to the BC. You are definitely not alone! :rotfl: But there's plenty of BC to go around!

Oct???? When????? F&W?????? Spill.

Thank goodness. If we're lucky enough to go back in July, I think that's where we'll head. Or back to CSR, if I don't want to spend that much money.

Anyway, because of the AP situation, I'm taking my mom down for Food and Wine, which I know she'll love. We're going one of the two weekends after Columbus Day weekend, so October 12-14 or the following weekend. I'd like to see if I can work in a Monday, too. But I'll probably only work in Friday. But I'll definitely be on an early flight Friday and very late Sunday, so I can really get three days out of it. :goodvibes

When are you going?

It's my second visit there and it was equally good both times. Good food and good ambiance. Put it on your list!

We are there twice last time! :lmao:

I agree that the mood is set the minute that boat leaves dock. I love San Angel Inn. It does look like the middle of the night all day long.

I also love the fireworks in the ceiling. So festive!

I'm almost afraid to ask what Mark does during that ride. :rotfl: I like the spot with the big oil drilling platform. It just feels "real" to me! And a little creepy! [/QUOTE}

He just repeats "Maelstrom" over and over in a very funny voice. And that mural at the beginning gets me every time. :rotfl:

Isn't that carousel so cool. I wish I had made it over to the Boardwalk to see what they had. I really enjoyed all the great decorations.
They had a gazebo with Stitch and Donald. I got a ton of pictures.

:rotfl: I just talked to Wigd tonight on FB and she told me that story. She also told me she is going to hell for the same act of defiance. I consider it self preservation. Too funny!

I bet they do. they were checking names when we parked at the contemporary to go to the cali grill. I guess they do that at certain times of the year. Sure glad my name was on the list!
She did it twice- once for the Contemporary and then GF. I had a co - worker who used to say instead on going to hell, he would say he was driving the bus to hell, since of course he was never alone in his behavior, but he was always the worst. I would say Anita was driving the bus this time. :rotfl2::rotfl2: I still can't believe she got through. She has the face of an angel.

Good to know about the pods versus the pouches. That's a lot of coffee with one pouch. I like my animal print Mickey mug filled as well. :goodvibes

It was hard to judge the coffee but it turned out OK.

Was he? I bet he was great! too bad you had to stand, but I bet that show was amazingly popular with him as narrator. I really hope you had a great time that weekend. :goodvibes

When I called to try and make reservations for the dinner package, and there was nothing even the CM commented on how popular he was. Oh well, I learned my lesson. The CP really was very very nice, but I don't think I'll do it again unless there's someone I really want to see. We jam packed those four days like we never did before. I thought we'd be able to relax by the pool in the 'spare time' we had. Ha! Not a chance! I keep meaning to start a TR because it really was a wonderful vacation, but I haven't gotten all my pictures downloaded yet.

Hope you are having a fabulous day!

Great Update! Your dinner at La Hacienda looked really good, I will have to add that one to my list. I love that mexico boat ride, I love Donald and adding him made it pretty fun but I admit part of me misses the old one, with the market vendors trying to get you to buy things and the little song. I like the Norway ride and the movie is OK but they really do need to update it.

The food at La Hacienda was really good. I definitely recommend it. My kids have always liked the boat ride in Mexico. They DON't like IASW. Perhaps its the music? :rotfl::confused3

I haven't seen the Norway movie in forever. We entered the theatre just as the movie was ending. Oh darn! Denny said, "Aren't we going to stay for the next one?"

"Huh?" I just kept walking.

I love that Gingerbread Carrousel at BC.

Isn't it beautiful? :goodvibes

Lol I don't think there is anything wrong with parking at BC when visiting the two parks! That's so funny about what the CM said when you went to park the car :rotfl:

Exactly. Plus what if I did just want to see the Xmas decorations. That could happen.

I guess that CM was gearing up for the big Christmas onslaught. We actually had our name checked later in the week, but you'll have to wait for that.

Yay on arriving at The Ditch and enjoying a lovely drink!

It was totally yummy, but the next time I will save it for an afternoon snack. Not a good pre dinner drink. too darn gut busting!

The Del Mar looks and sounds great! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

It was very delish! I would definitely have it again!

Great pics of WS and all the Christmas festivities. Also love the carousel pics at BC!

Thanks! It was a beautiful evening.

Have a fun weekend and good luck with rehearsals. I'm home sick. Oh well... And no...no idea about Shutterfly. I can barely use Photobucket. :lmao:

Thanks! Rehearsal went well. It was just super long and super loud. Too much rock and roll in one small space = LOUD!!!!!

Stop - you use photobucket quite well. I actually got someone to tell me how to do it, but photobucket is A LOT quicker!

I want more carousel pictures! That was so beautiful, it is hard to believe that it is made of gingerbread!

:rotfl: Just wait - I have plenty of pictures of the gingerbread house in the GF. That was even more impressive. I wonder what they do with those displays when the holidays are over?

I
I don't know about that avacado rita, I'm a rita fan & an avacado fan, too, but together it sounds icky!

Then you would like it. Totally not icky at all, just really filling. Try it! ;)

I loved the original boat ride in Mexico, the second one wasn't too bad, but the last one is lame.

:rotfl: There are a few lame parts, that's for sure, but I do find it much more relaxing compared to IASW.

Ilad to hear that the day with your mother worked out well.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Hope everything is going ok with your mom, and that your drive wasn't too bad. I hate driving in traffic, too, I do anything I can to avoid it! :rotfl:

Thanks Jen. Traffic is a bear, that's for sure. Surprisingly I timed it really well so I only got in traffic back here in Delaware.

Mom is doing OK, but it looks like I'll be going to her next several appointments with her.

When we ate at Cape May in December and then were going to DHS after, I thought of just leaving the car at the BC parking lot, but I thought we might get in trouble or something! Good to know you can do that! :rolleyes1

:

Of course you can. What if you were staying off site and just wanted to go there for a meal? What if you didn't have a park pass - you couldn't park at Epcot and go through the park. I think people on the boards sometime making the parking a big deal like you are detracting from some other guest 's experience because you took up a spot. And there were plenty of spots.

Great update!! Ahh, I'd give anything for a Ditch margarita right now. I love that place. :cool1: La Hacienda looks so pretty, but I'm too nervous to eat there, I look at the menu and I think it's way too authentic Mexican for me! When I think of Mexican food, I think nachos and quesadillas!

:

Tell me about it! Ditch ritas are good 24/7. Love them!

:rotfl2: I hear ya on the food. sometimes I prefer just plain old americanized quesadillas to the authentic stuff, but their food is really good. I'm sure you could find something you liked.

All the Christmas decorations around the World are so pretty! That would have been a really nice PP picture, it's too bad it's so out of focus! :sad2:

I love the decorations at the Beach Club, I took a hundred pics of that carousel too! Did you go to the Yacht Club? It is SO amazing in there for Christmas! I know everyone says the WL is the best place to stay for Christmas, but I think the Yacht Club is, I just felt SO Christmasy in there when we visited...if we go again in December (which I'm really hoping to do next year!) I will definitely be staying at the Yacht Club!

I am bummed about the group picture. That could have been a great pic! Oh well. Better luck next time.

No - I did not go to the YC. I should have. I bet I would have LOVED it. didn't even think about it at the time because I think we were all pretty much done for the day. That's the problem with a short trip - never enough time!

MEK, hope everything is going okay with your parents.

Loved the last update. The boys -- Jeff (Mary's husband) and Andy (our son) hit the Ditch and had the "Flight" of tequila shots when we were there in September...actually they had "two" flights.

Glad that your "boys" enjoyed your choice of dinner venues.

The kid in me really likes Maelstrom, I love all the trolls! We've stayed for the video quite a few times, and always come out happy.

Like OMG (she says in her best SC valley girl voice) how did I not realize you had started a new TR???? Back to spend the next several hours reading...... :)

Hey GF - Welcome!!!!! :cool1: Just start with the Disney stuff so you don't go crazy reading all the other stuff. Unless, of course, you want to visit HHI. But you probably live close enough that HHI is no big deal.

I just tried my first avocado margarita too!! They are pretty filling! But very good! I was also tempted by the cucumber one...

You did? Alright! Wasn't it yummy? I forgot about the cucumber. I'll have to try that next trip. :thumbsup2

Hope everything is well with your mom!

Thanks. She's home in her own house now, but still needs a lot of help. But things could have been a lot worse.

So, b&c was pretty crowded that night? :lmao:
:rotfl2: Yup :rotfl2: Standing room only and a line straight out to the lobby.

Your Rita looks fabulous!!!!!!! Yummy! Your dinner looks fabulous as well!!!

It was quite yummy - i love that place and can't wait to go back. ;) Dinner was quite good. I really enjoyed it.

Hope things with your mom are improving  I'm thinking of you!

Thanks. She is gradually improving. She's home in her own house now but still feels pretty tired. It's a tough situation.

:goodvibes :goodvibes all caught up Mary Ellen! I have been reading on my nook, and I can't reply there, so finally I finished up tonight. DH is snoring and the dog is groaning at me occasionally to turn out the darn light.:rotfl2: silly puppy I'm on dis!:surfweb:

:rotfl: poor puppy. Bad mommy!

I am bummed that we will more likely cross on the highway in June! so sad. but your extended trip sounds great, Disney time and some relaxing beach time after. I was hoping to get at least a few hours at the beach on the 9th, but we shall see how we all feel about breaking up the drive. first stretch will be to NC, then second stretch to PA.

Really? When is your trip? Is it in your ticker. I hate when I just miss somebody I'd like to meet. Bummer!

Your pictures are all so great. That is one awesome photo on SM with the water all around. very cool.

Thanks. I love that want with the water. That's one of my favs this trip.

So glad to see pics from both LTT lunch & La Hacienda == we will be eating at both places in June. did not realize there was so much seafood at La Hacienda. I am glad because Colin loves seafood, and that is our first meal in DisneyWorld (well ok we will probably have drinks and a sandwich at Hurricane Hannahs for lunch so our second meal:rotfl:

There are plenty of seafood choices there so I'm sure you'll both be pleased. They have a really nice tilapia dish too. I hope you both love it. Such a nice dining experience.

:

I hope your mom is doing okay with the new meds. I am sure you have researched them all - My MIL takes coumadin, and I had to take heparin after my c-section --- have your mom steer clear of vitamin K veggies -- broccoli and greens, or at least monitor intake. it can mess with the coumadin.

She's doing pretty well with everything, but I don't like the Coumadin monitoring schedule she is on. I would like to get her INR checked more frequently, but I also don't want to freak her out because Coumadin is the one thing she's not worried about. She knows about the green stuff. But they also told her to avoid cranberry juice and I have honestly never heard that before. In fact, I need to look it up.

bummer that you missed your DisMeet at HS...it is strange how early they close the parks sometimes. I wonder how they figure that out? must be based on average attendance i guess. It did not look esp packed in your pics.

I was bummed that I didn't get to meet up with Kara, but it is hard when you are there on a big family trip so I totally understand. Hopefully our paths will cross again.

:
ok off to bed now...its late for me. Hopefully this will give me good Disney dreams (note: do not fall asleep watching ghost adventures unless you want weird beetlejuice type dreams :scared1:)

Nothing like a good Disney dream! :goodvibes

Hope everything turns out okay with your mom.

Thanks Jackie! She's doing pretty well. She's back home trying to take care of my dad again, but she has lots of help, thankfully!

I did have to laugh when you said they were stuck in the third scene of CoP! :lmao:
 I couldn't think of a better way to describe it! :rolleyes1

That roast beef sandwich sounds fabulous, and what a fun meet with Jess and her crew!

That is one good sandwich - I definitely recommend it! :goodvibes

I really enjoyed meeting Jess and gang. She's such a sweetheart!

I love the OKW decorations -- actually, I love all the decoration pictures you have taken!
I love the unique way each of the resorts are decorated. It's so festive. OKW definitely had a great Christmas theme going on.

"You and everyone else!" :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: I hope they don't say that to us this summer.

I think they were a little strict because of it being so close to Christmas, but that was pretty funny. I park all over the place at different resorts and that was definitely a first! :rotfl:

Hope everything with your mom is going well!

Thanks! She's doing pretty well. I just wish she could rest more but its impossible.

Loved your pictures from the BC and of the carousel. That is the one resort we missed seeing in November.

They really do a nice job with the decorations there. I even loved the way the lobby of the villa looked. It was perfect.

Looks like you still had a fun evening even when plans got changed. I hate when I do that.

Yeah - its bad when you are so confident that you don't pay enough attention. I did feel pretty stupid, especially when I told kara what a mistake I had made. DOH! It's the only word that really describes it!

Sorry I just seem to get all my replies done. This isn't like me, but I've been spending a lot of time doing the soccer video for Nick's banquet and that's about all the computer time I feel like having.

Thanks for being patient!

Hmmmm....I'd get someone to beat you with a wet noodle as your penance but I seem to remember in a previous TR that you were quite fond of "noodles". :lmao: Oh well...take your time...your TR's are worth the wait. BTW, are you still interested in trying muscadine wine?

I only love noodles when I don't "tip" them over.

Funny you should mention that because I was just going over all the wonderful reasons why we should get an Owner's Locker. I forgot to mention noodle storage as a possible benefit. :thumbsup2

I would absolutely love to try muscadine wine! I'm sure you already knew the answer to that question! ;)

That's good, I suppose. Hope Friday goes well, too. And how are rehearsals going? :goodvibes

Thanks Tina. Friday went well and I am going again this Friday. The first rehearsal was long with a lot of down time, but it was fun. Those kids can really play. I was shocked! It was super loud in there so next time I am taking excedrin and ear plugs! :rotfl:

Then you are a better person that I am!

:

Not really. If I don't comment that I can't remember what I've read and what I haven't. I completely forgot and then try to read the same TR again, several times! :rolleyes1

Thank goodness. If we're lucky enough to go back in July, I think that's where we'll head. Or back to CSR, if I don't want to spend that much money.

Anyway, because of the AP situation, I'm taking my mom down for Food and Wine, which I know she'll love. But I'll definitely be on an early flight Friday and very late Sunday, so I can really get three days out of it. :goodvibes

When are you going?

The BC in July sounds like heaven, but CSR is a great alternative. I love the CSR pools - quiet and big pool. Great for hot summer days.

I am going 10/17 to 10/23. Cynthia (eandesmom) is my roommate again this trip. We are currently staying in VWL but I know we will try to move closer to Epcot at the 7 month mark. We were thinking BCV this time because the studio looks so cool (I will be checking out one for a few nights in June).

You should definitely switch your weekend so we can meet up. Let me know if you do because when we make ADRs we can include you and your mom for dinner one night! :thumbsup2

He just repeats "Maelstrom" over and over in a very funny voice. And that mural at the beginning gets me every time. :rotfl:

I would say Anita was driving the bus this time. :rotfl2::rotfl2: I still can't believe she got through. She has the face of an angel.

:rotfl: She said Marc was getting a little tired of the "stories". :rotfl: I noticed the line to get in the parking lot at BCV and at the Contemp was very long. Fortunately, we were on the list at the contemp so it was easy entrance. In fact, I don't know how they found our name that fast. I thought they were actually BS'ing us at first. This is the first time I've been there for name checks. I'll remember that if we go again during the holiday season.

It was hard to judge the coffee but it turned out OK.

The was I look at it is "just OK" is better than no coffee at all. I'm an addict so I will pretty much drink anything until I get the right amount of caffiene in my system, but after that I become way more picky.

When I called to try and make reservations for the dinner package, and there was nothing even the CM commented on how popular he was. Oh well, I learned my lesson. I think once you see the CP once you know what to expect. I love music and I love the Christmas story and having a life narrator, but its not something I would do every trip. I will, however, probably do it the next time I there during the holidays. Even when I did the CP package I still didn't line up early enough to get a good seat. I am just going to devote more time to it next time.

Please do start a TR. I want to hear all about it. Get those pics downloaded.

popcorn::

Hope you are having a fabulous day!

Thanks! Having a pretty good day here today. Hope you are doing likewise!

MEK, hope everything is going okay with your parents.

thanks. They are both home now from my bro's house and they have a day time helper. So things are ok right now, but I don't know how they are going to do it long term. It's a touchy subject right now. KWIM?

Loved the last update. The boys -- Jeff (Mary's husband) and Andy (our son) hit the Ditch and had the "Flight" of tequila shots when we were there in September...actually they had "two" flights.

That did look like fun if you enjoy tequila. However, I think those flights would knock me on my you know what. Good for them!

Glad that your "boys" enjoyed your choice of dinner venues.

They really did. I was so happy because I really debated over that one. It was a toss up between that and via napoli.

The kid in me really likes Maelstrom, I love all the trolls! We've stayed for the video quite a few times, and always come out happy.

The scenery in the ride is pretty cool. Ok - you've convinced me - maybe I WILL stay for the video next time. It gets such a bad rap I think the only time I ever watched it was my first trip 10 years ago. :rotfl:

Just wanted to let you know that I'm still here and reading along and saying prayers for your mother and dad.

Thanks! I really appreciate that. Having aging parents is really a challenge. They want to be so independent, but they can't. Plus its so hard to deal with everyone else's opinion of the situation. My aunt and uncle would like nothing better than to see my dad in a nursing home. And they aren't afraid to say it, that's for sure.

I'll be there October 13- 20!! I hope we can meet up!!

Yeah....you have your dates! :cool1: Well, we darn well better meet! :woohoo:

That's too funny, I've never heard anything bad about the video. It definitely could be updated that's for sure, but it's nice and educational. AND you get to sit a little longer before getting back to the hustle and bustle! Poor Denny wanted to stay and watch :)

Thanks Tina. Friday went well and I am going again this Friday. The first rehearsal was long with a lot of down time, but it was fun. Those kids can really play. I was shocked! It was super loud in there so next time I am taking excedrin and ear plugs! :rotfl:

BC really is...and walking into that cold lobby everyday was fantastic. And SAB at night... :cloud9: We'll see what I can make work. But I won't be upset about staying at CSR, either. I do really like it there.

OK...talked to my mother tonight and we've decided October 18-21. We might be able to come down that Thursday. :woohoo: I am so excited about the possibility of meeting you all!

Now you know the next time I am on that ride I am going to think about this! :rotfl:

MAELSTROM FOREVER! :rotfl:

I am booked at BCV Oct 15-19. Hoping vacation gets approved for that time am I will be there too!

I bet that was fun. I really wish I had gotten over to the boardwalk. That would have been great. Oh well - you can't do everything.

There will always be next time. :rolleyes1 I missed a few things last time too but I did get to some new things crossed off my list.

Compared to the "coffee" served in the food court this stuff was great. Trying to play Goldilocks and have it not too strong and not too weak for my taste was the trick.

That's too funny, I've never heard anything bad about the video. It definitely could be updated that's for sure, but it's nice and educational. AND you get to sit a little longer before getting back to the hustle and bustle! Poor Denny wanted to stay and watch :)

Denny loves anything educational. Everything he watches on TV is either sports, politics, and educational. He watches no sitcoms whatsoever. He's one of those "smart" people. I, on the other hand, tend to be more mindless when it comes to my TV choices.

I'm glad you're having a good time! :goodvibes

It is fun. We rehearse again this weekend. Of course, I now have a cold so that is going to make it tough to rehearse. As long as I'm better by Friday because that's when the first show it. Fingers crossed.

BC really is...and walking into that cold lobby everyday was fantastic. And SAB at night... :cloud9: We'll see what I can make work. But I won't be upset about staying at CSR, either. I do really like it there.

Love BC. We are actually going to try for BWV. That's where I am staying this summer. I know Tracy and Christine will be at BCV during the stay, but I really like that BWV studio and I know Cynthia is like me - she likes to try new places. I will be totally thrilled to get either place during F&W. I figure we have a better chance at BWV because there are more rooms.

OK...talked to my mother tonight and we've decided October 18-21. We might be able to come down that Thursday. :woohoo: I am so excited about the possibility of meeting you all!

That's perfect. I know that Christine (2xcited2sleep) was talking about a big DIS meet one of those days. I think we need to start working on it. There's no excuse not to meet when its a girl's trip. I love being totally flexible. something you can't really do with the family.

MAELSTROM FOREVER! :rotfl:

:lmao:

I am booked at BCV Oct 15-19. Hoping vacation gets approved for that time am I will be there too!

Awesome! I am so glad to hear that so many DISers have trips that overlap. Time to start some serious planning! :goodvibes I hope your vacation gets approved.

Must be nice to be a BCV owner. :)

There will always be next time. :rolleyes1 I missed a few things last time too but I did get to some new things crossed off my list.

.

It's always good to cross some stuff off the list and to leave some stuff for a future trip. I think its impossible to get a whole list accomplished. I enjoy going with the flow at times and that's when the list goes right out the window.

Compared to the "coffee" served in the food court this stuff was great. Trying to play Goldilocks and have it not too strong and not too weak for my taste was the trick.

That food court coffee is disgusting. I've had it a few times and I just drink enough to prevent a morning head ache. Being a caffiene addict will make you go to extreme lengths not to withdraw. :rotfl:

WOW! This might prove to be rather EPIC. Very, very exciting. :goodvibes

Looks like October 18th might be a good night for a DIS meet. I'm on it! :thumbsup2

Late to comment on the F&W meet but Tina, Sheree and Pat! :cool1: Very very cool.

Mary Ellen should say we are "both" addicts when it comes to coffee so wherever we end up...we'll be prepared. Or watch out. :rotfl:

Must be nice to be a BCV owner. :)

I was giddy booking at 11 months for Food and Wine.

It's always good to cross some stuff off the list and to leave some stuff for a future trip. I think its impossible to get a whole list accomplished. I enjoy going with the flow at times and that's when the list goes right out the window.
The trick is not feeling bad about leaving it on the list. I am still learning how to do that, but I am getting better.

Nes c**p fee is what I call it. I hear you on just drinking enough. That is what I did if I was at POP without a coffeemaker.
