Greetings from the Boardwalk Inn's Garden Suites!

After driving 1,063 miles we took a spin on one of Buzz Lightyear's XP-40 vehicles (there was some trouble in Sector 9: Zurg again!). Managed "Galactic Hero" status. :cool1:

All the best. :thumbsup2

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!

When I drive down, I use my own SUV. I drove down with it for 2 trips so far and plan to drive it down next summer also. As I get close to a trip, I watch the mileage and then if I am going to be close to the 5,000 mile mark since the last oil change, I will get the oil change early and also have them check the car out.

Howdy!

A few details on drive #24 (catching up to dvczerfs!):

We departed the Jersey Shore at 12:35 a.m. this morning. Cool clear weather and not much traffic. Able to get through some new construction areas (single lanes) due to lack of traffic.

1:59 a.m. DE Memorial Bridge
2:14 a.m. MD
3:53 a.m. VA
6:58 a.m. NC (1-hour rest/nap in NC)
10:27 a.m. SC
1:43 p.m. GA
3:22 p.m. FL
5:23 p.m. Exit #260-B on I-95 = I-4
[accident around mm 78 on I-4 East northbound caused 5-6 mile backup]
6:35 p.m. arrive at DTD hotel after 1,063 miles

[Not counting initial tank of gas: 2nd fill up $47.51 at Emporia Exxon ($3.57);
3rd fill up $45.75 at Exit #38 SC Exxon ($3.38) with miles to spare.

Tomorrow: quick drive to our WDW hotel! :cool1:

Right now: red zombie-like eyes! Sleep...Sleep!

All the best. :thumbsup2

Shock and Awe....
i just can not take anything more then 10 hrs with stops along the way. I think our trip was a little more them 520 each day.
I am in Awe of the great ones on the board :cheer2: :worship:
Enjoy yourself before the shock of winter, let alone Fall in the N.E.

I can't do more than 18 hours (or 1,100 miles) in one day! ;)

Ah, the weather you say: not a cloud in the sky today; low humidity; 80-degrees. [We need to move down here for the winter].

Drove several miles tonight: from Boardwalk to Grand Floridian to meet friends and have drinks!

Ah..... Back in our Garden Suite now. Time to turn on Channel 19!

All the best. :thumbsup2

We made our first drive ever to Lost and Found outside the MK; I had lost my sun glasses on Pirates of the Caribbean. pirate:

No luck, however. :sad2:

So, fellow 2,000+ Mile Round Trip Drivers, on your next WDW visit please keep an eye out for a pair of black sunglasses. :cool2:

Reward: One Mickey Premium Bar!

All the best from Boardwalk's Garden Suites! :thumbsup2

if they fell off in the water, you wont see them again. last june, dd and i took the keys to the kingdom tour for the third time. they showed us the retention pool for splash mtn. im sure pirates is along the same lines. there is a huge screen that picks up "stuff" before the water re enters the pumps. chances are slim to none that you would see them again. but, if someone found them and turned them in. :thumbsup2 dd left our camera on the train one year the last day we were at wdw. i called a few days later and they had it!!!! wdw sent it to me no charge.:thumbsup2 if nobody claims the stuff, its sold to the employees at a very low price.(so im told)

I'm sure the sunglasses will show up. Someday. On someone else's face!

Off to DTD. A short drive.

All the best. :thumbsup2

Out of curiosity, how many drive your own vehicles? What do you do to prep them for the ride? we are set to leave in just under 3 weeks, and our Helga has failed her pre trip inspection at the mechanics miserably  Almost $2,000 worth of work they are saying she needs. She is an older van, but we love her and dont want to get rid of her, but I'm beginning to have restless nights just imagining us all broke down somewhere in the middle of South Carolina. I'm freaking out. Shes had the oil done, a new water pump put in, next up are the rear brakes, ball joints, and whatever is now leaking after we got the new water pump ( I know, its THAT bad, we had no idea ) A rental car really isnt an option since a 12 passenger van is over $1000 (train, bus and plane are similar prices) and I figure we might just as well put that money into our van that needs TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS WORTH OF WORK. oh wait, did I say that already? sigh. My exciting Disney vacation has turned into Disneygeddon and I am dreading it!!
Oh stink!! We drive our own car but we have roadside assistance and that makes me feel better. DH does some stuff to the car before we go but honestly, I have no idea what :rotfl: I'm a lot of help...

I saw this, and thought about this thread and my current ramblings. lol
Oh I love that!! The lifetime battery made me lol

With drizzle in the air, time for a drive from the Boardwalk to DTD and a check of gas prices at Disney Hess.

All the best. :thumbsup2

It's horrible. We NEVER get to go out just DH and I. We have a big night planned in AC on Saturday night. I can't believe I have to deal with SNOW!!!!

Could be a Nor'easter!

we had snow on the ground here in central Mass this morning. IKt's pretty much gone but we are expecting more this weekend. Is my calendar broken?

Greetings from the Boardwalk!

The only snow we want to see is the "snow" at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!

All the best. :thumbsup2
