Natalie & Phil's Oct 25th Wishes Wedding TR: Vendor reviews at last!! :)

Totally forgot this in my last rambling post! We're going back and forth between a Buffet and sit down meal. What did/are you doing and what are your reasons? There will be about 25 of us tops, any advice/thoughts what you think will suit our relatively small group best?

Thanks again! Nat x

Thats great that you've got your flights and hotel all booked! :thumbsup2 And I think it'll be really nice to fly out in a big group!! :) Sounds like you're on a bit of a roll! DF was going to leave getting his suit until we flew over too but luckily he's now sorted it all out with Carolyn Allens so thats one less worry!

Im so jealous you're having an MK shoot...I really want one but DF said no!

When it comes to dinner...we picked a buffet but we had no choice as that's what we had to have as we're going to be at Ariels...I think a buffet is a little more casual than a sit down meal so I guess it kind of depends how formal you want to be?

I was the same way about the MK shoot and having my hair done! I hate paying twice (we were originally going to do the MK shoot the morning of our VR, but Disney rescheduled us :rolleyes1 ) but my hair is hopeless in Florida, so I need a professional, LOL! I have super-sensitive skin so I'm going to do my own makeup (but will practice LOTS beforehand!). I'm also using Beaute Speciale. :thumbsup2

For buffet vs. plated ... our group is about the same size as yours. We are doing a brunch buffet because we are all picky eaters and I didn't want to restrict everyone to just a couple of choices. This way they can choose whatever their hearts desire and eat as much (or as little) as they like.

I know a lot of people don't like buffets, but for picky eaters, I think they are the way to go! :thumbsup2 Plus, they tend to be less expensive than plated meals.

Thanks girls! We've been discussing it tonight and I think you are right about buffets. A friend of mine is bringing her two teenagers and both have severe nut allergies, so i'm thinking a buffet may be a good way of dealing with this? Also, we have four children under eight in our party, (Phil's niece and nephew and his best man has two kids) so perhaps a less formal option may be best for them.

PS: Amy, did you get rescheduled because of the new 7.30am time slots?

So I finally made it over to check out your pj! Everything sounds great, we just need some pics now! lol I don't know if you have cruised with Royal Caribbean before, but I have and it was an amazing 7 days - so you guys are going to have a great time!

I will also give you my comment on the buffet vs. plated thing. Originally, we were having a lunch, and I was NOT going to have a buffet. It is a wedding, there is no way I was having a buffet…. But then I got to thinking… We changed our location, and changed to a brunch - I am a very picky eater with food allergies, and Disney's breakfast foods are my favourite foods on this earth. So the entire feel of our wedding went a bit more casual, and I know that I hate going to a wedding (or other event) when I get a hunk of meat (I am 99% vegetarian - just because I don't like meat) and a bit of potatoes and veggies. I would rather get food myself so I can skip the meat and load up on veggies. So to end this rather long story, I will say that a buffet worked wonderfully for our wedding, and we were happy with everything. But if you are having a super formal dinner meal, I am more prone to plated meals - Disney does do some wonderful things for people with dietary restrictions. Hopefully this rambling makes sense and helps you out a little with your decision.

Personally, I think the way you go between Plated or Buffet will really direct how you want the reception to be. I think that buffets are more relaxed and almost encourage mixing, mingling, getting up and stuff. While Plated encourages a more formal event. The buffet will probably give you more time for dancing and stuff as everyone isnt waiting for the next course or waiting for someone else to finish and the dancefloor to "open up". Buffets are generally less expensive as well, but you could always work with catering to come up with something plated thats about the same cost as a buffet. Either way I think theyre both great! Really it just depends on the overall feel youre going for at your reception. Im having a tough choice deciding between the two myself, and really didnt think about timing until I started this. (So thanks for sparking my thoughts!) Let us know what you decide!! :thumbsup2

Hi to a UK bride!

Hi everyone, sorry for being a bad bride and not updating for ages!!! :worship: Work has been so so sooooooo busy lately and we also had a bit of a disaster at home last week... long story short: Came home to a leak from our ensuite which has resulted in a hole in the hallway ceiling! :scared1:

But back to wedding news! I have now booked a videographer! :woohoo: We went back and forth, do we want one/don't we want one and eventually we came to the conclusion that it was a good idea, being as we are from the UK and not everyone we would like to be there can make it. We have booked Trinity Wedding Video. They came recommended by our photographer, Jason Angelini. They have worked together many times, which I thought was great as they will know each others styles etc. So far they have been lovely to deal with, repsonding to emails really quickly and working out a package for us. :) So that's another thing to tick off the list! Yay!

And last but not least I have finally got round to posting some photos!!!

Look forward to hearing more of your plans.
