What a beautiful night, I like it!
It looks to me like the steel they have up in that back corner is just for the Be Our Guest restaurant. The area with Gaston's Tavern will take up all of the space between Be Our Guest and The Little Mermaid. This is the area we're looking at:
Ignore Cinderella's chateau in the foreground. That's where the Mine Coaster will be and Dumbo would need to be out of the way before they could start construction on that.
Yup! It's sad that a lot of people only know her as Sleeping Beauty and not Aurora or Briar Rose.
Her and Jasmine have always been my favorite true princesses. (By true, I mean princesses who are real princesses. Not those who are just called princesses when they aren't a real princess) I'm a fan of the more "unpopular" characters. Like, I like Daisy more than Minnie. I've always been that way.
I know! It makes me sad when people think it's Cinderella's castle!

In which park??? It's Cindy's Castle in FL, Sleeping Beauty Castle at DLR...I know! It makes me sad when people think it's Cinderella's castle!

Yep and not just Aurora and Sleeping Beauty, she also goes by Briar Rose.
She's always been my girl's favorite. And you know, it is her castle that appears at beginning of every Disney movie...not Cindy's......
Last time we went to CRT, we asked her if she preferred Aurora or Briar Rose. She said Briar Rose, as it's the name she grew up with.
We should be DISboard bffs! I love Aurora and Daisy too! Daisy stuffed animals are so sad and scary looking it makes me sad!
Yeah...especially Mulan...at least the others like Cinderella and Belle became princesses by marriage....Mulan married a soldier.
btw - I like Mulan, she's cool.
I love that other people are suggesting a Sleeping Beauty-themed ride.
Personally, I would like to see a first-person dark ride based on Prince Phillip's escape from Melificent's castle, hacking through the thorns and then fighting Melificent as the dragon. A ride system similar to the Spider-Man ride at Universal with both practical and 3-D effects could make this happen on an amazing level! Flora, Fauna, and Merriwether would basically tell the story and would show up to tell you what to do. An enormous 3-D video screen could produce a huge and exciting dragon in the ride's climax!
I know this ride might be a bit intense for younger kids, but it would definitely draw ride junkies.
Maybe it could go in the spot where they were planning to put Pixie Hollow and the facade could be made to look like Melificent's castle. This would add a visual inclusion of the horror aspect that is a part of any good fairy tale to a land that is fairy tale-themed. It would also give a visual cue to parents that this ride is not necessarily good for smaller kids.
I know they probably wouldn't do a ride like this at WDW, but a guy can dream, can't he?
Not taking anything away from Briar Rose, I think the castle logo at the start of Disney movies is actually a made-up combination of both the Cinderella & Sleeping Beauty castles.
That is so in-character of her! I love that answer!
We totally should be! Aurora and Daisy are the best! I'm hoping my boyfriend gets me the Daisy (the one at the Disney Store now actually looks good!) and Aurora plush along with the Aurora and Philip barbie dolls.
Yeah. Mulan is technically not a princess because she married a general and not a prince, but she is still cool! Pocahontas is not exactly a princess because she is not the daughter of a king and queen, but she technically is because she is the daughter of a tribe's chief.

The General/Captain Li Shang is also a prince, so That sort of does make Mulan a Princess for being married to Li Shang.

Mulan is the only Disney Princess on the official list that is not of royal heritage. Mulan is a young woman of rural Chinese roots. She doesn't marry a prince, as she marries Le Shang. However the Emperor of China bestowed upon her his royal crest, thereby making her an honorary "Princess of China".
As the PP commented, the following are princesses by birth:
Snow White
Aurora
Jasmine
Ariel
The following marry into royalty:
Cinderella
Tiana
The following are not technically princesses, but Disney has included them in the Princess marketing plan so they are recognized as princesses:
Belle (she and Beast never technically marry, but it is assumed)
Pocahontas
Mulan
That completes Disney's 9 person princess line.
When Tangled was up and coming, Disney said they would not put Rapunzel into the Princess Line immediately, in fear that Tangled would be labeled another "Princess Movie." However, Rapunzel will be added to the line in the near future.
Alice, Wendy, and Mary Poppins are not part of the official Princess Line, but Alice was included as a princess in the Kingdom Hearts game. Alice and Mary Poppins also appear at "Princess Meals" at Walt Disney World, although not regularly.
