Concierge/Club Level Information - Part III (October 2010)

The Halloween and Christmas parties used to be a good deal: the cost was reasonable, the crowds were just about right, and there was a "freebie" (keepsake photo). :thumbsup2

The past several years, they've cut back on the "freebies", ticket prices have increased sharply and they way oversell the parties. :headache:

I've made a measly 2, yes TWO ADR requests with the Poly IPO. Because I'm such a micro-manager (re: anal retentive), I was perusing the availability of the two places I'm trying to book ... and they're both available. Should I be a good girl and step away from the computer and let them do their thing or should I make their job a little lighter?

The only other ADR I booked was for the first part of our vacation -- non-Club Level. I'm so scared of commitment. :rotfl: Too many ADRs make me feel trapped.

:rotfl: I sent over our list of requests with full faith they will be able to secure what we want at an adequate time. I put the harder to book requests towards the end of our trip so that not too many other people would have a chance to book ahead of us....at least that's how it works out in my head.

POLY IPO got me every reservation I requested either at the exact time I wanted or within 15 min. I was a wreck b/c Im so use to doing it myself but they did an amazing job!

Phew, thanks for instilling confidence! I've just closed out of the dining reservations site so I won't be tempted.

While I was perusing earlier, I saw times for CRT open as well but decided against it. My daughter isn't into Princesses; shame they don't have Toy Story character breakfast, she'd be all over that.

Has anyone had IPO procure special event tickets for them? How'd that work? We'll be doing MNSSHP this year for the first time.

Poly IPO helped us with our MNSSHP tix last trip. We decided to attend once we were already at WDW. I think from the time we asked them to check availability to walking away with our tix was maybe 5 minutes

I think lots of kids would love a Toy Story or Pixar meal. How about OHana breakfast? My tomboy loved that one.

I too have purchased those tickets on site. I figure I don't want to go if it is sold out and if I wait until I'm there then I can check the weather before I make the purchase. If you buy them the day before you still get the prepurchase price.

Thanks for the advice on the MNSSHP. I think we'll wait, especially if you can get the pre-purchase price a day in advance... didn't even occur to me to wonder what the weather would be like. (We had glorious sun our entire trip last Sept but I think we kinda lucked out )

Oh yeah! Our kiddo adored Ohana. She didn't even know who Stitch and Lilo were when we went as I originally booked it so she could see Mickey -- then afterward, that's all she wanted to watch on TV. Total Stitch fanatic now. Not planning on doing it this time in lieu of learning about Stitch being at the MNSSHP. Only doing one character breakfast actually, at Cape May. Hope I don't regret booking only one!

The wonderful IPO's at AKL got us ALL of the dinner reservations that we wanted i am so happy it is our wedding anniversary and we get to eat at Cinderellas Royal Table:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

I am working my way through this thread and thought I would throw this question out...Can the IPO be helpful with room requests?

I was feeling pretty comfortable with my ressie at Beach Club CL GV for family of five. I was reading the Beach Club thread and some discussion surfaced about families of 5 not getting a room with a daybed and having to jam a rollaway into a CL room which did not accommodate it very well. Before reading several posts confirming this, I had thought the families of 5 were guaranteed a daybed but I guess that is not the case.

Just wondering if the IPO could be of any help? This is our first time staying onsite so I am not quiet sure of the breadth of service that the IPO offers.

We will be staying at the Yacht Club CL this summer and last Monday recieved the email from the IPO to fill out all the necc. information (flight number, arrival time etc.) We also filled out a special (last minute) ADR request for Rose and Crown one evening. They haven't responded yet (I'm sure this is probably because the request isn't an easy one! R&C fills up fast!). We have stayed at other resorts CL and the IPO responded quickly. I'm sure they are probably busy and I'm not complaining (at all!! :hippie:) but just wondering what I should do next, just wait or send them a friendly email or phone call? I don't want to be nagging or bothering them lololol. Thanks in advance!! :goodvibes

Did you get the autoreply? If not, check your spam folder for both the autoreply (and perhaps their response). I have found this IPO office to be incredibly quick in their responses. If the spam folder is empty, I would send them a quick note about the ADR. And don't forget to add their email address to your contacts!

207 days until my 1st ever CL stay:banana: I am a DVC member, and we're spending the 1st 3 nights of our stay @ AKLV CL level. Even though I'm DVC, I should still receive something from IPO about 6 months out, correct? We're only in CL for 3 nights, I'm not even sure right now what I'm going to want IPO to book for me:confused3 If finances allow we want to to Wanyama on the day we arrive, other than that I'm just not sure right now.

Didn't think about that! Thank you very much! I'll check it out now:cheer2:

Jen,

You know we never heard from IPO, until I sent them an email, something about booking thru DVC does not show up in the reservations list. I would send them an email, list you names, dates and confirmation number.

Just to make sure that they know you are coming.

Even if you don't use them at least email so they have a way to contact you if need be.

We are staying BC CL, and they use the same IPO as Yacht Club. I have contacted them a couple times and got the auto-reply within seconds and usually a reply from a person within 24 hours or less. We actually requested Tusker House Breakfast ressies last minute for my daughters b-day in June. Online said every single day of our trip the breakfast was filled. They were able to find us one the exact day we wanted at a great time too!! They have been wonderful to work with!

Stayed Poly CL last year never heard from them until I emailed them. This yr they emailed me about two weeks before my 180..They were amazing got me everything I wanted within 15 min of my requested times..
