The Most Magical Time of Year in the Most Magical Place on Earth! Nov. 2010 NEW 4/5!

POR looks absolutely lovely! I've always dismissed that resort as not being my style, mostly because I really don't like the blue building and red wheel picture and it's the one they always use to portray it:

But the rest of your pictures of the resort show a much more prettier side to it. I especially love this picture!

Love your photos of POR!

I've never visited that resort but it looks amazing! :goodvibes

I've never been to Sci Fi.. looking forward to reading what you guys thought :)

Emma princess: x

POR really is beautiful. It's definitely worth a visit sometime. :thumbsup2

I can't wait to share my Sci-Fi experience! I guess since I have an ADR there for our disneymoon it isn't too much of a surprise of what we thought. ;)

POR definitely has two sides. The alligator bayou side, which I guess would kind of go along with the picture of Riverside Mill isn't my style at all. I know a lot of people prefer that side of the resort, but I like the mansion section so much more. It's so picturesque! I will say, though, French Quarter is still my favorite Port Orleans resort! ;)

We have not - I think we would really like it though. I've heard it's a lot of fun!

Yes, way to many shows! :sad2: The cupcake was so good - it's huge!

I feel like I'm constantly going back and forth there, and standing around just trying to figure out what to do! :sad2:

I wish there were more attractions there. I used to love DHS when I was a kid (as MGM). I wish I felt the same now. :sad1:

yes i have done it everytime i have been there and it is always a bunch of fun!!!! you would love it.

Beautiful pictures of POR! :goodvibes The last time I stayed there was back in 1997 when it was still Dixie Landings! I'd love to go back though at some point in the future. I hope you had a good experience at Sci-Fi... I absolutely loved it the last time I was there! :thumbsup2

We definitely need to give HDDR a shot - I bet it would make for a really fun evening!

Thank you! I will always think of POR as Dixie Landings. That's what it was every other time I went there as a kid. It's a beautiful resort! :cloud9:

I can't believe you still didn't get to go on RnRC!

Great pictures of POR, it's a really beautiful resort! We didn't get to go in the main pool, just the quiet pool outside of our room. It's too bad, it looks like it would have been fun!

Can't wait to see what you thought of Sci Fi! :)

The main pool was a lot of fun. It probably would have been even better if it was warm!

DAY 4 - Pt. 4

After waiting about 30 minutes at Sci-Fi, our name was finally called! There was a lot of anticipation walking into the dining area, and it did not disappoint! We found it to be so neat!

Apparently, so did a lot of other people. We were sitting right near the entrance of the area, and whenever people would walk in for the first time, they would comment on how cool it was – it definitely made for a fun evening experiencing everyone’s excitement!

We were seated as “hitchhikers” behind a family and had a wonderful waitress – Sarah! She was from Australia, I believe, and was absolutely lovely!

Since we were so hungry, we decided to go for an appetizer- something we don’t normally do. We chose the double dip for two, which has spinach & artichoke dip and chili.

This was soooo good! The spinach dip was the favorite for both of us but the chili was delicious as well. It had a kind of different flavor to it (curry maybe?) but it was really nice! We would both definitely get it again.

Up next were our entrees. I of course had to go with the famous cheeseburgers. Oh my goodness, this was amazing! I know I’ve read that some people aren’t impressed, so maybe it depends on the day. We must have been there on a really good day because I can honestly say that was one of the best cheeseburgers of my life.

And speaking of best meals, Miguel agreed about his sandwich as well! He got the Italian Chicken sandwich and said it was one of the best chicken sandwiches he had ever eaten!

We loved our meal at Sci-Fi. Everything about the dinner was just perfect – the atmosphere, the food, and our wonderful waitress. We are returning on the disneymoon and we cannot wait!

As soon as we left the restaurant, we rounded the corner to go experience the Osborne Lights. If you are looking for a good place for an ADR either before or after the lights, Sci-Fi is it! I had no idea how close it was. It was very convenient.

Walking up to the lights is kind of indescribable. It’s like all at once you’re just hit by this massive amount of lights. It’s hard to know where to focus! Everything was so beautiful and the snow falling made it even better!

One of the things I had really wanted to do while seeing the lights was get a PP picture to use as a Christmas card photo. Unfortunately, the line was a mile long! We decided not to wait and I did my best to get one of us together.

Ok, but not Christmas card worthy!

Once we had enough of the lights, we wondered over to Pixar Place to use are TSM FP’s from earlier in the day. We were so excited to ride again, and this time I won!

Finally, it was time to face the music – literally. It was on to RnRC!

There would be nothing getting in my way this time. The ride was fully functioning and we were on our way. It moved pretty quickly, which is probably a good thing because before I knew it we were getting briefed by Aerosmith, and I was freaking out!

If I had had any longer to wait, I might have chickend out, but I am happy to report that I did it! And here’s what I thought about it…

That is what I like to call the look of pure torture. I hated it! The whole time I was screaming, and not in a good way! Of course, Miguel thought it was hilarious and laughed the whole time.

When I got off the ride, I felt like I couldn’t even walk straight and I swore I would never do that again. Months later, I might have changed my mind! I think that now that I know what to expect, it wouldn’t be so bad. So who knows, maybe I’ll give RnRC another try on the disneymoon.

We decided to make our way towards the front of the park, but we did stop in one of the shops on the way to do some browsing. We ended up resorting to one of our favorite Disney pastimes – trying on hats!

Finally, it was time to head back to POR after what had been a wonderful night. I am so glad that the evening turned out the way it did, because it really changed my mind about DHS. I feel like the park has a completely different atmosphere at night, and I’ve decided I really like it. I’m actually looking forward to going back on our honeymoon. This was definitely a magical evening, and one I won’t forget!

Up next I will finally get to our last day. There’s some disappointment ahead, too. :sad2:

I have to agree with you, when I ate at the Sci-Fi my last trip, it was one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had.

They sat us in almost the same car you were in, and I couldn't agree that it was a little weird being so close to all of the hustle and bustle coming in and out.

I'm so glad you guys had a great dinner/night! I feel like some people who fault Disney food a lot are expecting too much.

DHS is one of my favorite parks!!! I love the shops and the shows and being there during the day and at night are two different experiences :) It is great!!!

Glad to hear you made it onto RnRC!!! It is a fun coaster, but not one of my favorites.

I have been wondering if SciFi would be yummy and fun place to dine, and I now know that it is!!!! That burger looked so delicious!!!!!

What a great update! You can tell that you had such an amazing time!!

I also completely agree with you in regards to DHS at night. Day time = no thank you. Nighttime = awesome. The lights and atmosphere just make it feel like a completely different park!

I'm so glad you two had a great time at Sci-Fi... I'm obsessed with the place! :rotfl: The atmosphere is just incredible. Happy to hear you had such a great night at DHS and I can't believe you finally went on RnRc!!! GOOD FOR YOU!!! :thumbsup2

Glad you guys loved Sci Fi! I liked it too, but not quite as much as you guys! You didn't try the milkshakes? They're were SO good! :cool1: I love the pictures you guys got there, I wish we thought to do that!

Aren't the Osborne lights amazing? I really want to see them again this year! The PP lines are crazy over there!

Yay you finally went on RnRC! I hope you try it again, maybe you will like it a little better! It's one of my favorites! Now, when you hear an Aerosmith song on the radio, are you reminded of Disney? I love that!

Can't believe we're both coming up on the last day of our trips! :(

I am LOLing about your RnRC picture!!!! :lmao: Miguel looks as though he is getting a little too much enjoyment out of your misery. :rotfl: Although, my DH would be the exact same way! Oh man! Poor Courtney!

Sci-Fi was great wasn't it? We thought it was too awesome!
I would love to go to DHS during Christmas time & see all of those lights. Too bad you didn't get a picture for your Christmas card.
Your RNRC picture was hilarious, you look scared to death!
