We're Back and I Can't Stand to Look at Another Dessert Apr.2010 6/2 Crystal Palace

Count me in too!

I've been trying to decide between Ohana and Kona Cafe for my and DH's trip. Your review of Kona definitely made up my mind! Yum! It looks so good! :)

Im loving your TR, it makes me hungery. lol

I know this is silly, but is Toga Toast really that good? Would you get up early, ride the bus to epcot or mk, take the monorail to Poly for it? Is it that good?

yum! I can't wait for tonga toast!!

Yay your trip is so close!

We've never tried Ohana, hoping to next trip. Are you doing breakfast or dinner?

I think it's that good. We've done just this before to go try the Tonga Toast, it was worth it for us!

For our first day in Epcot we had been going back and forth over which new restaurant to try. We finally decided on Les Chefs de France and glad we did. The restuarant opened at noon, which is when our ADR's were for. The line at the podium was really long, luckily once we got up to the podium and checked in, we were seated in 5 minutes.

I don't remember our waiters name but he was gorgeous! Shhh don't tell DH. All the waiters in Chefs de France are so handsome. lol He seemed like he was new at his job, a little overly attentive but we didn't mind. For drinks I think I just ordered a water and DH got a coke. The usual. For my appetizer I ordered the imported cheese plate.

This was really good, I love cheese though. I know there was a swiss and I honestly can't remember what other kinds of cheese were on it. They were really big pieces of cheese though, I didn't finish all of it or I would never have been able to eat lunch.

DH got the onion soup with gruyere cheese. He said it was very flavorful and cheesy. He really enjoyed this.

As we were eating our appetizers Remy came to our table. I hadn't told DH about this part of the meal yet. He was so lifelike. Remy only stayed at each table for a minute or two but it definetly added to the experience of dining here. After Remy left our table, DH was determined to figure out how he was controlled, he figured it out fairly quickly. He can't just let magic be magic hes got to know how everything works. :rotfl:

For my entree, I was really debating between the baked macaroni and cheese and the mahi mahi sandwich. Being on a fish kick this trip I went for the mahi mahi. The sandwich was ok. It had peppers and onions which I didn't like the taste of combined with the fish. The bread was very good though, it was very soft and had light olive oil on top. The pommes frittes that came with the sandwich were delish!

DH got the baked macaroni and cheese. I tried this and wished I had ordered it as well. Very cheesy but not too heavy like I was expecting and the portion was a good size as well.

By the time dessert came around I was feeling really full so I went for something fairly light. I got the kiwi sorbet served with fresh fruit and an elephant ear. This was perfect, I loved the kiwi flavor and having fresh fruit was a nice change.

DH got the crepe filled with cinnamon, apple, vanilla ice cream and apple caramel sauce. I think he was expecting something much tastier than this. He said he didn't really taste the apple, all he could taste was the caramel sauce.

Overall we had a nice lunch here. DH really liked it and wants to add it to our must do list. I'm not as convinced but we'll probably go back sometime.

Total price before tip-$62.20 Total so far-$362.97

Up next...La Cava de Tequila

Great review! Can't wait for your take on my favorite place in all of WDW - La Cava de Tequila (The Ditch)!

Great review of Chefs de France! :thumbsup2
That cheese plate is a must...I will def be getting it on our trip! :)
We  us some cheese!!

Haven't read through all your reviews yet, but I laughed when I saw the title of your thread! Mine should have been, "Can't stand to look at another Appetizer!" :rotfl:

Nice pic of the Tonga Toast by the way! I could really go for one of those right about now! :thumbsup2

Another great review!!! We are eating at Chef's at noon as well on our EPCOT day and I can't wait!!! I know DH will be trying to figure out how Remy works as well. His favorite was figuring out the talking trash can :rotfl:

Those pomme frites look so good. I loved your comment about the "eye candy", hehe I mean the waiter!

Hello Leshaface, I've been lurking on your dining reviews! The DxDp sure is a ton of food huh?

Haha oh yes DH figured out the trash cans as well. He likes to stand and watch the trash cans just to watch "the operator".

Are all men from France that good looking?! :)

Originally we weren't planning on trying La Cava de Tequila but we were waiting for our fastpass times to come so we decided to head in and see what all the hype was about.

Surprisingly, there was no wait for a seat. It's tiny in there though! We were a little uncomfortable though, as the table next to us, consisting of 4 adults were all a little more than tipsy. They were very loud and kept looking over in our direction. Luckily they left about 15 minutes after we were seated. We did have a waiter come over to take our drink orders but we wanted water too which he forgot so Dh ended up going right up to the bar to get some, it was much easier than waiting as our table was only a few steps from the bar. DH usually isn't a big fan of alcohol but he does like frozen margaritas. He opted for the mango margarita. Which I actually did not get a picture of, I guess I was too busy with my selection. He liked it, way more booze than the margaritas you get from the stand right outside.

I decided to try the margarita flight though I was a little nervous about the jalepeno one. :scared:

The prickly pear, cucumber and wild passion fruit were awesome. :thumbsup2 I wasn't too crazy about the jalepeno or avacado margaritas. I just don't like the idea of chunks in my margarita. I took a few small sips of these two but I pretty muched passed on them and ended up drinking a good portion of DH's margarita instead. ;) We didn't get any appetizers as we were still pretty full from lunch. Next time I want to try the guacamole and see if it's any good. If we come back next time I will probably try a regular margarita in a flavor I'm sure that I will like, I hated wasting so much this time. This place was a nice spot to relax and have a good drink but it's a little cramped.

After we left "The Ditch" we headed to China where I had to try a Peach Oolong Tea. OMG this was awesome! Pretty much frozen Peach Schnapps. Not a ton of booze in it but great nonetheless.

Jalapeno margaritas? Really???? I don't think I would be too crazy about it either! lol

Signing in! Love the food porn so far and looking forward to the rest of your reviews. :thumbsup2 We're also booked with the deluxe plan!

I am absolutely loving your reviews on the DxDP! Thank you for posting so many pics, it's really helping me make up my mind about where I would like to eat!

I'm loving your reviews! When we went to La Cava in March I ordered the Blood Orange Margarita, and it was soooo good! I did order the guacamole, and it was delicious. It had a little bit more of a spicy kick to it than I would prefer for guacamole, but I still enjoyed it. I think next time we go, I will try the cucumber margarita, it sounds yummy.

Sounds great..you list some of my favorite eating places...going to go to some in 18 days....YAY:cheer2:
