Boo to me! - Solo Halloween PTR 10/22-29 - Link to TR posted!

So apparently, the Wishes dessert parties have been extended through December 29. I'm tempted to book it, but I'm not sure if I want to.

Anyone have any ideas on the subject? :confused3 I love desserts, but I'm just not sure if I want to book it or not.

LOL...I'm doing an update on my PTR in a few minutes about the same thing! :rotfl: I have no advice for you, because I'm wondering the same thing! :cool1:

I'm here! I haven't gotten all the way through your PTR yet but I did want to say that I also do not want to plan what I will specifically do in each park b/c we did that last trip and I feel as though I didn't enjoy it as much. I also just made a list of which attractions I wanted to do. This way when we go to the park, I can enjoy myself without worrying about getting my list completed! I still like to plan my day out, though!

Yikes! I suppose you're used to working the night shift but I'm not sure I could do it. Although, the "sleeping in" every day thing I could get used to!

At any other time, I would recommend the Dessert Party - but remember, you have to go to enjoy the Desserts; not look for a prime spot to view the fireworks.

But, you are going at the time of year where MNSSHP and the F&W festivals are on. You might be better off thinking about spending the money snacking desserts around F&W and enjoying Illuminations instead.

princess::upsidedow

Yeah, I'm thinking that I'll just get some ice cream or something and sit over in Fantasyland, like I mentioned last night :) I love the fireworks, and it's actually pretty cool to feel like you're surrounded by them.

And ME!!

Firefly - I love the Stargate reference! I found this one below; but yours is so much better!

:lmao: I like that one, but I never got into SG1. I like Stargate Atlantis better. I think it's just the different characters. Plus, Joe Flanagan is hot :lovestruc

Well, you've already made your decision, and I think I've made mine :) I hope you have a good time at it! Take lots of pictures! :teeth:

I like lists and such, but I don't like detailed itineraries, because you never know what the crowds are going to be like or if you change your mind, you know? I'd just rather go with the flow when it comes to hanging out in the park :cutie: Plus, it's not like I'll never be back :)

Technically, it's not really 'sleeping in'. I get off of work at 7am and am usually home around 7:45-8am. By the time I get to bed, it's usually around 8:15-8:30, sometimes later. If I have to work that night, then I have to be up around 4-:4:30 to be at work at 7. So it looks like sleeping in, but it's really not, since it's still about 8 hours or so of sleep :)

I didn't even need your explanation to know what it was! You and I are totally two Geeks in a pod! You like all my favorite shows!

:rotfl2: That's awesome :teeth: I prefer SGA over SG1 (don't like SG1 at all, actually), so I wish they'd had a smiley with the wraith in it, but the one I posted is fine with me :teeth:

I found a blog last night that had pictures of some of the food that's being offered at F&W, so I looked through them to see if any of the things I wanted to try were pictured. They were and, as such, my list of interesting things has changed :lmao:

I decided to cut the stop in China, since I know I like pot stickers and chicken sticks. I've also decided not to try the baklava, since I was apparently thinking about something else and that's not what I thought it was :lmao: The other things I cut were the lobster roll, ravioli, beef pita pocket, and the stop in Poland. It seems like when you stop in Poland, the kielbasa they give you is just a small slice, not a whole link :( So yeah. A few things less :)

I also ordered my MNSSHP ticket for 10/24, and have been browsing around online to see if I can find a new laptop bag. I'll be ordering it in September, since my next paycheck is going toward airfare and the two after that are already spoken for (large bill and then a Disney payment). I'll also probably be ordering my last MNSSHP ticket with my next paycheck, depending on how much airfare (and my check) turns out to be. I only get paid every two weeks, which kind of sucks.

As for airfare, I've decided to just go with the two seats on Southwest and hope for a refund for the second seat. It's just easier. A little more expensive, but still easier than dealing with being worried about being kicked off the plane. I put in a request at work to have October 22 off as well (I'd previously requested October 23, 24, 27, and 28 and had them approved). I put on the request that the only flight available to me was at 8am, and I get off of work at 7am. There is a flight at 8am, but it's not the only one available, I just want to get to Disney sooner :rolleyes1 I'd also be able to get some sleep the night before and not be completely exhausted for the next couple of days. After what happened when I went without sleep last Wednesday, I don't want to be exhausted the first three days of my vacation. If they ask, I'll just say that it's because of the seat situation. I don't think it'll be a problem, though. Everyone else I work with waits until the last minute to request vacation, and I put mine in three and a half months in advance. I'd technically be using a sick day for the 22nd, but that's fine by me. If I get that day approved, I'll be off of work from October 20 to November 1 because of the way my days off fell in addition to my vacation days. :woo-hoo:

I'd previously posted that I was thinking about going to the Wishes dessert party one night, but I've decided not to. I think I'll just get a sundae from Mrs Potts and sit by Dumbo and watch the fireworks from there. It's pretty cool to watch them there, since it's like you're surrounded by the fireworks. The vertical fireworks are shot off from the buildings on either side of the Castle, and the huge ones are about a mile north of Fantasyland.

So, yeah. Just moving along :teeth:

97 days!

:dance3: :yay:  :yay: :dance3:

OK, maybe we're not so much, I liked SG1 alot more than Atlantis, but ended up flaking out on both series and never seeing the endings. The wraith were just not that interesting and one Go'ould(sp?) were out of the picture and those weird religious types the (O-something) came in it wasn't as interesting. I always liked Daniel Jackson best well and the gal was pretty hot, not the brunette, but the blonde one who was there in the beginning.

I don't know who Joe Flanagan is, but I guess he's the guy who sat in the chair and activated it and thus became almost in charge. I actually liked the Canadian guy better tho I don't remember much about the series, I liked the guy that they picked up along the lines, he was kind of a rogue sort of homeless guy, but he was cool.

OK enough rambling about SG, back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Yes, Joe Flanagan was the guy who sat int he chair in the beginning. He played John Sheppard. The Canadian guy was Rodney McKay, played by David Hewlett, and the rogue homeless guy :-)lmao:) was Ronon, played by Jason Momoa. My cousin tried to get me into SG-1, but it just didn't work. I'll fully admit that sometimes I just watch things because of "the pretty" (aka, I think someone in it is hot), and that's why I gave SGA a chance, but I wound up liking it anyway.

Yeah, Rodney, he was cool. I tend to like things because of their plots and not the "pretty" folks in it. I tend to like the geekier characters. I guess you watch Bones because of Booth. My Dad likes it because "where else can he find three beautiful women in one show?" I acutally liked Zach and Dr. Hoggins best, as I said I like the geeks. Why do I like the men when I am supposed to be a lesbian? Good question, but even more will the DISboards block that word in my post?

Actually, I only watch certain things because of the way the actors look. For example, I can't stand Twilight and the only reason I watched it was for Cam Gigandet. I didn't even pay attention if he wasn't on the screen. One of my favorite shows ever is Supernatural, and I watch that entirely for the plot. I watch Castle for the plot, and because I absolutely love Nathan Fillion, I think he's awesome. I watch Glee because it's escapist. Come to think of it, I don't have many shows that I'm an actual fan of. It just happens that sometimes the actors or actresses in shows I watch happen to be attractive and then I'll like them, but I don't watch just because of that. Case in point would be Friday Night Lights. The guy who played the dude in the wheelchair was absolutely adorable to me, but I gave up on that show because I felt like my brain was dying. Same thing with Vampire Diaries. I think Ian Somerhalder is pretty, but I refuse to watch that show because I think it's ridiculous. I don't really find Booth all that attractive, to be honest. I watch that because of the interaction between all the characters. I think I cared more about Hodgins and Angela than I did about Booth and Brennan :lmao:

Basically, even if there's a hot actor or actress in it, unless the plot is good, I usually won't stick around for a TV show or watch a movie more than once.

The only show you've mentioned in there besides Bones that I know is Castle, we watch that but not because we knew the actor's name who stars in it but because we like Crime Dramas, and especially Comedy Crime Dramas. Our Tivo is totally full of shows and I actually have an excel spreadsheet to help us figure out what to watch when and we lost a bunch of shows back in May because we weren't watching them fast enough and we were recording everything in HD so it took up too much room. Now we are trying get all the old shows we lost back before we watch the ends of season.

I hope that Angela and Hodgins get back together and I think from the last one I saw they are on their way, I like them together, they were very cute. I also liked the one where Brennan was Wonder Woman.

OK must go to bed.....

Well, I've been a fan of Nathan Fillion for about half of my life. He's an excellent comedic actor, and he also does drama really well. He was Mal Reynolds in Firefly, which is where half of my screen name comes from :)

Since I work at night, I don't get many opportunities to watch TV unless I watch it online. I'm also picky about the shows that I do watch. There are a couple of shows I like that are on cable that I have no choice but to watch online because my family doesn't have cable. We also don't have a Tivo. I think you'd like Supernatural and Leverage, actually. Supernatural's about these two brothers who hunt demons and ghosts and other otherworldly things. Leverage is about a group of con artists who use their skills to help people who've been shafted by corporations and such. I do tend to be fairly picky about my TV shows, but I've noticed that one thing I tend to go for is a show where the cast has an excellent camaraderie, like Bones or Firefly or Leverage. Honestly, my two favorite characters on Castle are Ryan and Esposito because they're just absolutely hilarious. Their parts in the BDSM episode were amazing :teeth:

Keeping my lips sealed about Bones, I promise :)

Sleep well!

I don't really like to plan what I do while I'm in the park, except what I want to go on and where I want to eat.

Just wanted to say Hello! I just started reading your trip report! I'm from Illinois too, and we'll be at Disney the 26th through Nov 2nd! We are actually planning on MK-26th, Epcot-27th, and MK the 28th, so we may run into each other! How cool would that be?

We've got tickets for the party on the 31st so far, but I'm actually considering buying tickets for the 28th party as well! :confused3 haha! I've taken my son to the Halloween Party for the past 2 years and he LOVES it!

I LOVE  Leverage, Parker is awsome, 7 or 9 was a really cool character, I like Nate, and the others and you're right the team work is very cool. We accidently lost the first two shows of the season and are hoping to get them back on Tivo before we watch the others, but if we finish all the rest of our shows, we'll just watch and catch up once they are done.

Really got to go now, Fran is very cranky and we've been yelling at each other already. I hate when that happens. :sad1:

I'm IN!! Let's share a Mickey Icecream cookie from the Bakery.

:lovestruc Yup! Hot! Hot! Hot! (Bit on the young side for me )

[I guess that answers my question on another post....Hope Fran is getting better!

:welcome: Nice to meet you! Where about in Illinois are you? My itinerary has actually changed a little, so I'm actually hitting MK only in the evening on the 26th and Epcot on the 25th. I'm upgrading to hoppers when I get there, so I may wind up at MK for part of the day anyway :lmao:

Well, as you can see, I'm going three times, so you may not want to listen to me, because I'd suggest that you go to both :rotfl: Honestly, there's just so much to do and see at the parties that I don't think you guys would be able to do it in one, even though you guys have been before :)

See you around!

I'm at 99 days today! :) SO EXCITED! :cool1:

Yay! I'm at 96 today :lmao: I so so so can't wait to go :yay:

I got started on Leverage because I'm a fan of Chris Kane's music (the guy who plays Eliot). He's one of the very few country singers I like :lmao:

I hope things calm down

[I guess that answers my question on another post....Hope Fran is getting better!

I think I like the sundaes from Mrs Potts better than the ice cream sandwiches :duck: I know, crazy, right? I also don't like Dole whips :lmao: That's just because I'm not a fan of pineapple, though. Not at all.

I love Joe Flanagan, even if he's a little too old for me ;)

Don't worry about the seats! My cousin is the same size as me and I consider myself pooh-sized (to a degree) and she fit on SW flights just fine! :)

When I flew on them two years ago, I was about 50-60 pounds lighter than I am now and I had trouble fitting. My weight is mostly carried in my middle, which makes meeting their rules more difficult, since their rule is that you have to have both armrests down and not "encroach" on your neighbor(s). I also sat on a measuring tape to see how much I *ahem* expand when I'm sitting, and let's just say I wouldn't fit comfortably in a 17" seat :guilty: So I'm just gonna play it safe and buy the two seats and hope for the refund for the second one.

I'm so jealous you're under 100 days!! Yay!! :cool1: I feel like I'm never going to get there!

:woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay: I seriously can't wait :teeth: I know how you feel, though :lmao: When we were still planning on January, it felt like it was never going to get here!
