The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Whew! I'm worn out just reading all that! Glad you made it to the conference. I, too, want to know about the beignets.

P.S. Love the new avatar!

Yum! ::yes::

A thing of beauty! :thumbsup2

Too bad you didn't find this path. You could have taken that beautiful, peaceful walk along the river. It's a short walk and so tranquil.

Those things are so good!

OMGosh, Pat~ Mega update~ I was never sure if you were going to make it ANYWHERE the whole time!! Like you, I hate to be late, so I'd have been stressed thinking I was going to get a big spanking at 8:00 when I showed up!! :scared1: Sooooooooo.... were the beignets worth it??

I did have a stressful afternoon. I left myself 3 hours to get there and back. Surely that would be enough. Obviously the detour at Riverside did not help matters but every red light REALLY???? :rotfl2: My luck.
As for the beignets, I did eat one while waiting for a boat at FQ. GUD They are a messy lot and once they get cold they lose a bit of the fluff. If you like fried dough covered in powdered sugar these are for you. Lighter than a funnel cake but the funnel cake has a bit more flavor.

Wow, what a day!! :scared1: I love it how having an annual pass changed your way of touring the parks! ;) I have heard this numerous times from DVC owners that knowing that they would come back made them slow down. Sounds like the AP did the trick for you! :goodvibes

You are attending a waterpark conference? That sounds interesting!! :goodvibes

I can probably safely say I USED to be that commando tourist. Now that I have done it all, many times, to my hearts content, I can relax, it is NOT going anywhere and I will always come back.

It was the World Waterpark Conference. It has become an annual event for me. It is a chance for all waterpark operators as well as those who supply to waterparks, indoor and outdoor, year round and seasonal to have a place to get together and share. Educational sessions to promote safety and best practices are abundant but the best part for me is the volunteering. I get more out of the conference by volunteering. It forces me to interact more and bring home more ideas to improve my staff and facility. :goodvibes

:cool1: for a $2 Annual Pass (sort of). Did I miss the answer to your cliffhanger?

The little did I know what I was getting into? Stay tuned. :rolleyes1

I see you are carrying your mug with you...can you tell me about that? Where can you fill them at the parks? We saw people carrying theirs, but didn't really know how to take advantage of that.

I learned when I was staying at POP I pretty much walked right by the food court coming and going. In the morning I would get coffee and drink it whhile waiting for rope drop. I would rinse it out when I was done, and on the way back to the room I would stop and refill it on the way back to the room.
As the year of the annual pass ( YOAP) progresses I learn the full capability of having a mug and the many uses it can serve.

Oh no, if you passed the pool at POR, you are going the wrong way if you're trying to find POFQ. But you already know that now. :)
I don't know why I feel like I always HAVE to find the pool, but I do. Kind of like a moth to a flame I guess.
I made a big circle. I was rushing and not paying attention. If I would pay attention and not rush I would have found the boat dock sooner but the boat would not have come any faster. :headache:

So I took a walk, then went to the boat dock when a boat came right away. Shucks I could have made it look like I meant to do that! :headache: :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: A 'Family Circus' straight line! If I know what that is, does that make me old?
I like to think well rounded.

Why, oh why, does it take so long to take a bus from DTD to anywhere? They seem to want to make it a hub of transportation, yet....it sucks.
I ask that question EVERY time I have to do it. EVERY TIME. I have had some luck but not much. I would visit DTD more ( and probably spend more $) if I could get there and back easier.

Ah yes, the hunt for a room in the Casitas section. I know it well.

Yes, you do. Why is that first walk to the room so long??? Somehow if you have a car it is a tiny bit shorter. ;)

Great updates! Love all the pics!!!

Thanks. I am sorry about being a blurry picture taker. I am trying but I guess I get excite when I shoot. ;)

Wow. What an adventure. I'm glad you made it to your conference.

Some days I think I can make an adventure out of going to the curb to get the mail. I don't go looking for it, sometime it just finds me. :sad2:

Luckily no one at the conference was looking for me. :rolleyes1 I squeeked in there just in the nick of time.

Missy who just got back from doing the World herself? I am sure you were running around like that too. I covered a lot of ground for the time I had. Low crowds for EPCOT opening and then the grand adventure to POR & FQ and back to CSR.

Yes those beignets were good!

Wow! Did you ever sleep?

When I did, I slept hard and good. :thumbsup2

It was yummy for breakfast too!

D'oh:headache: Yes inexperience did me in. However, I learned my lesson and remembered for the next time. :thumbsup2

::yes:: YUMMY I wish I had a smilie with powdered sugar all over the face.

Are you comfortable? I hope you enjoyed watching the ball and listening to Tapestry of Dreams as it plays in the background.

Moving on.

Have to take a picture of the troll but no one is around for me to ask to take a picture of me with the the troll. The downside to being alone.

I am just walking around World showcase. The food booths had already closed and it was mid week during Food and Wine. It was empty. Having been in future world that morning, I did not feel like repeating that again.

Finally I wander back and out. This was one time where I was tired. I was just taking my time and walking around but I really needed to get to bed and rest.
I left before the park closed. So it was early for me. The last picture in Mexico was just before 11pm.
Back to the busses.
Back to the Casitas. The walk seemed shorter now. I really appreciated that Queen sized bed that night.

Next up- A day full of talk but a night full of boogie.

Just read a whole ton of your updates - and whoa! no wonder you were tired - you packed so much in!!! That is the best side to being solo I bet! :thumbsup2

Sorry about all the rushing/being late...I HATE that feeling...especially in Disney World! Glad you made it on time though and it all worked out!

Other than you booking a billion trips on that AP, I wonder what is to come...:scratchin

Your night shots are wonderful , Pat!!! I loved WS by night- a while new world kind of. A magical sort of ambiance, for sure!!!:thumbsup2

Nice night pictures Pat. Too bad no one was around to take a picture of you with the troll, but at least you didn't have to wait for other people to move out of the way before you could take a picture. I sometimes have trouble getting a picture with just my kids since there are so many people around there.

Welcome back. I know you have been really busy. I am trying to push through a couple of days. I want to be able to see my holiday pictures while it is still the holidays. Even though it is one year later. :headache:

Yup that pretty much sums up the side effect all right. :rotfl:

If I can a half decent night shot, I am OK with that. Even if I lug a tripod I still manage to get some blur. I am working on that. :)

It was great how quiet EPCOT was that night. I go back later int he week and welll. ... is more like it.

I did enjoy the quiet on EPCOT that night. It almost felt like I was sneaking around after hours, there were so few people around in the middle of the week in Oct. Sadly that did not last.

Love your inside Mexico pictures! I never manage to get good ones in there. :goodvibes

I had the help of the ledge right by the stairs to help with stability.
It is a bit eerie to see the pavilllion so empty.
