Just booked airfare and guess what????

Joe and I are going to Disneyland this weekend! I'm so excited!!!!! I've never been. Best part is that my company is sending me to Long Beach for business so we only have to pay for Joe's expenses! How awesome is that????

I will be flying out on Sunday and coming back on Thursday. It will be a quick trip but it should be a lot of fun. I will be back in the next week or so to update and reply to everyone. Have a wonderful holiday!! Mine is starting out fantastic!!

sounds like you guys had a wonderful meet! this trip you really did hit the dissers jackpot in meeting face to face with do many dissers!
the end is always so sad, I need to wind my TR up and finish it...I have been dragging it out for too long now...just need to MAKE the time to finish it up...

That's so exciting that you get to go to DL! My mom was sent to Newport Beach for business when I was a senior in high school, so she paid for me to go and we went to CA Adventure (and other places). Gotta love those business trips!!

Hi everyone! I have been so bad the last few weeks. We had a great time at Disneyland. It's not Disney World but seeing the light on in Walt's apartment, riding their version of Space Mountain, being able to walk between parks and Downtown Disney, and the World of Color....AMAZING!!!!

Without further ado and since our next trip is only a week and a half away at this point, I better wrap this thing up. On my first TR I wrapped up with the Good, the bad, and the Ugly and I liked it so I figure why not continue. Here ya go folks!

The Good
1. The weather - a sprinkle on one day....it was incredible this year! Some would say it was hot, but I can deal with hot.

2. DIS meets - We absolutely loved hanging out with our DIS friends at the Safari Celebration, EPCOT, leaving AK, BBB, at the AK pool, and everywhere else we ran into a DISer. DISer's are awesome!!!

3. Josie's first 40" rides. What a different experience for our family now that we can ride most of the major attractions together. Also, it was awesome to see Josie's face light up.

4. DVC - our first DVC stay and AKV-Kidani was phenomenal. The cast members, the view of the savannah, the pool, the theming, our room, everything was out of this world. (Thanks again Megan for the info!!!)

5. Special suprises from special friends - I can't tell you how awesome it was to return from a long day at the parks and have something special waiting for us. I will definitely be using this in the future. Made me teary everytime!

The Bad
1. Transportation - We got stuck on the monorail and waited forever for monorails, buses, and boats. We eventually started driving everywhere. Usually we have no issues, but this year in May was a little odd.

2. Dining- It was hit or miss this year. Some meals were good, some were okay, and some were down right horrible. The worst part is that every meal seemed to take at least an hour and a half.

The Ugly
1. CM at ToT- talk about being rude. Geesh!

2. Les Chefs - this has taken over as the worst food ever consumed on Disney property. It was tough to overcome the slop we ate for lunch at Akershus in 2008 but the mush burger tops it by far.

3. The little girl who fell ill - probably the saddest thing I've ever seen at Disney. I hated seeing that little girl taken away restrained on a stretcher. Stuff like that isn't supposed to happen at the Happiest Place on Earth ya know?

Overall our trip was fantastic! I had to really think hard to find some things that weren't perfect so that's a good indication of an amazing trip. I don't think we will be doing May next year. We have two more upcoming trips to WDW one Oct. 4-10 and then another Nov. 20-28. After that we know we will be going Sept. 30-Oct. 9 in 2011. I might try to squeak in a few long weekends but nothing is set in stone. We are considering a spring cruise to the Western Caribbean and a possible June trip out west to Yellowstone.

you are considering the western and we are considering the eastern caribbean, too funny! so, you guys need to consider sailing out of New Orleans or are you looking into the Disney cruise lines--I'm still looking at them all . Yellowstone will be such an awesome adventure...I remember when we went to Mt Rushmore, the badlands, the Rocky's; the West is such a beautiful place to explore and Gwendolyn & Dayne loved it!

We are having a great year Connie! We are considering RCCL, DCL, and Carnival at the moment. We are looking at all ports in Florida, Alabama, and Louisiana. We would like to see Cozumel, Cancun, St. Thomas, those types of destinations. Joe's Mom and Dad have been harassing me for years to go out West. This might be the year I cave. I'm just not a big fan of wild critters and bugs.

Love that Sesame Street Cake! How did the wedding cake go? Did you already do it? I can't remember when you were going to do it...

I'm glad you had a good time on the Segway tour. I really want to do the one at Ft. Wilderness sometime.

We enjoyed meeting y'all at the DIS meet! Too bad we didn't get there in time to meet Marie, though. I think the kids met her once several years ago.

The last day is always so bittersweet. You are still there, but you know you are going home soon...it's awful!

I am not sure Jeff can go if it is the the 1st since the last week into the first is bad for him at work. Decisions, decisions. We are still going then just not sure how to make it all work....

Hi B! Wedding cake went okay. I had to make it for Bridezilla - sister to a friend. It turned out really pretty. The bride gave me 15 minutes to set it up so I had to deliver it assembled. That didn't go too well but I recovered and it looked great. It took so long to make the 12 cakes (an entire weekend) that I never got to stop and take a pic.

It was great meeting you all as well. I don't know if I will do a mini-TR for Disneyland, July or the trip next week. I might try for a PTR for next October (you should come girl!) and include details on those trips. Still deciding what to do.

Thanks Sarah! We have most definitely been putting DVC to good use. We have been so happy since joining. We're considering an add on - Beach Club would be our first choice...only because of the pool. I have waterdogs for children.

I REALLY enjoyed Disneyland. We will probably try to take the girls there in a couple of years. I hate driving in LA but other than that it was pretty cool.

Thanks Michelle! We have been very blessed this year. It's amazing and unreal to me at times. There's quite a few of us planning to go Oct. 2011, think you could come then? It would be great to meet up and spend a little more time together! I really need to get over to everyone's reports and get caught up. This summer has been so busy (but Fun!). I have been a terrible DISer!

It was weird in July not meeting up with you guys as well. When we were at dinner I just kept thinking how weird it was not to be texting with you or planning our next meet up. I'm thinking the race will be the 1st but who knows. The race is on the 2nd this year so I'm assuming they will do it the same Saturday next year. I hope you can work it out. Jeff has to be there so that he and Joe can get more Lapu Lapu's.
