DISmoms 3! If the Tiara fits... 5/13-5/17/11 Complete! 11/8!

It has been kind of quiet this week so I thought I would share some news. This is a happy week for us, Disney trip in a couple of days and  my daughter had her braces removed. She is one excited child. She has been wearing them since March 2009. Sorry the pictures are so large, I am still trying to learn Photobucket. At least now I can upload and download.

Your daughter is beautiful. My daughter can't wait to get hers off. She got them in November 2009. So hopefully this year they will come off. Thanks for sharing.

Kate, your daughter looks beautiful!!! So grown up! My Ally will be getting braces soon. She has to lose 2 more teeth first, but our next ortho appt is December and I have a feeling that the braces will be scheduled at that time..... :sad2:

Ah thanks, Kara, Beth and dvc4life. We feel like we got the pick of the litter but I think most parents feel that way. She is an awesome child, quite the social butterfly and very compassionate towards others. She is a typical 13 year old but it does worry me that she looks and acts older. She has a crush, an old friend from her pre-school days. Luckily for us (the parents) he now lives in Japan so their relationship is strictly email. She does not call him her crush but we know he is. ;)
Her dad has a saying which he says he is going to tell all her dates, he stole it from the movie, "New in Town", "Whatever you do to my daughter, I do to you." :lmao:

Braces, when Sarah first went in for her braces she was told that nothing they do in their office should hurt her, she may feel pressure and a slight discomfort but there should not be any real pain. If there was pain they wanted to know ASAP so they could evaluate what was happening. Knowing that removed a lot of stress from her. Now regarding what it costs :sad2: , ugh, but it was well worth the expense.

I just HAD to comment....Your daughter is truly a beauty and looks SO HAPPY! I remember that expression when my DS16's braces were removed two years ago. We kept telling him (and still do) to flash that $5400 smile! And to wear his retainer EVERY night. Now my DD14 is waiting for the happy day of the braces being removed...she's been wearing them since July 2009 and they keep saying, "maybe next time...". :rolleyes1

My Al is going to have to have some teeth pulled before she can get braces. Her mouth is too small. She lost her baby teeth and her adult teeth are all coming in and there is simply no room in there for them all.

We could have done that palate extender thing, but it sounded like a medieval torture chamber device the way ortho guy explained it to her (Thanks for that Doc!) and she begged me not to do it to her. Now there is not enough time to have a palate extender do its job before the teeth in question come in.

I'm not looking forward to her next appointment. :sad2: I'm the one that's going to need the novacaine.

Why yes, yes I do have a trip coming up.... sort of. December with my family, my sister's family, and my parents for their 50th anniversary to where? WDW of course!!!! I'll be starting a PTR soon, and let me just tell you, this will be an adventure to beat all adventures. Three TOTALLY different families attempting to travel together. Oy vey! :scared1:

Fasten your seat belts....:lmao:

Oh, and have drink, will give dance lessons? I'll have to remember that one! LOL

Kate, your daughter is beautiful, and it sounds like she is truly beautiful inside, too! :cutie:

Thank god for mostly straight teeth! DS is currently referred to affectionately as "gappy", as he has lost 4 teeth on the bottom, 3 on the top, and only 2 of the adult bottom ones have grown in so far. The top ones are busting through right now, but it is hilarious watching him eat corn on the cob. He has no front teeth to chew, so we break the ears in half, opens his mouth up wide, and uses his side teeth to get the corn off the cob! :rotfl:

We're praying these come in straight!

Kara - let me know how that traveling with family works out. We've done Orlando in a time share with my folks before, and that was OK. THey're also coming on the cruise with us.

Yikes, Jane, I'm sorry I just saw this. I am so behind on everything. I have had this TR open in my laptop all week hoping to get a chance to read at work and am just now getting an oportunity!

Pretty good. We just returned from 6 days at Disney. We stayed off site this time (Westgate Lakes) and did SeaWorld and Aquatica also.

My MIL (who used to be a CM at World of Disney) managed to arrange for all of us to get into MK and Epcot free of charge. She has a friend (a wonderful friend!) who works in Mexico at Epcot. It was a surprise savings we hadn't anticipated, but of course totally appreciated.

Oh that's awesome! Any discount is a good discount but that's a big one! :thumbsup2 I hope you got your skull in Mexico! :goodvibes

It was HOT.
Yep, it's been pretty miserable down here!

And it poured once when we were at MK, though thankfully we were in Liberty Tree the entire time.
Well that's good that you didn't get drenched! :rotfl2:

How was Aquatica? We still haven't been over there.

I finally found the Ditch Ellen talks about and had myself a Hibiscus margarita. Sweet, but delicious.

Sounds amazing! I'll have to add it to my long list of must try's for our next visit!! :lmao:

I also just got back from the Fingers Lakes Wine Fest and am now the proud owner of 27 bottles of wine!

Woo-hoo! that's a lotta wine!

I cannot believe July is nearly over. The summer is flying by.
It's flying by so fast I can't even keep up....hahah!

How are you and your family?
We are good, keeping ourselves occupied! :rotfl2:
I'm looking forward to reading your RC trip report. That's coming up very soon, isn't it?
Yep, in just....37 days! :) Still lots to do! Shopping, packing. Teh planning is pretty much done! :rolleyes1

This hijack is over, we now return you to the latest DisMoms extravaganza!

Holy crap - Did the kids really jump off that cliff? :scared1:

Love the studmuffin picture - 3 to 1 - great odds!

The segway tour looks so fun.

Lovely pictures! What a great vacation!

Ellen, is it just me...or do you own a lot of lia sophia jewelry? :lmao: I sell it, and seems I recognize quite a few pieces...or look alikes:thumbsup2.

Sooo....after we finished our fabulous and HOT meal at Sanaa, we decided to go spend some money...I mean, time, over in DTD. First, it was time for our annual Christmas pic-

twice...

IMG_1633.jpg

IMG_1634.jpg

IMG_1635.jpg

We had heard a rumor that there was a great new Rita at the stand- Ruby Red grapefruit. It came highly recommended by our friend, Tracey (manntra). And the bartender was so happy we had heard about them!

IMG_1636.jpg

Hmmmm...is it just me, or does this cocktail look a little...transparent?

IMG_1637.jpg

As in STRONG???

IMG_1639.jpg

Laura had a friend she was meeting, whose daughter was in a hoola-hoop competition. We decided to go cheer her on- some cheered more enthusiastically than others....

Maybe Kara was right- it's fruit juice- at least a drop in every cup! That juicy-juice made us DISmoms a little more animated than usual... Moving on....we decided to do a little shopping at DTD. Kara & I showed our appreciation for the D&B case at Tren-D...

IMG_1641.jpg

Then we made our way over to WoD, where Lonnie & Evie decided to shop for new chapeaux-

IMG_1643.jpg

Ya Mon-

IMG_1646.jpg

Shy Lonnie decided on a subtle Tiara upgrade-

We really enjoyed all the new Legos-

But we still had one more stop to make...

To be cont'd....

Ellen! Welcome home! I'm glad your 'cheating' cruise turned out so fabulous!

Okay, gotta say the pic of Tyler with the girls makes me go Hmmm - didn't realize he had grown up so much! :goodvibes The cliff jumping looks crazy! I hope you do a little TR - I would love to hear all about it !

DISMOMS: Your :santa: pics are gorgeous! The ruby red ritas look so yummy! Love all the hats and tiaras! You are definitely the Divas of Disney!:thumbsup2

:rotfl2: Good one!

When is your December trip? I'll be there the 14th to the 19th. It's not soon enough, but at least I have a little HH between now and then!

We will be there the 10th-16th!!! You'll spot us a mile away.... my mom will be humming, Dad will have his arms crossed all ticked off at the world. My BIL is about 8 feet tall and will be getting passed by 85 year old women in walkers, he's so slow....... my niece, who turns 13 right before we leave, will have her nose in the air, too embarassed by family. Ally will be upset that everyone is upset, and my sister and I will be racing ahead of everyone trying to duck into a shop or something to get away.

And poor Jeff will be sitting on a bench crying...... :rotfl2:

Where are you staying? We will be at BWV......

I was thinking of you and "the gang" just this am &....

:rotfl2: OMG! That is tooooooooooo funny! Sounds like we better meet up for a rita at the ditch! You're gonna need it!

We are staying at OKW. I was originally booked for VWL, but forgot I had a memorial service on the 11th. DOH. I had to change the whole reservation. Then I missed the 7 month booking window for everything and decided to just stay there and not waitlist. Actually looking forward to seeing the remodel and having a little extra room. I've never stayed there before.

Ellen -

I can NOT believe pods jumped off that cliff! OMG! How high was that????? There is NO WAY I could do that.

I really want to try that grapefruit rita at DTD. It's looks so good!
