What restaurants do you regret eating at?

I regret a lunch at ABC Commissary; the chicken sandwich I had was very bad. Other things there may be delicious, but I definitely regretted my order that day.

I also regret dinner at Tony's Town Square. Bad food, inattentive service, terrible atmosphere due to what I feel is excessive crowding (I know, everything can get a bit crowded at WDW, but this was over the top), and a bit of CM attitude combined for a regrettable meal.

For us it was Chef Mickey's dinner and Captains Grille.

Chef Mickeys food was gross and at Captains Grille it took forever. I really dont remember the food because by the time we got it we had to rush and eat because our toddler was about to throw the rest. down

Le Cellier for us. I think the main problem was the hype that I had read here. people were raving about how it was the best steak they had every had, which makes me wonder where they go for steaks.

We tried it 3 times because I kept saying to myself, it gets such great reviews until I noticed that most of the great things being said about it were about THE SOUP!!! :rotfl2:

Steak had absolutely no flavor what soever and was definitely not the best quality cut of meat.

But the soup IS FABULOUS!!!

Yeah, I'm with you. We ate there a couple of years ago. I will say that the Brazilian Tour Group made up of all teenage boys serenading 2 girls made for great entertainment.

I don't really regret eating at any restaurant. We've had some really good experiences and some not so good - but we can also have that at any restaurant at home.

Some of the not so good experiences:

The service at Coral Reef - we love the food but the last 3 trips, the service has been horrible. We are planning to go here again this trip.

My dd's steaks at LeCellier - they could not get the filet well done for my oldest dd - after it was sent back for the 3rd time, she gave up - we were all on dessert by then and my youngest dd's steak (was 5 then) was so peppery she couldn't eat it. I loved the mushroom filet and we will go back - just not on this trip.

Same thing at Ohana - 3 of the 6 of us was still hungry when we left. They stopped and got burgers on the way to the room that evening. My dh, myself and my youngest dd loved it but when we go to restaurants, there has to be something for everyone. Probably will not be going back.

ABC Commissary - only my oldest dd and my youngest dd ate here. My oldest dd took about 2 bites of her children sandwich and dropped it in the trash can. My youngest dd was only 1 and loved the lo mein - until she threw it up (granted she was just starting table foods and this was probably a bit much).

But the one restaurant in the area that we definitely will not return to is Medieval Times Dinner Theatre - the food was so greasy we were all sick later.
My oldest dd had been twice before when her school band went and she said she was sick each time.

I don't really regret any of the restaurants, but over the years sometimes I have chosen the wrong item on the menu. I do not like any theme park counter service cheeseburger or pizza. I know going in that the burgers are always dry and tasteless and that pizza crust is not to my liking, but yet I always think it may be different. Each time I have tried one of these items, it is always a disappointment so now I just choose something else on the menu and am much happier.

As many have mentioned, everyone has a different opinion..

Regrets:
Le Cellier Signature Dinner (definitely not worth signature status and me and DH got sick)

Chef Mickey's - I searched for months for this ressie and food wasnt anything spectacular and after an hour we left the restaurant without seeing ANY characters because they had not made it to our room...this was at 730am

Tony's Town Square - food was awful...if you want good italian do Via Napoli or Tutto!

On a different note, We LOVED Hollywood and Vine for breakfast. We were an early ressie so it wasnt all that messy...typical buffet food but not awful...and the character interaction was great (although DD is 2 so it was perfect for her age group)

The only place I truly regret is ABC Commissary. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was dreadful! Will not go back.

I was also disappointed in Chef Mickeys breakfast. As mentioned, location seems to key, and we're two time losers! Both times we were a hike from the buffet and in the no man's land for characters. Probably won't go back until future grandchildren are born, which better be some time from now!

:wizard: For us it was 50's Primetime Cafe....bad food and worse service. It was disappointing because we were looking forward to it after reading the great reviews. The other was Whispering Canyon Cafe. We gave it 2 tries and both times we had waiters that were not into the WCC antics. The second time we also were served raw chicken. Both of those are off our list.

After a dozen plus visits to Chef Mickey's for dinner, we will no longer to there. It is a mess, the food is cafeteria grade, and the characters just go through the motions. What a shame!

We also do not like the Flying Fish - overpriced, and the portions were skimpy and the food nondescript.

Final MAJOR disappointments were Citrocos and the Grand Floridean Cafe. The food was barely edible. The price over the top. Never again.

That said, we have eaten at almost all the restrurant in WDW, and we like most of them although they are rarely a good value for the money. We don't use the dining plan (eat breakfast and some lunches/dinners in our DVC villa by choice). I have sort of gotten in the habit of ordering an appetizer/soup and salad for dinner. It is usually plenty. If I am still hungry, I get a dessert.

My family loves Chef Mickey's and 'Ohana, and I think these are the 2 restaurants with the most mentions above. I have to say of Chef Mickey's, we did have one pretty bad experience there, but all of our other dinners were great fun, and we have found the food ranging from good to almost great (I love the beef with horseradish sauce and the mashed potatoes)! We also had a very good experience at Coral Reef last summer, and Cali Grill was one of our best dinners ever!

The only CS place we wouldn't return to is ABC Commisary, and the only TS place we didn't like was WCC. We didn't expect much from ABC Commissary, since it frequently gets slammed here, but we thought "how bad could it be?" Well...terrible! And WCC (the skillet) was just yucky!

Biggest regrets: Chef Mickey's. We tried dinner and didn't like it at all. We decided next trip to try breakfast. Better, but not by much. I don't think we'll be going back. Maybe with a first timer that's 'dying' to go.
ABC Commisary might well be the worst food I've ever had, not just at WDW, but anywhere in the world :rotfl2:

The only place I truly regret is ABC Commissary. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was dreadful! Will not go back.

I also had the cuban sandwich a couple of years ago. I took one bite and spit it out into a napkin. I couldn't believe how bad it tasted and like an idiot I did not belive my tastebuds and took another bite. I am not exaggerating when I say this is the most miserable thing I have ever tasted.

Well maybe not the worst, I did a dare for $50 bucks back in college years ago to eat a live gold fish, that was pretty bad. Then again, slap some cheese on it and place it on a bun and I bet it would taste better than the cuban sandwich. :rotfl:

The only place I would truly never eat at again would be 50's PTC. I was so excited about this place. And found the server really rude- even to my kids but not in a funny way. And not sure if it was the food or Grandma's Punch but I was seriously sick from the moment I finished my meal for the rest of the trip- and it was a looooonnggg 11 night trip. Had dizziness, severe nausea to the point where I could barely stomach anything. So much for the Free DDP!!! So much food going to waste :rotfl:

It could have been a GI virus but the timing was just too uncanny and coincided exactly with this one meal NEVER again :rolleyes1

Only true regret was the counter-serve place at Japan in Epcot. Ordered some beef stuff over rice and it was mostly a pile of fat over rice. Reminded me of The Simpson's episode where they briefly show the store-room of the school cafeteria with boxes labeled "Grade F Meat (mostly farm animals)."

We keep getting lost in the ADR system at Cape May and have had a few 30-40-min. waits in a row. I keep saying never again, but the food is just so darned good there...

Whispering Canyon

This place is amazing! One of the best I have eaten at! The expirience is so cool and the food is good. Ask for the server with the name M T Wallet she was fabulous! Dont forget to ask for more Ketchup! You will see why!

Le Cellier

Ate here a few years ago the prime rib was excellent and the ambiance is fantastic!

Grand Floridian

I assume you mean the cafe and if you do you cant miss this place. We eat lunch there every time we go and everything is great. Fairly priced and good food and its beautiful inside.

Hope you have a great trip! Headed there July 13th myself!
