Most Expensive / Moist Exhausting Continued - Final thoughts and wrap-up

I know it's been like 2 pages since I've piped in over here, so just making sure you know I'm still reading along. As for that "architecture"... er, um, well, er, that's quite impressive!

Day 7 - Part 6

First, I promised to give you the Epcot pay phone numbers I jotted down. They are:

Thank You!

Let’s see…where’d we leave off last time? Oh yes, Marlene had completed her mission to purchase a beret and we were hanging out in France hoping to catch Serveur Amusant. Well, we waited past the 12:45 time that my pre-trip planning said he was due to perform, but he never showed.

Maybe if it's wet they have fewer showings due to safety concerns?

Oh my gosh, I can’t believe how hot and sweaty I look in that picture. I look like I’m about to collapse. Did I tell you that it was realllly hot and humid on this trip?

I have a few pictures of me two weeks earlier in WS that look very similar.

Okay, with the nice and innocent picture out of the way, and our company in the Fez House gone, it was time! I handed my camera off to Marlene and turned to the fountain. She looked through the viewfinder and exclaimed, “DAD!” After her initial shock, she dutifully but reluctantly played along.

It is our duty as parents to scar our children.

If I haven’t already destroyed your opinion of me with that picture, go back and read my title for this chapter about five times fast, and that oughtta do it. ;)

Then I looked at the Epcot entertainment times listing I had (remember from my pre-trip report that I shrank these down to nearly microfiche-size and carried them in my wallet) and noticed that we could catch Voices of Liberty at 1:15 if we hurried. So, we booked it over to the American Pavilion and grabbed some floor.

It's cool you got to see them. Missed out on our trip but we thought our little ones were getting a bit antsy to sit through it.

The last song they sang was “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and they featured one of the male singers.

Ahhh. I had to sing that in state male ensemble. A toughie accapella. So tough for us high school students that we messed it up in front of 700 people or so.

I asked Marlene if she wanted to meet Mulan, but she didn’t. I guess she’s gotten too old for that kind of thing. <sniff>

It comes and goes. There are many examples in trip reports here of older teens getting excited to see characters.

“There she was just a-walkin’ down the street, singin’…”

(Good luck getting that out of your head now!)

Another song we sang in high school...thanks.

Marlene liked this guy in a display on the wall and struck his pose.

I love impromptu poses! Marlene really seems to be enjoying your company during this part of the trip.

I said that she needed to look meaner, and it looked like I needed to use the flash, so we tried again. Here’s her mean face.

IMG_3759.jpg

Maybe you should have said evil grin?

We stepped out of the temple and I took a picture of the scenery.

It's so very pretty around China. We spent the most time visiting that area between Norway and China on our trip.

I’m beginning to realize how quickly the time goes as I watch my children grow, and I hope that when they’re older they’ll look fondly back at moments like these.
....I know I will.

:sad1:

There's a new rule in the universe that states that evey time I blink glennbo123 posts 3 new chapters and there are 10 more pages in his report :lmao:

Fantatic Dis-meet (hi hucifer!), very cool place!

Sir... this is the picture the internet was invented for! :rotfl:

this is true, it takes a special breed to do something like that.
:sad2:

Yeah, "special breed" is a good way to put it.

no, to big and bulky, we were talking about the laptop right.
:rolleyes1

I was talking about a laptop, were you?

never seen it, might have to check it out at the library next trip.
:)

Are you talking about an actual public library, or do you call the bathroom "the library"?

Ever consider a dictionary??? :confused3 Just askin'! :rolleyes1

I figure it's got all of the other books in it. ::yes::

Great update G-Dawg!

Love the photo re-creations.

Thanks GB!

Coming out of lurkdom to let you know how much I am enjoying your report!

Hi palofeeyore and :welcome: !! Thanks for letting me know you're reading, I appreciate it.

By the way, it took me a few seconds to get your screen name. I was reading it as "pay" "low" "fee" "yore".

:rotfl2:

Something about a library book being the bathroom book :scared:

But on the bright side, if you can't find it in the stacks, you know where to look!

I know it's been like 2 pages since I've piped in over here, so just making sure you know I'm still reading along. As for that "architecture"... er, um, well, er, that's quite impressive!

And to think that Pat, of all people, was the one who brought that subject into the conversation. :sad2:

Maybe if it's wet they have fewer showings due to safety concerns?

I don't think it had started getting rainy yet, but my memory of the weather around that point in time is a little sketchy. You could be right.

I have a few pictures of me two weeks earlier in WS that look very similar.

Oh yeah? All hunky and buff?

It is our duty as parents to scar our children.

Private Glennbo reporting for duty.

Fortunately, I know that a facepalm pic from you is high praise!

It's cool you got to see them. Missed out on our trip but we thought our little ones were getting a bit antsy to sit through it.

That was probably a wise move. The acoustics in there great for the singers, but probably also for antsy kids.

Ahhh. I had to sing that in state male ensemble. A toughie accapella. So tough for us high school students that we messed it up in front of 700 people or so.

Hmmm, after that, maybe you will walk alone.

Another song we sang in high school...thanks.

In ensemble, or just goofing around?

I love impromptu poses! Marlene really seems to be enjoying your company during this part of the trip.

Maybe you should have said evil grin?

Well of course she was.

Maybe I should have said something different. "Evil"..."maniacal"..."pouty"....."surly teen".

It's so very pretty around China. We spent the most time visiting that area between Norway and China on our trip.

We still have more to explore there.

whut wood i nead 1 of thoose 4

:rotfl2:

every book is a bathroom book.
:lmao:

Have you ever read Chuck Norris' autobiography? It's called The Guiness Book of World Records.

He'd buy one if he ever ran across a "dickshunairy".

No more blinking -- better start propping your eyelids open with toothpicks.

I'm sure this is what the inventors (Al Gore?) were thinking of. Doesn't it seem like every great invention is like a double-edged sword, with the power to better mankind....or lead to the downfall of civilization? Which is this an example of?

Just wanted to say "Hi!" Been reading your TR for awhile... just found it a few days ago and i'm all caught up now.

Great update, Glen. I love the pictures of you and your daughter in Morocco.

I am so glad you got to hear Voices of Liberty -- we missed them this last trip for the first time ever and I was so upset; you can be sure we won't miss them this trip. Sorry the memory card ran out just as the finale was coming up.

And I've jotted down that phone booth number in UK...I think I'll play a little trick on the old hubby. ;)

I don't think it had started getting rainy yet, but my memory of the weather around that point in time is a little sketchy. You could be right.

Well don't you know? I thought you heard? Well, everybody knows that the bird is the word! Papa-ooma-mow-mow, papa-ooma-mow-mow!

Revenge!

Oh yeah? All hunky and buff?

That wasn't EXACTLY what I was thinking but who am I to argue?

Hmmm, after that, maybe you will walk alone.

Now look who is on a role!

In ensemble, or just goofing around?

In ensemble. We didn't have to sing the whole thing since it was part of a compilation of 50's and 60's songs. Love Potion Number 9, Goodnight Sweetheart Goodnight, Sixteen Candles...you get the idea.

Marlene looks great in her beret! :thumbsup2

"You're in Morocco." :rotfl: It took me a minute and I probably had to say it 10 times fast as opposed to 5, but I finally got it. :rolleyes1

nope the city library
;)

the bathroom is called "the study"

I knew it had to be something like that.

Just wanted to say "Hi!" Been reading your TR for awhile... just found it a few days ago and i'm all caught up now.

Hi BMC423 (Bickiana)! :welcome: to my TR! Thanks for reading, and I'm glad you've caught up. Wow, that's a lot of reading.

Great update, Glen. I love the pictures of you and your daughter in Morocco.

Thanks! I like them too. :)

First time I've ever heard them, but I don't think it will be the last. I can sense the determination in your post, so I'm sure you'll see them.

And I've jotted down that phone booth number in UK...I think I'll play a little trick on the old hubby. ;)

Well don't you know? I thought you heard? Well, everybody knows that the bird is the word! Papa-ooma-mow-mow, papa-ooma-mow-mow!

Revenge!

:rotfl2: At first I was like "What?" That's not a response to what I wrote!?

Oh, and........

You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille. With four hungry children and a crop in the field...

That wasn't EXACTLY what I was thinking but who am I to argue?

I didn't think I'd get an argument from you.

Now look who is on a role!

:woohoo:

In ensemble. We didn't have to sing the whole thing since it was part of a compilation of 50's and 60's songs. Love Potion Number 9, Goodnight Sweetheart Goodnight, Sixteen Candles...you get the idea.

Gotcha.

Marlene looks great in her beret! :thumbsup2

"You're in Morocco." :rotfl: It took me a minute and I probably had to say it 10 times fast as opposed to 5, but I finally got it. :rolleyes1

Thanks, I'll tell her.

Oh good. It was a perfect title then -- it didn't stand out as unusual when it was pre-announced, and took a small amount of effort and a little guidance in the right direction to get it later.
