Hello!! The excitement is building so much I can't stand it! This will be our first anniversary celebration trip. We feel beyond blessed that we can even go back, thanks to a 40% off pin that I only received about 12 weeks ago!:woohoo:

Last year for our Disneymoon, I ended up getting sick on the plane ride to Disney and was sick in bed practically our entire trip :sad1::sad2:I was in so much pain, could not move. Poor DH! Bless him for not packing up and going back to NY, because I was insufferable!! I was inconsolable, and just so distraught that our Poly CL Disneymoon was just ticking away. Poor guy didn't know what to do with me! Luckily I was a little better by the second to last night, and we were able to do the two really special things we had planned for our wedding/DM- V+A's Chef's Table, and the Richard Petty Driving Experience for DH. Both those experiences made up for the whole time I was sick though!!! However we both knew it would be a long time until we were able to go back to the World, especially after all the wedding expenses and all. THEN 10 days after we got back from Disney, DH got laid off.:sad2: So the next 6 months until he got a job were beyond hard and we NEVER though we would be celebrating our anniversary in Disney, that's for sure! Fast forward to tax time!!!! I got a pin right at the time when we found out we would be getting quite a good return from good ol' Uncle Sam!

We decided that since we couldn't afford the Poly again, we would do WL CL and do DxDDP!!!!!!! A first for us! We have always been DDP people in the past. It was so much fun, and so exciting and romantic to plan this culinary adventure for our anniversary. So without further adieu, the cast:

Moi- Allegra, 27. Lover of food, period! I'm not picky at all, and love trying new things. I love beef, seafood, veggies and fruits...I love bread, and cheese, LOVE those! There are a few flavors I don't like. Black licorice, anise, etc. are not for me. I won't eat tripe! That's big in my mom's country of Argentina where we spend a lot of time. But I love things like sweetbreads and foie gras! YUM! I love fine dining, but I also love fast food. I have a wide range of things that make me happy.

DH-Mike, 30. He is a very adventurous eater. I have never really met anyone that is SO open to new things. For example when we started dating he had never even TRIED any fish before. Ever. Now he eats sushi (real pieces of fish sushi)! Most people that haven't ever tried seafood are a little hesitant, in my experience, to delve into the world of seafood, let alone raw hunks of fish. Mike loves ribs, filets, a great hamburger. He does not like cheddar cheese, celery, or asparagus. He also enjoys fine dining, and was the one to push for DxDDP!

On this trip we will try 3 Signature restaurants that are new to us, 2 TS that are new to us, and a character breakfast which we have NEVER done before together!!!!! We will also be arriving on our actual anniversary, and celebrating by dining at Cali Grill at the perfect time for the last night of Wishes for the summer. :cloud9: We have printed out the menus, and have been looking over them to see what looks good! Everything looks great, I'll say that!! There are also some culinary surprises I have planned for DH along the way, so stay tuned for that.

Next post will be the list of our ADRs, and after that I'll write some of the menu choices we're thinking about. Thanks to anyone who has read along! I have to say it, sorry!! HAVE A MAGICAL DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wizard::wizard:

ETA: The pic of us is from the second part of our Honeymoon in Costa Rica!

I'm joining in for this one. Can't wait to read your reviews! By the way, I love your Snow White tatoo!

Signing on! You poor thing, I thought I had bad luck. I had a root canal last October on arrival day at WDW, only ruined a day or two. I can't imagine being sick for most of my vacation.

Count me in! So sorry you spent you honeymoon sick:hug: So thrilled you're getting a do over:thumbsup2
Love the Snow White tattoo:lovestruc

AWESOME!
I'm going to post my pre-dining DXDP trip thoughts soon, too!

Enjoy and Happy Anniversary!

Definitely in! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see your list of ADRs and to hear about the signature restaurants! I'm currently trying to decide if I can pull off 3 signatures in 8 nights with my kids. They love to eat out (I'm proud to say they take after moi), but since they'll be 3 and 5, I'm still debating whether I should scale back to 2 signatures. Maybe your reviews will help me decide?

Congrats on your upcoming trip!!! Your kids must be so cute!!!!!! 3 and 5, what perfect ages for a Disney trip!! Is it their first? Or are they seasoned little DISkids? I think as far as the dining/signatures go, it all depends on your kiddos. I think it depends a TON on spacing out your meals realllly well. Especially if you're going in the heat of summer. Last first week of June it was in the 90s! Anyhoo, I think if you want to have the 3 signature meals go for it. The sigs are not too formal or fancy, and the food is outstanding. I hope my reviews will be of help! I can't wait to enjoy that food! :dance3:

Alright! Time for the ol' list of ADR's. I will admit that they have been changed and changed again!! The WL/Poly IPO have been BEYOND AMAZING!!!! They have accommodated every request politely and promptly, and gotten me things I could not get on my own through DD. Narcoossee's and Crystal Palace were both booked through DD and online. The IPO got me the Narcoosee's at the exact time I wanted, and they were also able to get me the CP ressie just days ago at 4 weeks out for 9:10 am. I definitely think there are advantages to using the IPO's services fully :thumbsup2

Before we get started, I will let you in on the first of special surprises I have up my sleeve for my amazing DH. He currently thinks that Monday 6/7 is our AK day, because that's what we planned. AK has morning EMH, and the plan, as always, was to run for Kilamanjaro Safari. DH LOVES this more than anything! What he doesn't know, is I booked us on the Wildlife Discovery Excursion! This means that we get a one hour private (on a bus with up to 14 other people) tour of the safari! So in reality, our AK day is Tuesday 6/8. But instead of having to get up super early and race, we can get up like normal, take our time, and make our way to the meeting place at 9:45 am. So I will post the ADR's as they actually are, but DH doesn't know this! Thank goodness he's not on the DIS!!!!!!

In the words of Perry Farrell........."HERE.....WE......GOOOOOO!!!"

**We like to eat late dinners.**

Sat 6/5 - Breakfast: Bagel on the plane!
Lunch: Whispering Canyon Cafe (WL) 1:45 pm
Dinner: California Grill (CR) 9:10 pm

Sun 6/6-Breakfast: Club lounge (usually fruit, yogurt, bagels/muffin)
Lunch: Les Chefs de France 12:00 pm (EP)
Dinner: Narcoossee's 7:10 pm (GF)

Mon 6/7- Breakfast: Crystal Palace 9:10 am (MK)
Lunch: The Plaza (OOP)
Dinner: Artist Point 8:15 pm (WL)

Tue 6/8- Breakfast: Club lounge

Dinner: Yachtsman Steakhouse 6:45 pm (YC)

Wed 6/9- Breakfast: Club lounge

Dinner: Jiko 8:30 pm (AKL)

So there you have the list. We will also be sampling the CL offerings as much as possible! This trip we will actually be around when they are serving them!

The next post will be the start of our details, and all the little fun stuff that comes along with planning a great dining adventure! You will see each restaurant that we are trying, what I am looking forward to, and what DH is looking forward to at each place. I have like 20 pages of menus!!!!! :scared1: We really have a lot of things we are doing on this trip that we have never done before (together). DH specifically asked for the character breakfast! It was adorable! We shall see how he likes it after it's all said and done :)

Thanks for reading along! There are some surprises to be revealed in the next installment...Think Cali Grill anniversary dinner......:goodvibes:goodvibes

Great lineup! I'm interested to read your review of Artist Point, we're hoping to try this restaurant on our next trip.

The Wildlife Discovery Excursion sounds awesome! We were thinking about trying this sometime. I've heard that it's a great tour.

Good morning everyone! Today I will start going through our plan, what we are both looking forward to, AND any concerns we may have in advance. I will also detail any fun surprises that come along the way! DH has done, and continues to do so much for me, and is the best thing to ever happen to me. He does so many thoughtful things, and is really the most loving, amazing man I have ever met in my life. Therefore, I like to go out of my way to do little things for him that I know he will love and appreciate, and will make his trip so much more special. :lovestruc

June 5th- Arrival Day/Anniversary!
Flight arrives MCO at 10:55 am. We will take ME to WL, and hopefully will be able to check in and get our papers by lunch, which is 1:45 pm. It's cutting it a little close. Luckily, WCC is pretty flexible for lunch, and I'm sure if we're late we'll still be able to get in.

Lunch: Whispering Canyon Cafe 1:45 pm
I have eaten here before in 2005, BEFORE I was a DISer. We had lunch on our arrival day, which was quiet and lovely. Little did I know the antics that went on during breakfast!!  DID SOMEONE SAY KECTIIIIIIPPPPPP?!?!?!?!?!?! :rotfl: The antics definitely were not for us at 7:30 am lol, but the lunch seating worked great!

*I am looking forward to: BIG MARGARITAS! I hope they still have them! YUM!
*DH is looking forward to: Pulled pork sandwich (he never met one of those he didn't like), bbq pork spring rolls, s'mores cheesecake. I should have added that Mike loooves cheesecake!

Concerns: This is one ADR where we are cutting it close, so the only concern really is getting there close to on time. Actually the other concern is are they going to have my giant margaritas or not! :rotfl:

After lunch we will explore the resort and chill until our room is ready. Today is our non-park day. It will actually be the first arrival day that we haven't gone to MK. It will be a change for sure, but I'm looking forward to it! Hopefully we will have time to unpack, and settle in to our room. By then we may be working up a little appetite, and will be able to sample the evening offerings at the Club Lounge.

Here comes the first surprise...Our Cali Grill ADR is at 9:10 pm. I have set up the From Mickey and Minnie with Love package through Disney Florist. A team will come in while we are at dinner, and decorate the room with candles (led) and rose petals, as well as embroidered Mickey bath towels, spa stuff, pixie dusted roses, and more. Before anyone starts questioning my husband's sexuality (I was lambasted on resorts for setting this up by a man who was sure my husband was gay if he appreciated this.....:confused3), let me assure you he is all hetero lol. Please! He is a true romantic, and has decorated the room for me before a few times. I think he will really appreciate that our room is all romantic for our one year anniversary! He loves stuff like that. And I'm sure he is a little forlorn that he can't do too much surprising because we will be together. Alas, here is the catch! We have to be out of our room by 7 pm in order for the team to come in and set up. So I have planted the idea/plan of doing Drinks around the Monorail before our dinner. I got this awesome idea from some really helpful, amazing people on Resorts.

So after our apps at the lounge, we will get dressed and I will hopefully get him OUT of the room and onto the boat to the CR to start our journey at The Wave bar! We will hop around to the Poly, and GF before returning to CR for our dinner ADR.

Dinner: California Grill 9:10 pm
We have dined here before twice, and love it. Every time the service has been impeccable, and we have loved the food. The sushi is YUMS! We are really looking forward to celebrating our anniversary atop the CR, watching the last night of Wishes for the summer.

*I am looking forward to: Tamarind braised beef appetizer sounds so good! Tempura Malibu Roll, Oak fired filet of beef (with Tillamook cheddar gratin, broccolini, and teriyaki barbecue) YUM! Cheese Board also is one of my faves.
* DH is looking forward to: Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli, Crispy Chicken entree is sooo good!

Concerns: Surprise number two! I have ordered two miniature wedding cakes from Chef Brian aka CakemanBri, to be delivered to our table as our desserts! One is chocolate cake with chocolate mousse, and one is vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream. The outsides will be decorated in Mickey heads :) So my secret concern for this dinner is that the cakes will come off without a hitch! The reason I'm so into this for DH, is because his groom's cake (which was a surprise and part of his wedding present) was forgotten by our reception hall. So I was really upset he never got his groom's cake. I wanted to try to make it up to him :)

After dinner we will hop the boat back to WL, and then retire to our romantic room for the night!!!! Don't come a knockin people!!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

That's it for now!! Next will be day two: EPCOT, Les Chefs, Narcoossee's, and the first night of Summer Nightastic with MK Night EMH til 2 am!!! :yay:

Howdy! (That's the salutation the WL IPO uses in each email, it's cute :) )

Sunday June 6th-EPCOT morning EMH/MK Night EMH!

We really like morning EMH, and try to use them as much as possible.

On the game plan today: 1. Soarin', then FP it. 2. Sum of All Thrills!!! 3. Test Track 4. Mission Space Orange Team 5. Soarin' FP hopefully...We may need a snack by now, so we'll see what we're in the mood for over in Sunshine Seasons or Future World somewhere. We're both really REALLY excited to try SOAT, because we've never gotten to ride CyberSpace Mountain, or any other VR create-your-own coaster ride. By now World Showcase should be open, and we'll start to make our way through Canada over to France for our lunch ADR.

Lunch: Les Chefs de France 12:00 pm
We've never eaten here before, so we're excited to try a new place. Also I'm very excited because I speak French, and relish any opportunity to practice it! I spent a summer in France, and went back for a wedding, and I just love the culture and language.

*I am looking forward to:
Bisque de Homard (lobster bisque), Croque Monsieur (toasted ham and cheese sandwich yummm), Meeting Remy!!!, Meeting French CM's and speaking French with them!
*DH is looking forward to: Meeting Remy!, goat cheese and tomato flatbread, braised beef short ribs.

Concerns:
In the back of my mind the negative reviews come up, but I honestly think we will be just fine :)

After lunch we'll grab a Grey Goose slushie to share, and make our way around the World! We will stop along the way to get some yummy drinks we want to try, like Rosa Regale in Italy, and beer in Germany for DH. Also We've never seen the China movie together so we'll do that. Eventually we'll end up at..........

LA CAVA DEL TEQUILA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the back of the Mexico Pavilion!!!

We are both sooooo looking forward to this place! We LOVE margaritas and tequila!

*I am looking forward to:
Margarita Flight. Can't wait to try this!!!
*DH is looking forward to: Blood Orange Margarita (or 2 ;) )

Concerns: We are concerned that we will drink too much and not make it back to our resort!!!!!! After seeing what happened to Leshaface and her hubs, I can only imagine what's in store for us!!!!!! :rotfl:

After this fun afternoon we'll try to make it back to WL to sleep it off, I mean nap! :lmao: We need to be dressed and on our way to our dinner ressie by 6:15 pm.

Dinner: Narcoossee's 7:10 pm
We have never dined here before, and are both SUPER excited to experience it. We both love that the restaurant is its own little pavilion, and we expect the ambiance to be great.

*I am looking forward to: Crispy Crab Cakes, Grilled Filet Mignon (served with Potato Gratin, haricots verts, and Choron sauce), Gelato sampler (I loove pistachio!)
*DH is looking forward to: Togarashi Spiced Tuna Tataki, Tanglewood Farms Chicken Breast, Almond -crusted Cheesecake (surprise surprise lol).

Concerns: Again, having read some mixed reviews they are in the back of my mind, but I'm sure we will have a great experience. We go into everything with positivity and an easygoing attitude and find it really helps things along :)

ETA: I forgot to add that during our Narcoossee's dinner, I will tell DH of the surprise of the Wildlife Discovery Excursion! We will for sure be discussing the next day's plans over dinner, which he thinks is AK. That's when I'll surprise him with the tour!:yay::yay:

After dinner we'll head over to MK for Night EMH, and the first night of Summer Nightastic! We are SUPER excited for this!!!!!! Any new fireworks is exciting to us, and we love late night EMH so we're psyched! On the list is Space Mountain, Big Thunder (love it at night, last car), Splash...Hall of Presidents to see our current President...Also a Dole Whip is somewhere in there!!

We do need to get back to our resort at a reasonable time, of course. We have a reservation for breakfast that can't be missed! Something that is going to be a very new experience for us! Stay tuned for the next installment, MK rope drop show and Crystal Palace for the first time ever!!!

Sounds awesome so far! I love that you have set up little surprises for your DH. I've done that so much in the past that DH tells me NOT to. Ha ha - yeah right! I know I'll do something for him this trip, as well as for my kids, but I'm not sure what yet.

I am really looking forward to hearing more of your plans! Thank you for taking the time to share!

Hello!! This post will be our third day, Magic Kingdom :)

Monday June 7th- MK

Breakfast: Crystal Palace 9:10 am*
This is a first for us! We've never even done a non-character Disney buffet. We don't find a good value in the buffets, because we can never really eat $30 worth of buffet food. But DH specifically asked for a character meal, and this one fit right into our schedule. *The IPO is working on checking for an cancellations in the next few weeks for between 8:00 and 8:15 am. We really would like to see the MK opening show, we've never gotten to see it together.

*I'm looking forward to: Puffed french toast, omelet station, pancake station
*DH is looking forward to: Puffed french toast, pancake station, CHARACTERS!

Concerns:
If we aren't able to get in when the restaurant opens, I'm concerned about cross-contamination. I'm not going to lie here, the idea of all those sticky fingers (little AND big) all over the food is enough to make my skin crawl. That's why I'm going to stick to the stations!

After our breakfast we'll do some running around MK until we build up our appetite!

Lunch: The Plaza 12:35 pm

We've never eaten here before, and we've always been intrigued by it.

*I'm looking forward to:
Chicken Strawberry Salad or Cheese Steak sandwich (depending on my mood!), Brownie sundae mmmmm
*DH is looking forward to: Whichever one of the above I don't choose! Then we share! We do that all the time :)

Concerns:
Not really a concern, just a little bummed about the rehab closing in the place, but not a lot you can do about it! It will not bring us down at all though :)

After lunch we will do some more MK exploration. At some point we'll catch the boat back to WL, and go back to the room to freshen up. Our plan is to catch a bus to DTD so we can ride the hot air balloon! DH really wants to do this, and I'm excited but a little nervous. If we have time we'll do our usual DTD shopping, which consists of lots of Christmas shopping! Also some souvenir shopping for our families, and a little for ourselves :) When we get back to the resort, we'll get ourselves rested and ready for our dinner there at the Lodge.

Dinner: Artist Point 8:30 pm
I have eaten here before in 2005 and loved it. I thought the food and service were terrific. I'm really excited to be back here, and to try it with DH :)

*I'm looking forward to:
Smoky Portobello Soup, Braised Penn Cove Mussels, Grilled Beef Tenderloin, possibly whatever Buffalo dish is on the menu, Berry Cobbler (although they did change the recipe :sad2:)
*DH is looking forward to: Venison Pot Stickers, Artisan Cheese Plate, Grilled Beef Tenderloin, Cedar Plank roasted King Salmon, Goat Cheese Tart

Concerns: None really...Just hoping it's as good as the first time I was here!

After dinner, we'll retire to our room, as I'm sure we'll be SPENT by this time! And full!! We'll need to be rested, because the next day is a day filled with animal adventures, and a romantic night too....

Wow, your plans sound sooo exciting
You are both going to have the most amazing time :cool1:

Sounds awesome so far! Hope you get your earlier time request fulfilled for Crystal Palace. Can't wait to read more.

I hope so too but I'm not holding my breath. When I get in touch with them in 2 weeks to confirm the cakes for Cali Grill, I'll ask again. :goodvibes

Good morning everyone!!!

I'm teeming with excitement over the surprise of the Wildlife Discovery Excursion!!:cool1::yay::banana: Today will start with a yummy Club Lounge breakfast (I failed to mention that in our EPCOT day). First and foremost, DH turns on the coffeemaker and starts our Illy drip coffee brewin'. An absolute must, brought from home. We are coffee snobs, we admit it ;) While I'm getting ready, DH will make a couple of runs to the lounge to get us some breakfast, as well as milk and juice. We usually eat yogurt, fruit, bagels with cream cheese, DH will eat a muffin. If there's oatmeal I will eat oatmeal. Then we set off for the buses towards AK. If it's a morning EMH, like EPCOT, we eat in the room around 6:30 am, and head to the buses at 7:15 am. Today we just need to make 9 am rope drop, so we'll eat at around 7:15 to make it to the buses by 8:00 am.

Tuesday June 8th- AK/WDE/EP Night EMH

AK is one of DH's favorites. He absolutely loves the Kilamanjaro Safari, the animals, the Maharaja Jungle Trek, of course EE, he LOVES Dinosaur...It's just a basically fun day for us. But a hot day, always! After rope drop, we'll zip over to EE to try to ride and FP it. We have to be outside the entrance to KS at 9:45 am for our 10 am tour (WDE).

10:00 am- Wildlife Discovery Excursion

Booked through the IPO, it's only open to CL guests. It's a one hour tour on a bus with up to 14 other people, and a knowledgeable tour guide. You're on the same path as KS, but you take lots of detours at specific spots to better view and learn about the animals. The vehicle is not climate controlled though, which some people have found to be insufferable in the summer heat. We booked the earlier tour (it's available at 10 am and 1 pm), so hopefully it will be as good as it can be. Again, we're pretty easygoing, and if there's animals involved, I'm sure we'll be too distracted by them to care about the heat. But we shall see :)

After the tour, we'll start heading back towards Asia. We'll try to use our EE FP now. We have a bit of time to kill before our lunch ADR.

Lunch: Yak and Yeti 12:00 pm

We've never eaten here before and are very excited to try it after reading lots about it, and seeing great pics of the food.

*I'm looking forward to:
Lettuce cups, Baby back ribs!, Fried wontons
*DH is looking forward to: Seared ahi tuna, Baby back ribs, Friend wontons!

Concerns:
None!

After lunch we'll see where the day takes us. I have the Disney wait times website for bb saved on my favorites, so I'll be checking wait times for sure! If we're up for it, we'll either sb or fp Dinosaur. I would really like to see the Nemo show, which we haven't done before. So after Dinosaur and wandering through Dinoland, we'll go get on line for the afternoon (3:15 I think?) showing of Nemo. By the end of that, we will be sooo done, and ready to head back to freshen up and get ready for dinner and our EPCOT night.

We'll take a cab over to the Yacht Club for our dinner ressies at Yachtsman Steakhouse.

Dinner: Yachtsman Steakhouse 6:45 pm

This is another first attempt for us, and we're excited to try it as well!

*I'm looking forward to:
Lobster bisque, Filet mignon, creme brulee
*DH is looking forward to: Braised beef ravioli, Cowboy steak , mango cheesecake (again surprise!!)

Concerns:
None really...Have read some mixed reviews, but again, we really go into each experience with a positive attitude, so hopefully we will be fine!!

After dinner, we will stroll through the International Gateway, and walk through the WS until Illuminations. We don't need to get a really great spot or anything, we can just stand back and enjoy. After Illuminations, EP has night EMH until 12 am! Very exciting! We'll see where the night takes us, because we have ANOTHER morning EMH the next day! :scared1:

Next post will be our last park day, and another day of new dining experiences for us. Also a bunch of new rides and attractions for us ahead at DHS. :goodvibes:goodvibes
