**Official December 2010 Thread!!** - PART 2!

We are at the end of Day 3, and having a great time (thanks to the DIS, we planned really well). All I can say for ppl arriving tomorrow or the next day...pack for the cold! Guess we are just chalking the weather up to a little bit of Xmas spirit. Tomorrow will be fun for us because we get to do the segway tour and eat dinner at Le Cellier! Tried to go see the Osborne lights on Friday, but it was so crowded! Going to try again later this week.

We've heard people are being allowed in as early as 4pm. Is that still true??

I am not quite sure what time they let people in. I didn't even buy my ticket till today at six. But I did notice stations set up in tomorrowland for people to get there bracelets instead of at the front gate. So I wonder if that was for people who got there early? The party was fun but The Christmas decorations are definitely lacking this year.

I haven't read anything stating that they weren't allowing people in at 4. I'm sure it would have been posted on the Theme Parks board.

We're planning on going to MK at 4ish the day of our party (12th).

:sad1: i went to pick up my mother on monday for her
two doctor appointments and while i was clearing out the passenger seat, i heard her yelp. she blacked out and fell through the front door and rolled off of our porch falling three feet. I rushed her to the ER. first they thought she had several mini strokes, then they thought it was her heart failure. AFTER SEVEN DAYS of watching my mother struggle through severe pain they have FINALLY determined the cause of all the pain and decrease in bp--HER GALLBLADDER. it is TWICE the size, where it is normally posterior to the liver is now extended infront--where you can feel it thru her skin. not only does she suffer from CHF and diabetes, she is going thru this :sad2: :sad1: i have spent nearly 14 hours each day next to my mother and i am only 21. i am a full time student and desk clerk. we originally wanted to go last august, but couldn't afford it.

so we have been planning and planning for our december trip. i have hounded the site for ADRs. and we finally got all of our desired restaurants. we are to leave in a week, next sunday. my mom has insisted i don't cancel until the very last minute. and it kills me to think realistically that i will have to :sad1:

for anyone that dislikes personal situations on this thread- i would never wish this on ANYONE. i just needed to type it all out, and get any support i can.

thank you:hug:

Sorry about your mom, hope it all goes well!

17 days!!

I'm on my 2nd day of no pain and having a great mood (I think it carried over from yesterday). :rotfl:

Everyone have a great day! I have a list a mile long of things to get done. Sadly, none of it is Disney related

Oh sweetie - I'm so sorry to hear about this. Sending lots of pixie dust your way and lots of prayers for a speeding recovery for your mom. Hang in there, I know how tough this roller coaster is. :grouphug:

We are shipping one big box down to OKW before we get there. Most of it will be going into our DVC locker. I'm not paying out the butt to check extra luggage so the extra $ to ship this down doesn't really matter to me.

My question is: We are arriving Dec 23rd, when should I ship the box down there? I was thinking Dec 18th or 19th. What does anyone think?

TIA!

We shipped a week prior to arrival on UPS.

Big hug for stuffedwithfluff and mom! :grouphug: You are shouldering a huge responsibility for one so young. Know that our prayers are with you and you can vent anytime you need to and we'll listen. We arrive a few days before you and I have two daughters your age. If you would like to spend a few hours doing kid stuff (rides, shopping, whatever), I would love to visit with your mom and you could hang with my girls. They are really fun, easy going and a little nuts (see their pic below from 08.) PM me if you want contact info - really, I mean it!

4 days!!

So we are officially in the middle of a blizzard here in Northeast Ohio. We have almost a foot at my house. DH works 10 miles away (farther into the snow belt) and he has even more of that. And its still coming down and will be until Tuesday night! Its crazy! Makes me even more excited for Disney!

Crazy happy dance :banana::banana: 3 days to go = 2 sleeps! Had a very busy weekend with 4 multi-day craft shows over 4 days - so ready to put it all behind us and head to see Uncle Mickey for some major fun! The suitcases are out and I'm throwing stuff in. Still need to make those scarfs - maybe today :rolleyes1. My scarf will have a 6" lime green mickey head on the end. Hope to see many DIS buddies. FYI, I am 5'5" fit, but pooh sized 46year old, with shoulder length brown hair, traveling with my 2 brunette daughters. Real name - Debby. WooHoo! Can't stop dancing !

ahhh! Its here! Leaving tomorrow AM at 4:30.. Just printed our Boarding passes :scared1::scared1::scared1: Cant wait for the flight to be OVER! Now having a movie day with my little one to brain wash him a little more before we go :)

(((HUGS)))) From someone who had to take care of my mom from the time I was 14 I so know what you are going through. Its tough feeling more like the parent/adult then the kid. I'll be praying that your mom gets better and they you guys get to go on that trip!

Keep us updated.

OMG I can not believe that tomorrow we will be in single digits before we leave. I am so excited!! Got good news for once today. Doggie should be ok. The lumps seem to be just fatty deposits. The vet wants us to measure then and then just keep an eye on them for a bit. I was so scared. I never thought I would be one of those people to get overly attached to an animal until I had kids. That dog is my DS's best friend and has been since the day we brought the dog home.

DH has a full 2 days of work, the phone has been ringing, and that is a great thing!!

So I am definatly dancing today!!!:banana:

What happens if you don't cancel a ADR? When do you have to cancel (non-signature) reservations?
If you didn't have to leave a credit card (like for California Grill or CRT), nothing happens.

Just out of courtesy, you should cancel any reservation as soon as you know you won't be using it. Then those who haunt the reservations site might be able to snag yours!

are you too kind, thank you so much! i am just worried about us making it altogether. now her potassium is too high to do any procedure. i've been looking at several weeks throughout january and february and if we need to rearrange our travels, i would much rather go when my mom will be better. disney world will always be there, my mom wont:sad2:
she has been sounding better, though. she is the strongest woman i know.
again, thank you, are you so sweet:hug:

You know... I was recently questioning, why this board, which has been so popular and such a hot bed of exchanging ideas, has become suddenly, less active. Then it occurred to me, "Oh yeah. Everyone that usually comments on this bored is either down there or in the process of getting there. DUH!"

I hope everyone is have the times of their lives. I'll be joining you on Friday.
