Hi everyone! :goodvibes

I have been posting here and there on the boards since January (a few days after getting engaged and decided Disney was the place)... but really hadn't had the chance to start my own PJ... I am home sick today SO I figured -what the heck- why not start?! LOL

First things first I guess...

* How we met- Jose and I met Freshman year of HS. We were in the same homeroom and started talking during a group project... he was a slacker and I spoke my mind so needless to say it wasn't really love at first sight for us. LOL. He really just began to poke fun at me (I guess his immature way of telling me he liked me) BUT transferred out of the school a few weeks later. He ended up going to the school that all of my cousins went to, and how fate will have it became best of friends with my cousin (male). We started hanging out A LOT summer before Junior year, and were officially a couple when homecoming came around... and it must be mentioned that homecoming game was between both of our highschools, and WE won. :woohoo:

* The proposal- We usually go to Orlando for the holidays, and this year it was no different. I really wouldn't have expected it since he had mentioned he never really wanted to get married (he said a paper didn't mean he loved me more WHATEVERR) BUT he had been making really strange comments and that made me suspicious... turns out I was still surprised when he did whip that baby out! Oh, it was in Epcot on New Years... when the clock stroke midnight. Not too creative, but beautiful nonetheless. :lovestruc

* Why Disney- Our first vacation together was to Disney, and as annual passholders we go very often. We love it, so why not? I also pushed for it because we would of had to invite TOO many people to a wedding closer to home, eventhough we still ended up with an 80 person guest list!!!

* Location/Ceremony/Theme- Originally we wanted Morocco, since we had dinner there the night we got engaged and I absolutely love Aladdin... but after finding out how complicated it would actually be for us, we decided to go for SBP. I really liked it, and felt like it was more "us" and I liked the idea of using ADH even more. I started doing some research and found the cutest vintage carnival themed wedding pics that I fell in love with, I knew that is what I wanted.

So we are officially having a -vintage carnival- themed wedding at SBP at 10:00am following by our reception at ADH! :)

Welcome, and congratulations!! I think your proposal story is really sweet. And I love the Carnival themed wedding! Those pictures are too cute. Any idea what colors you are considering yet? I think you have a lot of options for colors that go with a Carnival theme!

Thank you!!

I am going with teal & red. Same colors in my inspiration pics. LOL. I feel bad for them, I am taking all of their great ideas. :lmao:

Gorgeous dress! I love the style of it, it's unique and looks wonderful on you! Are you going with that headpiece that you're wearing in the picture?

Hi!!! :wave2:

I LOVE your inspiration pictures!! What an awesome theme!! :)

Your engagement pictures are gorgeous!! I love your pin-up girl/vintage style and your dress is perfect and reflective of your style for sure!! :goodvibes

Can't wait to read all of your plans!!!!

Thanks!!!

Library geek- No, I am not wearing that one exactly. They didn't have the one I ordered in stock. That one is a litle bulky for my liking and the fact that they didnt position it right, it made it look funky. It is similar though, but smaller.

Sw33t_angel- Thank you!!!!!!!

Love your e-pics! I really love your style! Looking forward to following along. popcorn::

You guys are adorable!!! Love your pics!!

And your dress is gorgeous!!

Love the theme! It's going to be beautiful!!!

You and your fiance are so adorable!!! I LOVE the style of your engagement pics! Can't wait to keep reading! :goodvibes

I feel like I am all over the place since I started doing wedding things before actually starting my PJ... I forgot to post a few things. :rotfl:

Ring: How could I have possibly forgetten the ring?!?

Wedding colors: We are going with a tealish/blue color, red and hints of cotton candy pink. I know they seem a bit odd, but I loved how they came together in my inspiration pics, somehow they work! I added my rendition on paint below... :)

Also, thanks to the boards I got the marvelous idea of sending out a newsletter (really, I have to give you ladies ALL the credit because the idea had not crossed my mind)... I created it on word & I was very pleased. I think it really fit our theme nicely... we sent them out (and by we I mean me of course :rotfl: in red envelopes I found at Office Depot at 6$ for 50 of them. Please excuse the crappy picture though, I had forgotten to take one and had to take it of an already folded one with my cell. Anyways, here it is-

I am working on the next "edition" to send out! :goodvibes

While I am at it, I have also accomplished a lot with my bridesmaids!

I sent them "will you be my bridesmaid cards" (also a dis boards idea :rolleyes1) which I got on Etsy...

IMAG0001.jpg

They were a big hit!!! I started off with 6 girls, and at the last minute decided to add another girl (my cousins long term gf, who after 7 years has grown on me), DF really wanted to add one of his good friends too so it made sense. HOWEVER, one of my original girls, I had had a falling out with and was starting to make a mends... I really wanted her to be a bridesmaid because before the issue we were very, very close... I figured I was going to forget the whole thing and give our friendship another chance... she seemed so happy when she got her card in the mail, but has been seeming very un-interested since then.. :confused3 I set up an appt. to go bm dress hunting and she was planning to go to Disney that weekend, so of course I was happy for her and told her she can go with me another day (since all of the other girls had already rearranged their schedules for that day) turns out the week of she cancels her trip and thrilled I told her "great, so you can come Saturday?" only to get a response of "Lol I guess, if I don't find anything better to do". THAT HURT! I didn't bother texting her or calling and she never showed up! She text me at 4:00pm (when the appt was for 12:00pm) saying she overslept because she was partying the whole night... and didn't even mention rescheduling. I feel like I don't really want her to be a part of the wedding party anymore... but am unsure if I should give her another chance? Especially since DF has 7 groomsmen! :sad2:

But enough about that I am already starting to feel flustered, here is a pic of my 6 girls who DID show up...

I had originally told them to choose their own dresses, but they all chose the same one (don't pay any mind to the colors, that is what they had available in their sizes) it will be the tealish/ blue color which David's Bridal refers to as Malibu. Oh, and the girl in the middle with the rouched (sp?) skirt is my MOH.. she wanted to look a little different, which was fine by me so we went with a similar style with a diff. skirt.

Hey,

Congratulations on the engagement! So far everything looks brillaint! and all of your photos are beautiful, you are gorgeous! :flower3:

The carnival idea is lovely (Your inspiration board) and I especially like the save the date you sent out! Very creative! Heres and idea for a favour that you might like... well... its was from a magazine here in the uk, but I will try and explain it well - It was a lottery ticket inside kind of like a little brown open top folder - and on the front in carnival style type - FOR RICHER FOR POORER! I thought it was a fab idea! Might be good for you

Your dress is absolutly beautiful! Really suits you! The detail on the back is lovely too! What kind of bouquet would you have? So it doesnt cover you up on the front? :confused3

The bridesmaid dresses are cute too, are you going to have them all in the same colour... you could choose a different colour for the MOH? If I had more birdesmaids I would have done the same- But my 2 will be wearing the same dress and colour! ;)

Any way... Im blabbing now! Looking forward to seeing more! When in 2012 are you getting married!?

Hi, just wanted to stop by and say congratulations! Love your theme and colours! I think it will look fab! Your engagement photos are lovely too. Look forward to hearing more :goodvibes
Oh and thanks for posting in my PJ too! :)

I love the bridesmaid dresses! My MOH and I actually tried on that dress when we went looking for our bridesmaid dresses, and this was our second choice dress after the one we actually ended up going with. It's really cute, and I love that the dress has pockets! ;)

But that's a shame to hear about your friend that is being pretty lame about this whole thing. Maybe you should have a talk with her - you could try and make it a bit more casual and not too accusatory, just say something along the lines of, "Are you sure you wanted to be a part of the wedding? Because I don't want it to be a hassle for you, but there are certain things that do need to get done (like trying on the dress). If you don't want to be involved it's okay, just let me know." I don't know, it's a really hard situation to be in. Good luck with whatever happens!

I LOVE your inspiration.. the colors are fabulous! And the carnival theme is AWESOME.

Your engagement shoot looks gorgeous! You look like a pin up! Stunning!!

Can't wait to see how it all turns out!

:lovestruc thank you so much!!!!! The idea of the lotto ticket is awesome! I think I will def be using it!!! I am so excited just thinking about it.

Good question about the bouquet.... :confused3
I have no clue what flowers I want to use. Right now I am liking the gerber daisy in red for my girls who will be in the teal color dresses. But I'm not sure, I have to put my thinking cap on. Moh will be in teal too, but the skirt of her dress is a little different to differentiate her.

& the wedding will be June 24th. :)
