We're Back and I Can't Stand to Look at Another Dessert Apr.2010 6/2 Crystal Palace

Ooh next time I'm gonna get that marg flight! Looks wonderful...minus the jalepeno marg...I wonder if you can flirt with the bartender and ask for a substitution on that one! ;) :lmao:

I know there's no alcohol in it, but the mango peach iced tea from that same kiosk is BOMBIE!!!! I know, no alcohol, BLASPHEMY!!! :rotfl2: But it's sooo good and refreshing! :thumbsup2

Signing in! Love the food porn so far and looking forward to the rest of your reviews. :thumbsup2 We're also booked with the deluxe plan!

Thank you! Love the deluxe plan! Have you tried it before?
I am absolutely loving your reviews on the DxDP! Thank you for posting so many pics, it's really helping me make up my mind about where I would like to eat!

Glad I could help, I love reading other ppls reviews for ideas. So many places to choose from!

Subbing! Everything looks great so far! cannot wait to see more! :goodvibes

Hello NitemaresSister! I've got another review coming at you! :goodvibes

I'm loving your reviews! When we went to La Cava in March I ordered the Blood Orange Margarita, and it was soooo good! I did order the guacamole, and it was delicious. It had a little bit more of a spicy kick to it than I would prefer for guacamole, but I still enjoyed it. I think next time we go, I will try the cucumber margarita, it sounds yummy.

Awesome, I will definetly have to try the blood orange margarita next time! Any other flavor would be better than that jalepeno.
Sounds great..you list some of my favorite eating places...going to go to some in 18 days....YAY:cheer2:

Have fun on your trip!

Teppan Edo has been one of DH's favorite places to eat at Disney. Mostly in part because he never realized that we had Japanese hibachi restaurants back at home. Having said this, a few weeks before we went to Disney, we went to a Japanese Steakhouse near us. The food was terrible, there was frozen peas and carrots mixed in instead of fresh veggies, awful sauce. Anyways, I think the experience we had at our local hibachi restaurant kind of ruined Teppan Edo a little bit for DH.

We were seated right away when we checked in for our reservation. They sat us in the back room which I wasn't too crazy about, there were only two grills in this room. I like the rooms with four grills better, it just feels more open and your not sitting as close to the other tables.

DH and I both started off with edamame for our appetizers. It came out cold and unsalted. Every time I've ever ordered edamame, its been served hot and salted. They were not very good, we were thinking about sending them back as I doubt they were supposed to be cold, but by it took too long for our server to come back to the table so we just ate them.

Before we finished our appetizers, our chef came out. I ordered the chicken, and DH ordered the filet mignon.

Both our dishes were delicious, I didn't feel like the portions were big enough though. They gave us three dipping sauces for our meals, I don't remember what kinds they were but there was a ginger sauce that was so good with the chicken.

For dessert I decided to be brave and try the chocolate ginger cake. I thought it was ok, the taste of ginger with chocolate was hard to describe, a little weird for me.

DH ordered the green tea pudding. He dreams about this stuff. :cloud9:

Overall, we had an alright experience here. I don't think we will go back every trip, especially now that DH realizes its not a "special Disney thing" :rotfl: But we may try it again someday.

Cost-$80.25 Total so far (things included on DxDp)-$443.22

This is exactly why we have never tried Teppan Edo, and I doubt we will. That green tea pudding looks amazing, though! Gotta remember to look for that in my local places. Loving your reviews!

Love the pictures!!! I HATE tequilla so I don't do margaritas, but I've seen many pictures of that flight, and I just might have to make an exception! And the oolong tea slushie-I'll be having one or two . . . (or three?) of those this December.

Thanks for the wonderful reviews so far. Looking forward to reading more!!

Thanks for the new reviews! I wonder if we would like Teppan Edo ...... I am not really keen on the "sit with others" idea. Loved your Cava de Tequilla review too! I had the Blood Orange Margaritha and it was to die for!

Keep them coming, I need more inspirations ;) My next trip is "all" planned and I need ideas to change things around! :lmao:

Thanks for the amazing pictures. We are going to be doing the Dessert Party in July...your pics have me even more excited for it :woohoo:

Any idea what the heck is pavlova made out of? Tasted just like sugar. :cloud9:

yep - that's exactly what pavolva is made from - sugar. It is whisked egg whites with sugar added. whack in oven to dry out. Load with fruit and whipped cream. make them all the time - I'm Australian so it's compulsory :thumbsup2

Let the NZ debate begin. :cool1:

:lmao: :thumbsup2 I love pavlova! I make it for the US rellies every time I see them. It's more common in our house then cake :cloud9:

Hey, don't leave us hanging. Enjoying your food reviews. I just added Cava Tequila to our list of "must do". Is the margarita flight large enough for 2 to share a taste of each drink?

Started reading last night and finished up this morning. I had to subscribe so I could keep following your awesome :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 reports and the great pictures. :goodvibes

Great reviews so far! Also? we have the same last name! Wonder if we are long-lost cousins? Although I am an "O'Dell" not an odell.

Thanks for the great reviews once again!

Much better than the local places though! I mean you get onion Mickeys lol. :lmao:

Just be warned, the jalepeno margarita is a little weird. Oolong tea slushie however, so worth it!

I really don't like sitting with others either but Teppan Edo doesn't bother me, Biergarten on the other hand...that dinner is very awkward. It's loud with all the grills going in Teppan Edo so you don't feel obligated to carry on a conversation with the whole table.

And I know what you mean by changing things around. lol I always do that before a trip.

Thanks for the amazing pictures. We are going to be doing the Dessert Party in July...your pics have me even more excited for it :woohoo:

Awesome! When did they extend the dessert party until? We might do it again in November if it's offered, mostly for the view.

Definetly the first time I had ever heard of or tried pavlova, but it sure was yummy. I might have to try making it sometime. :goodvibes

Got another review coming tonight! Each margarita on the flight is only a little bigger than shot glass sized so its probably enough to share to taste but I would suggest getting two.

Thanks, I appreciate it! :goodvibes

Great reviews, love the look of Kona and Dessert party in particular. Maybe in 2011?

It's never too early to start planning, I say go for it!

Great reviews so far! Also? we have the same last name! Wonder if we are long-lost cousins? Although I am an "O'Dell" not an odell.

Hey! Maybe we are lol. I don't understand the spelling of the last name though. I think O'Dell is the right way to spell it, Odell is just weird to me. haha

So originally we were supposed to have breakfast at Boma this morning. Boma breakfast is one of my favorite places to go. We decided to take the walkway from BLT to MK and then wait for a bus going to AKL. Our ADR was at 8:30 so we headed to MK around 7:15. The walk was only about 10 minutes. And then we waited, and waited and waited for a bus. There were tons of buses dropping off at MK and a few were picking up too. But none were coming to pickup for AKL. We waited for an hour! There was even a bus dispatcher who across the way had seen us waiting for so long yet did nothing. We were so mad, as we decided to head back to BLT and just grab a bus to AK (as we had missed our ADR by now) DH even asked the disbatcher why no bus came? He was very rude to DH and pretty much told him too bad. Not a good way to start off the day, plus I was pretty bummed that we had missed our ADR. So anyways...hungry and upset we decided to just go to AK and see what we could find for breakfast there.

We were headed to just get muffins from kusafiri coffee shop but on the way we saw that Pizzafari was open for breakfast.

I ordered the adult breakfast platter which was scrambled eggs with hash browns, biscuit, and bacon. I guess it was just your average breakfast platter but I was starving so it tasted much better and I ate every bite!

DH got the breakfast pizza. He loved this as well, but we both agreed that Boma would have been much better. Oh well, next time.

I love this mural on the way out of Pizzafari.

Also, on the DxDp two drinks per person are included with breakfast. I think that it's such a waste. I only wanted an apple juice but I got a water too. I brought it with me for later but by the time I got around to drinking it, it was warm anyways. I rather get dessert with breakfast (like I hadn't had enough already this trip.)

Total-$23.58 Total so far-$466.80

Up next...a new favorite restaurant of ours

Not that this helps you any NOW ~ but when we were there in January I was talking with a CM about how hard it is to make it to and ADR using Disney Transportation and be on time ~ especially for a breakfast from one resort to another (like you BLT -->AKL) Well he said that your ADR is good for up to TWO HOURS after your ADR time. I would never abuse it ~ but if you are gonna miss something you really want ~ you should still go. Next time that is.

:) Been reading along and loving it! Getting me so excited for my trip!

Loving these review! They are making me even more super antsy for my own trip :goodvibes

Oh that looks yummy. I never thought about Pizzafari for breakfast. Can you customize the breakfast pizza or what you see is what you get?
