This is what I wished the resorts would do! Have 3 sets of mugs from my last 4 visits. All are different but would be nice to be able to reuse for a smaller fee. More environmentally friendly too!

Agreed. Our mugs from two trips ago are in the Goodwill box in anticipation of more mugs in January. It's probably silly to even keep the most recent set - we have so many travel mugs as it is - but we'll probably save them at least until we bring back brand-new fresh ones.

No. As early as 1997, we bought mugs at the Polynesian and signs posted by the mugs said they were only good for the trip they were purchased. I think they only started putting the wording on the mugs in the past few years.

Were were there in early December and still the old mugs. However, the ones with the black lids were scarce (only saw one or two of them on the shelf only once the whole week in CC's) Maybe this means stock is starting to run down? Hopefully? It's definitely time to change things up a bit!

When I was at WDW last month from the 9th - 23rd they still had the ones and there have been no reports of any new mugs. Plus the resort counter service locations need to sell out of the current mugs before they can sell a new design.

What do the Vero Beach mugs look like? Are they the same or do they have resort specific ones there? We went to Hilton Head in 2009 and got ones that were just for Hilton Head then. They are really cute!

I went to Vero last February and they were the same ones that they sold in the other resorts throughout the world. However, several years back when I went to Vero (and it has been several), they had Vero dedicated mugs. They were GREAT! I ended up using it and washing it so often, the design wore off!

If you purchased mugs at the Water Parks you can always purchase a new sticker for $5.00 which means you can use them each time you go back to Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon, however this is not happening at any of the resort counter service locations that sell the mugs.

I didnt know you could do that - we have a couple of mugs from about 3 years ago for one of the water parks - forget which one now - have to hunt them out.

Have to agree with previous posters - wish they would do that for the resort mugs - have so many of them now! At Universal, we still take our mug (Spongebob) and it's then only a couple of dollars for the 'barcode' so you can use them that day - only problem is that their mugs are more bulky and nore difficult to carry around (and pack) than the Disney mugs

I believe it was sometime in 2002 that the resort counter service locations were testing out the bar code system like at the water parks, however for whatever reason it didn't work out. So that's why we won't see them using that method at them.

Last I heard they were starting to run out of some colors at a few resorts...but who knows what that means.....I'd really love to see a new mug !
