DISmoms 3! If the Tiara fits... 5/13-5/17/11 Complete! 11/8!

Anybody out there????
How many days until Ellen's trip? Any other DISmoms or DISmoms groupies going on vacation? Can you tell I am bored? Classes ended yesterday and I do not know what to do with my extra time.

Well Ellen isn't the only one leaving Thursday. I'm headed to San Fran!!!!!no kids!!!8 days in the city and wine country. Thus continues the glamorous DIS moms travel..

Yay!!!Ellen and Laura both leave for different Coasts in 2 DAYS!!!! (not such a stretch for Ellen) HAVE A GREAT TIME LADIES!!!!

Sorry to be MIA- but here's a quick update before I go on my cruise TOMORROW!!!!

On Saturday night, we were having dinner at one of our favorites, Sanaa. I want to say this was my 5th time here, and I am happy to say that I have NEVER been disappointed! We arrived a few minutes early, and went outside briefly at Kidani while we waited for our buzzer...

We also walked around inside, checking out the world's coolest bathrooms and whatever else was down there-

Minutes later we were seated, and Kara got busy right away-

Amazingly, we stopped talking long enough to order! Of COURSE we got the bread service-

I LOVE getting the bread service for more than 2, because you get ALL the dips! And as far as the bread goes, we got Onion Kulcha, Paneer Paratha & Naan- although I am VEY partial to the first two, I really, REALLY love them. We also got some salads-

Just for all of us to have a small taste of each. We were also flying the friendly skies this evening...

Although one of us had a Pinotage- yummmm-

For our main courses, most of us had slow cooked in gravy stuff, and the rest had the sustainable fish-

Both Laura and I tried the newer item, which is a Spicy Durban Shrimp. And let me just say, to those Indian cuisine fans out there who have complained that this food is too Disney-fied and doesn't have enough heat....this Durban stuff is your answer. HOT HOT HOT!!! I was fine with it (although I actually do prefer the shrimp in green curry) but for Laura it was a little over the top, so I asked the server to bring her the green curry instead- which she really liked soooo much better! The short ribs & chicken were both TDF, as always! The sustainable fish was arctic char, described as Today’s Sustainable Fish
with Shrimp and Scallops served with seasonal Vegetables
in a light Curry Broth Market Price-

Light and delicious as always! We were all enjoying ourselves-

What a cutie!! ANyway...we were STUFFED and it was time to move on. So after a quickie tour in Kidani, to take more pics that we have all taken before...

We left Kidani and headed to a night of fun at....

Can anyone guess where? I'll give you 10 days to decide!! Because I'm going on a CRUISE!!! BON VOYAGE to MOI!!!

I promise I will- I know it's so helpful for us umm.....DISgeeks....to hear about how another line measures up compared to our beloved DCL! I think we are going to really, really enjoy all the cool things on the ship- like ice skating, mini golf, roller blading, rock climbing.... and 9 nights instead of 7? There's NOTHING wrong with that!!

Why yes, yes I do have a trip coming up.... sort of. December with my family, my sister's family, and my parents for their 50th anniversary to where? WDW of course!!!! I'll be starting a PTR soon, and let me just tell you, this will be an adventure to beat all adventures. Three TOTALLY different families attempting to travel together. Oy vey!

It has been kind of quiet this week so I thought I would share some news. This is a happy week for us, Disney trip in a couple of days and my daughter had her braces removed. She is one excited child. She has been wearing them since March 2009. Sorry the pictures are so large, I am still trying to learn Photobucket. At least now I can upload and download.

Before leaving the orthodontist’s office they gave her a goody bag filled with sticky candies, gum and popcorn. And yes, she chewed the entire pack of gum in one day.

A question I often have had, how did DISmom trips start? I have read all the trip reviews but - who came up with the idea in the beginning, what prompt the creation of a yearly trip, how did you choose your name, etc.?

In 2008 Ellen and Lonnie did a girls only trip to WDW. Then in 2009, Ellen PM'd me on the DIS and asked if I wanted to join them since they had the room already covered by her DVC points. Ellen and I met by reading each other's TRs but we had never REALLY met, or even talked by phone.

She was like, "this might sound really weird, but I admire you so much from afar that I would be honored by your presence......" OK, not exactly, but don't ruin it for me.... Besides, she is gone this week so maybe she'll never notice!

But really, she did just kinda throw it out there. I mentioned it to Jeff and he said, "You are a 20/20 episode waiting to happen....."

Then Ellen and Cammie had met at a rest stop somewhere up in their neick of the woods, and so Cammie was invited too.

I had met Cammie for lunch at MK around Christmas time (maybe NOvember 2008?) and she and I had originally met on another DIS thread, plus we followed each other's TRs.

Since I lived in Florida, I tried to plan a weekend in WDW whenever one of my DISbuds was there with their families, so I could meet everyone!

I met friends from MA, TN, TX, MN, IL and England!!!!!

And then when Ellen and I first met (with my suitcase in my hand like a vagabond), it was love at first sight!!!!

And since then, I've done a very good job of spending her DVC points every year!

Kate, your daughter looks beautiful!!! So grown up! My Ally will be getting braces soon. She has to lose 2 more teeth first, but our next ortho appt is December and I have a feeling that the braces will be scheduled at that time.....
