So our last morning started out fairly uneventful. The alarm went off and I got that sinking feeling in my stomach that it was our last day and I would be flying today. Since everything was packed and everyone had showered we decided to head over to breakfast at Boma and then we would come back and load our luggage into the rental.
The walk to AKL wasn't too bad at all and when we arrived we were seated right away. My family was pretty quiet throughout the meal...I guess we were all kind of depressed that we were leaving. We loved the juice and everyone found plenty to eat on the buffet. I have to say that we enjoyed the breakfast buffet much more than we enjoyed our dinner there a few years back. Toward the end of the meal, our waiter brought Joe a little birthday surprise...
Here he is with Linds during breakfast...
After filling our bellies, we tipped our waiter and made out to the front of the lobby. We had planned to meet Dana (racefanof88) and Christie (bouncycat) at DTD around 9:30am. As we were walking out I noticed this sweet little girl in playing in front of us. She looked really familiar and it caused me to look around. Sitting right there on a bench waiting for the ME was Queila and her husband. Their little sweetie Beatriz was who I had spotted. I said hello to them and we chatted for just a few seconds. Unfortunately their bus had arrived and they had to go. It was really fun meeting them though!
Joe thought it was hilarious that I had spotted them and struck up a conversation. (He really has no idea how close I am to my DIS friends. )
After walking back to AKV-K we grabbed our bags, made one last run through the room to ensure we didn't leave anything and headed downstairs. It was sad to be leaving AKV. We had enjoyed a really wonderful stay. Our experience really made up for the days of rain the year before. I can't say enough positive things about our villa and the staff. Overall it was outstanding!
We took the elevator down to the parking area, loaded our bags and said one last goodbye for now to AKV. I had tears in my eyes as we were leaving. I'm a total sap like that. (I have tears just writing about it right now).
We made it to DTD with no problems. We decided to hand out at the WOD while I waited for a firm location from Dana. She had been texting me already that morning. We weren't there long when I got the word that we would be meeting at the Lego Store. I have to tell ya that I wasn't super excited about it but it ended up working out great. The girls found plenty to occupy themselves while the Big Kids chatted. Here's Josie with her creation...
We spent about an hour in there before we decided to head over to WOD again. We all did some shopping and then decided to have lunch together at Earl of Sandwich. It started to rain a little so our timing was perfect. We got in line, got our sandwiches and spent some time chatting while we ate. It was a great meet. Again, I was a dumb-dumb and didn't take a single picture. We really did enjoy our time with Christie, her family and Dana. Turns out we have a lot in common. After the food, we all kind of went our separate ways. Joe, the girls and I checked out a few more stores. We had 46 snack credits to use so we headed over to Goofy's Candy Company. This is Josie's favorite...I had to take a pic of in front of the sign with my phone...
We most certainly used every single snack credit and left loaded with snacks for the next three to four weeks. This was just another affirmation that Deluxe Dining Plan is too much for my family. We didn't come close to using all the credits by the end of the week.
After leaving Goofy's it was time to head to the airport. It was sad but necessary. We made it to MCO without any issues and stopped along the route to gas the rental up. We made it through drop off without any problems, we checked out luggage and made our way over to the mini-monorail. Why does the last day seem to fly by? If you read my last TR this picture may look somewhat familiar....I think we have another annual family picture with this one. It's amazing how much the girls have grown and changed since last year...
After grabbing some drinks in the terminal and a potty break we were boarding our flight to Nashville. The flight was super bumpy and I was a nervous wreck but we made it home. As we were exiting the plane, I received a call from the limo driver. He was waiting outside for us. We grabbed our bags from baggage claim and were seated inside the limo in little time. It was soooo nice to sit back and relax on the 45 minute drive back to our home. It was sad but at least we were able to take it easy and just reflect on the trip with our friends. It it had to be over at least it was pleasant and fun.
