New free dining offer yeaaah

my ta told me the date for the new promo was 8/13 and that she could not tell what it was or she could get fired, but maybe the visa card customers will be able to book on 8/3 and the general public will be 8/13 or the monday following. I am really hoping that it comes out the 8/3rd because the 8/13th i will be at watkins glen race way at the track and not near a computer or "quiet" phone (those race cars are really loud). Really need free dining.... for a trip for my son and I for holloween

Or quite possibly, looking at 2 different promos.. A free dining announced next week. New room-only discounts announced in mid-August.

Well I certainly hope this is true. Right now I am booked at POFQ with free QSD that I upgraded to DDP so if it is true then my package should go down by about $300. I am going to give this guy the benefit of the doubt. Historically discounts have not been released on a Wednesday so if this guy was just trying to pull our leg I figure he would at least put a date on there other than a Wednesday date. I say lets all think positive that this is just a nice fellow diser who came into some information and decided to pass it along!

And just when we decided to go ahead and keep our current September ressies LOL I wonder if we swapped dates could we exchange our MNSSHP tickets for another date as well since we already purchased those? Ugghh, but that would mean redoing all our ADRs and stuff....ugghh, I don't think it's worth it just for a few degrees of cooler weather.

I hope there is a way to get the park tickets a day early. Our flights are booked and we arrive in Orlando at 10 am on Oct.22 so we had planned to spend a good part of the day at the parks. If we don't do the parks on Saturday, it will have an impact on other days during the week (we were planning on going to Wishes that night - since they are not as many shows due to MNSSHP).

The discount would have been nice, but I don't think we want to spend our first day at the resort.

I wouldn't give on it if the dates are correct. I know there was some way to get tickets early from a package, you should be able to get that info from someone more knowledgeable on here. Even if you can't do that as a last resort you could buy a set of one day tickets. Depending on how many people are in your group, this would probably still be cheaper then giving up on Free Dining. But I really think there is a way to get your tickets early.

I have a really hard time believing that Disney would go cold turkey on discounts like that. I know they're trying to push the idea that the economy has recovered enough to bear the increases, but most of us in the real world know that's not the case. I see them basically continuing along as they can with increased rack rates, but the same old discounts as always.

I absolutely agree. I haven't believed a word of what they said all year. Maybe they were hoping a certain (non-DIS) segment of the population would fall for it and not keep checking?

You'd have to do 2 seperate reservations. That's what we're doing. The FD starts 10/2 so our package w/ the FD will be 10/2-10/12. But we will have a room only reservation for 10/1.

We're arriving 12/10 too and will do the same thing. I'm sure there's a way to get tickets early. I might need to find out!

Yep! that's what I've been planning all along. Usually you can get a hint of the offer dates to follow based on what others have had via PIN code.

To the op that make a question about the photobook, nope not photobook purchase will be needed. only at least 3 days rack rate and the park tickets and you will get QSDP at Values and DDP at moderates, de luxe and villas, you can upgrade your QSDP for 13 a day per adult, no cost for childs.
I imagine before post the information that some dissers will ask about the veracity of this new, and I can assure that this is true, only wait a couple of days and you will return to this post and say yes Danny25 was correct . Have a Magical weekend

And now I'm depressed. How unlucky that we chose the 3rd week of October. I thought for sure that by now they would have UN blacked out my week. Ugh. I'm just sick. We have a party if 6, so free dining would have been fantastic. Boy I
sure wish we couldchange our dates.

on room discounts? I know I saw PIN floating around with covered weeks starting 10/10/11. Does your insider have any info on possible room discounts?

We will be at POP Oct.14-23 and paying OOP for the QSDP. I am hoping that maybe some people will switch dates to take part in the promotion and maybe we'll have lower crowds. We can still hope for room discounts, too. It is still early enough to have some hope.

IF... these dates and offer are acurate it will cover the dates of the trip we are planning in early Oct. My question is should I go ahead and book my trip and then call on the 3rd to try and apply the code or do I need to wait until the 3rd? Any advise would be appreciated.
