Greetings everybody!

So I just returned from a 10 day trip at WDW. If you want to follow my photo TR (it also shows a character introduction of everybody), here's the link: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2498873The first week it was me, my family, my uncle and my cousins staying at SSR (8 of us). We opted for the QSDP because we wanted to have the dining plan experience while being very flexible. With some picky cousins, we did manage to find lots of places that satisfied their chicken nugget cravings while at the same time providing variety for the rest of us.

It was hard to find reviews for the QSDP so I hope that my report helps those in the future trying to decide about whether or not to get it! :thumbsup2

Oh yeah, and I have tons of pics from almost every meal. They range from Casey's Corner at MK to Wolfgang Pucks Express at DTD to Sunshine Seasons at Epcot and Toy Story Pizza Planet at DHS! Lots and lots to come.

That's the lineup and so the next update will be our first dinner at WPE!

Oh and for future reference, the total cost of the QSDP for 8 of us for 7 days was $1886.44. I will be keeping a running total of what it would have cost us if we weren't on the dining plan.

Wolfgang Puck's Express-Dinner

So we arrived at SSR and were pretty hungry after travelling all day. After meeting up with our cousins, we decided to head over to WPE. We wanted to take the boat from SSR to DTD, but chances of thunderstorms forced us to take the bus. The bus was probably a better decison because it placed us right next to the restaurant and it was beginning to pour!

We got inside quickly before the downpour and quickly ordered. The variety and quality at this place was unmatched by any other CS place we went to. Ok, on with the food pics.

DC12 and DC10 both got the chicken tenders. I didn't try them, but they seemed happy. Nothing special.

DU and I got the Spaghetti and Meatballs. The noodles were very good. The sauce was light but had flavor. The meatballs just melted in your mouth. They crumbled as soon as you stuck your fork into them. Mmmmm. And wonderfully spiced.

DB got the Pennette Bolognese. It had a nice taste to it. The peas were an interesting touch and very yummy! He enjoyed his meal. Sorry for the blurry pic.

DD tried the Pennette chicken alfredo. It was creamy and delicious. I tried a bite and I liked it slightly more than the bolognese. It had a little bit more flavor.

DM ordered the 4 cheese pesto pizza. One of the best things on the menu I think. The pesto was so scrumptious and the mozarella was perfect! Even the DCs (who are skeptical about trying new foods) liked it when they tried it.

DC13 ordered the Mac n Cheese. I didn't get a pick, but I did get a bite. If the traditional orange fake cheese is what you're looking for, it's not here. This one was leaps and bounds better! The baked cheese was heavenly!

For dessert, we had...
a creme brulee

2 brownies

3 frozen yogurts (sorry no pic) and 2 cheesecakes
2098796430101957511S500x500Q85.jpg

All of the desserts were yummy yummy yummy! The froyo especially hit the spot because it was warm outside (despite the tropical rain forest weather).

Anyway, we started with 112 CS and 112 snacks. At WPE we used 8CS.

WPE dinner: 8CS (104CS left, 112 snacks left)
If we weren't on QSDP, we would have paid: $170.61

:thumbsup2

Wolfgang Puck has to be the classiest counter service option on property. Thanks for the review.

We also enjoy wolfgang puck express. Yummy macaroni and cheese

Yes, the mac and cheese was very yummy! I probably would have ordered it if we had gone more than 3 times! :rotfl2:

Mmmmm Popcorn. Thanks for joining the party! :upsidedow

It was definitely very classy for a CS place. The waiters were always very helpful and nice, not to mention the food selections were way above and beyond other CS food options.

Thanks for your review. Looking forward to more!

Tomorrow look for some more reviews! Coming up: Sunshine Seasons

Thankyou, Thankyou for doing a QSDP review:worship:
I have just reduced my plan from the regular DDP to the QSDP, as i realised there were more CS restaurants we fancied trying than TS. include in that the freedom and not being tied down.

I am so looking forward to reading your review

Many, many Thanks

Ali

We are doing the QSDP in August and I am very interested in your reviews. I will be standing by to read more.:yay:

I will add my thanks for doing a QSDP review:banana:

We are leaving Sunday for AKV and have just added the QSDP - you are right there is a real lack of QSDP reviews here :confused3 Guess that it is more inspiring when you are going deluxe :rotfl:

Hopefully I will be able to contribute some reviews when I get back and pay it forward:)

Since this was only our second trip, we had never tried the regular DDP. There are definitely tons of choices for CS places. We probably would have eaten at more unique places if it weren't for my cousins, but whatever, we still had great food!

We are considering a possible change to QSDP...can't wait to read more!!

Hopefully I can help you make a decision one way or another. :goodvibes

Great to see a Quick Service review - looking forward to hearing more popcorn::

Thanks! The quick service reviews around here have been scarce so I'm trying to help out a little bit!

Awesome! Maybe I can show you some restaurants that you really want to try in a couple months. :yay:

Excited to be joining in!

Excited that you are joining in too!

I will add my thanks for doing a QSDP review:banana:

All these deluxe reviews!! :scared1: With the amount of food we ate on the QSDP, I can't even imagine eating on the DxDP!

Wow I love WGPE, the fact that its CS makes it even better!

We totally loved that WPE was a CS! It's kinda on the border between CS and TS. :woohoo:

Artist's Palette-Breakfast

The next morning, we woke up early (6:30) to go to DHS. After getting kinda ready, DU, DC12, DC10, DB and I went to the counter service place at SSR to grab some snack pastries for breakfast. Since we stayed at one of the Grandstand areas, it was only a short 5 min walk from our room to the place. Not bad at all.

This meal we had:
-2 cherry danishes (tons of cherry filling, mmmm)
-2 coffeecakes (probably the best pastry that they had, the crumbs on top were so good and the rest of the cake was very moist)
-2 cinnamon rolls (large, but not as big as the Main Street Bakery ones, but still decent tasting)
-1 croissant (very very light, almost too light, but ok for a small breakfast)
-1 chocolate chip muffin (I didn't try it because I am not a big fan of chocolate in the morning, but based on the other muffins, I'm sure that this one was delicious also)
-3 little milks (8oz and 1%)
-1 big milk (16oz but skim)

It was just enough for us to get a good start for the day. I have some pics of the pastries but I will post them later.

Artist's Palette Breakfast: 12S used (104CS, 100S)
OOP cost: $27.78
Total running OOP cost: $198.39

Sunshine Seasons-Lunch

After a morning at DHS, we headed over to Epcot for lunch. One of the closest places to the main entrance (we took the bus, not the boat) was Sunshine Seasons so we stopped by.

This place had so many options, but still the cousins were searching for their chicken nuggets! :confused3 Because some people weren't that hungry, we split some meals here.

We got 2 chicken Caesar salads for DM, DD and me. It was good, but nothing special. I'm not sure how you could make a classic chicken Caesar be anything special. The chicken was good, the croutons were not stale (thankfully) and there wasn't too much dressing. The plates were huge, so it was good that we split them.
2920964080101957511S500x500Q85.jpg

We also ordered 3 meals of Rotisserie (sp?) chicken. The chicken was also moist. The carrots were good because they were slathered in butter! :cloud9: The rice was just ok. DB did not care for it at all, but that's because it had some spices that he wasn't used to. I didn't try the mashed potatoes but they looked good too.
2084877770101957511S500x500Q85.jpg

So only 5 meals for the 8 of us, but it was plenty. We also spent 2 snacks for extra drinks (we only got 5 with the meals). As for desserts, this place had THE best selection because there were so many delicious looking options.

We got 1 strawberry shortcake, which gets good marks on these boards. It was good, but I'm not raving about it. I would get it again, but that's because I really like strawberries.
2721837940101957511S500x500Q85.jpg

DB and I split the "Fruit Tulip". I really liked it, maybe because I just wanted some good fruit or something cool on a hot day. But it was very yummy. The cream inside was awesome, although the blueberries had that "frozen blueberry" taste instead of fresh; the other fruits tasted fine.
2984462700101957511S500x500Q85.jpg

DD got a Key Lime tart thing. It was large and good, although I'm not a huge key lime fan. DD very much enjoyed it, and even DCs were ok with it.
2888658660101957511S500x500Q85.jpg

We also got a chocolate mousse cake and a cookie, both I didn't get to take a picture of before they got scarfed down. I really wanted to come back here later for another meal to try some of the other tempting desserts, but DCs weren't coming back! :snooty: Overall, my family liked the place, and highly recommend it for future guests! Great value for the QSDP.

Sunshine Seasons Lunch: 5CS 2S used (99CS, 98S)
OOP cost: $89.80
Total running OOP cost: $288.19
